I initially went to Dr. Mills because of how conveniently located the office is, right off Farragut Square. The convenience doesn’t hurt, but Dr. Mills & Associates is SO MUCH MORE than a convenient location. The hygienists are friendly, go out of their way to be helpful, and offer great care. Dr. Mills herself is both soothing and reassuring, which are great qualities in a dentist. Definitely recommend a visit to Dr. Mills & Associates!

Dr Brian Laurence and the staff at Dr Mills office are fantastic. Everyone is super nice and genuinely friendly. I had a crown and 3 fillings with dr Laurence. He is extremely thorough and precise and doesn’t cut corners. You can tell he is a perfectionist because he will make sure his work is perfect. The office is very bright and clean which is an added bonus. He made me feel at ease and was always checking in with me. I absolutely recommend him and this office.

Dr. Mills is the best dentist-mom you never had. She, and all her staff, are FANTASTIC, especially if you hate the dentist. Her whole family works there, and they are all as equally professional and warm as she is. The first time I went, I didn’t know to bring my X-rays from my previous dentist. When they refused to fax them over, Dr. Mills just did some quick ones for me, free of charge, so that I wouldn’t have to reschedule. On top of that, she made sure that the work she was doing was within my insurance limits, so I wouldn’t be overcharged. She is genuinely concerned with how you are feeling, and will practically bend over backward to make you feel comfortable. I cannot recommend her highly enough!

I have avoided the dentist for years!!! I have known a tooth needed help for a long time but was afraid to go. I was expecting to have a root canal and Dr. Mills was able to fill it. It seemed like quite a large cavity but it was painless….really really. No one likes the sound of drills etc, …but no pain. 2 hours later I feel great. Her technicians and staff are also very professional and really nice. Changed how I feel about going to the dentist.

I hate going to the dentist; who doesn’t, right? Luckily, I was referred to Dr. Mills by a work colleague and I’ve been a patient ever since (first visit was in early 2012). Dr. Mills is a great dentist and her staff is lovely. Her dental hygenists are quick and thorough and take great efforts to make sure patients are relaxed and comfortable. As weird as it is to write, I actually look forward to having my teeth cleaned now, too. I’ve had four fillings replaced and the procedures were done well and quickly. I recently went to see an endontist for an issue with a root canal done years ago and she remarked on how healthy my gums were and how well all of my dental work looked. I recommend Dr. Mills very highly.

Honestly, I can’t believe I am writing a review for a dentist but when you have a good one, it can be like a minor miracle in life. I HATE the dentist. I go, I always go, but I hate it nonetheless. I used to agonize for days about a routine cleaning, that’s how freaky I am about the dentist. But this is a good one. A VERY GOOD ONE. I have been seeing Dr. Mills and her associate, Dr. Brian, for nine years now and I cannot speak highly enough about these dentists and the staff at this office. The entire staff is professional and friendly and this is very much a family-oriented practice. Even for me, who doesn’t have a family, I feel like I am walking into my aunt or grandmother’s house when I get here. I know that is a ridiculous thing to say but if you have dental fears, then you get what I mean when I say this is a very comforting dentist. And they remember you. I was gone for two years in Africa and came back and it was like I never left. They remembered me (and all my neurosis) like I had never been gone. Dr. Mills (and maybe Dr. Brian, not sure) are originally from Ghana so if you are a traveler, they will be particularly to your liking. Especially if you have had some strange dental procedures in other countries or are neurotic and fearing strange dental procedures in other countries 😉 In any case, traveler or not, this is by far the best dentist and best dental office I have ever been to. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

This was the best dental visit I’ve ever had. The service was so quick and painless, and the staff was beyond friendly. Even on my way out, the employees were striking up conversations. The cleaning I received was top notch and thorough, and I had a cavity identified and filled on the spot. Even with xrays, I was out in less than an hour. Highly recommended!

You know how when you go to the hair salon and get your hair cut, colored, shampoo’d and all fixed up, you leave feeling like a million bucks? Well, that’s how Dr. Mills’ office makes you feel every time you go there! The staff there is remarkable! Very friendly and personable. They can explain what you need to make your smile even better and have fun while doing it. As a bonus–Dr. Mills whitened my teeth before my wedding day and I was so happy to have wedding pictures that I could smile about when I looked back at them. Before, I dreaded going to the dentist and my last dentist was awful, made me feel like I should be the one apologizing for everything and didn’t treat his staff that well (and also recommended procedures that I wasn’t quite sure I needed). Dr. Mills’ staff takes their time to explain everything and is just a pleasure to be around–I will be going back to her for all my future dental needs. Great people, great service!

Best dentist in DC by far! Dr. Mills and Dr. Turpin are knowledgeable, gentle, and efficient. The appointment process is seamless, they text you beforehand and remind you and I am usually in and out within 20 minutes. They work with your insurance and make it happen! Everyone who works here is delightful! I have had a great experience every time. Cleanings are fast but thorough, and pain-free. For more invasive work, they really listen and pay attention to how much anesthesia you need, when you need breaks, etc. I am over 30 years old and this was the first time I have EVER been completely numb for dental work. What a game changer–I’m so grateful! I’ve been recommending them to everyone I know.

I’ve been going to Dr. Mills’ office for 5-6 years now and I always have an excellent experience. The front desk staff are very friendly and happy to work with you to find a time that fits for your schedule. The dental hygienists are FABULOUS! I am never anxious about having my teeth cleaned because they are gentle and check in to see if you are OK. I just had full x-rays done on my teeth and I kept waiting for something horrible but the machine and bites they use are as comfortable as possible. I’ve seen both Dr. Mills and one other dentist (I can’t remember her name) and they are both great. No judging of your lack of proper teeth habits, just encouragement and education on what you should be doing. I don’t hate going to the dentist!!!

I have always loved going to the dentist. I am weird, I know. But I just love getting my teeth cleaned and how great I feel afterwards. If my insurance covered more than two cleanings a year, I would be there every month if I could. For the most part, I have had good dentists in the past, but did not have one set dentist that I liked upon moving here almost three years ago. Once we moved from Fairfax to DC, I decided to find a closer dentist. This place was one of the first that I called that took the military insurance (yay). I easily made an appointment with the nice receptionist and within a few months I had my first visit. That was back in May and it was a very pleasant visit, I left telling my husband that I enjoyed my new dentist. Yesterday was my second visit here, and again, it was a great visit. Sheila has cleaned my teeth both times, and I just adore her. She is so friendly and funny. I had Brian Laurence during my first visit, and I had Dr. Mills yesterday. Both are friendly and welcoming. I think this is a great doctor’s office.

Great office with very nice, helpful and efficient staff. More importantly, I’ve had work done by both Dr. Mills and Dr. Turpin, and I’ve had no issues at all or any lingering pain or discomfort. They repeatedly told me to call if the pain did not subside when it should have. The front desk staff is great; they offer to give you an explanation of your benefits before you get work done so you know what you may expect to pay. When I had an issue with my insurance company, they called on my behalf.
