Amazing! I was looking last year for a holistic minded dentist for major work on my teeth. After hours and hours of searching and speaking to offices mainly in (different area), I found Dr Son. His prices were much better than the holistic dentists in (other regions) and his attention to detail and kind heart put me at ease. I literally almost fell asleep while having a crown put in, it was that pleasant. (I used the gas and the mouth piece that rests gently to keep mouth open while they work and act as a suction. It’s a genius invention that I haven’t seen at other offices I consulted with.) His office staff and assistants are top notch and the hygienist corrected me on several habits no other hygienist had addressed in detail which I know will save my teeth from future work. I suggest getting in with them before they become to hard to get a new patient appt. (That’s what happened with my holistic Endocrinoligist;) Thanks Dr Son!

Dr. David Son and his entire staff are sensational and one of a kind. They are very professional; but at the same time, caring and understanding. The technology they use is incredible. I am a 55 year old woman who was born without 6 of my permanent teeth and because of this most of my teeth are capped and are over 26 years old. When I had my first consultation with Dr. David Son, I was suffering from an infection caused by a root canal. He informed me how bad infected root canals and metal fillings are and what I needed to do to have healthier teeth and gums. He explained to me that what was most important was to decide what to fix first and a plan on accommodating my budget. I ended up having 4 of my front teeth pulled and 2 implants put in. I do not like having my teeth drilled, but Dr. David Son’s mastery was remarkable and painless. He also took a sample of my blood before the procedure and put it in a machine to make stems cells from. He used the stem cells to help my gums heal faster. Also, during the whole process ozone water was used. While waiting for my implants to heal, he had a temporary made for me to wear which is gorgeous. My experience so far has been wonderful and I even had my teeth clean last week with April, a Hygienist, which was amazing too.

What will likely matter most to people, Dr. Son is the absolute best at making sure you feel ZERO pain. His numbing process is the equivalent of breathing. You just don’t know when the process has started and then your gums are numb. Sounds to good to be true. That’s the feeling I get every single time I go through the process. Dr. Son is very patient and genuinely gives off a positive comforting energy. I’ve been maybe 7 times and each time I leave grateful.

We moved across country 2 years ago and I really wanted a homeopathic dentist, so any work and care would be done safely. Dr. David Son is the closest to that in our area. (He is a biological dentist.) You can tell that he really cares about his patients’ health. He is gentle, efficient, and makes every attempt for work to be painless. He treats both myself and my 2 kids. The front desk staff is super nice and helpful as well. They really take the time to explain the process and make sure you understand the procedure and costs involved. We love the hygienists as well. All super sweet and gentle. I just had two crowns replaced this week by Dr Son. The experience was fantastic. The first appointment was completely painless, which is a MIRACLE when having dental treatment done! I had “temporary” crowns that were comfortable and functional that I wore for a little over two weeks. Then I went back for another appointment to have the real crowns put on. Another painless appointment. (Thanks Dr Son!) My new crowns are gorgeous. They are beautiful and they feel like my teeth, a perfect fit! I can honestly say I love seeing my dentist! Dr. Son was an answer to a prayer for me. As I was traveling full time across the country, I experienced a major tooth ache and needed immediate attention. After visiting with 2 other local dentist in (a different) area, both of which highly recommended a root canal, Dr. Son saved the tooth by suggesting Ozone therapy. My pain went away after one day and my tooth isn’t compromised with foreign materials and the traumatic effects of a root canal. Dr. Son is the BEST, most committed to quality dentist I have ever had. He just removed all of the metal in my mouth and restored my teeth over four visits. I had my prior, non-biologic dentist in Newport Beach replace all of my amalgams a couple of years ago, but recent blood work came back showing high mercury. I thought maybe I had ingested some during the process, and I also saw that I had one amalgam filling left behind. I sought a biologic dentist to remove that one filling. Dr. Son’s X-rays clearly showed remnants of amalgam in other teeth and also nickel in my crowns. I wanted it all out. He painstakingly removed all of the metal and restored my teeth, in a biologically safe way. Taking extra time and care, he also removed decay under long-time crowns and saved my teeth without damaging the root. He is thorough, loves teaching, too, and explained every step. He did nothing without my permission, and he was gentle throughout the process. He also has the latest equipment, including films to watch during extensive work, which truly eased the process. His office staff is also kind, cheerful, and helpful. Although it was a rigorous process, I feel great about the quality work and service I received. I am sending my husband there next.

This review is long and well over due! I should start by thanking the staff and Dr. Son for the amazing work he continues to give my entire family and I! From preventive care to restorative and my Botox! My kids love coming here, even though it’s not a totally kid friendly office. The gals in the front are so sweet every time they come in even if they don’t have an appointment. A treasure box and sugar free suckers! When I got my implant it was so painless and Dr. Son used a laser. That was pretty cool! You can honestly tell that Dr. Son loves his job and his staff loves every patient. For 4 months, I have been struggling with an unknown facial infection. I couldn’t open my mouth(max len. 2in) and my jaw on the right side swelled to the size of large strawberry. Since then, I’ve been to 6 other doctors and none of them could explain my condition nor prescribe me treatment. I’ve been on antibiotics and tried many options, but none of them were solutions. Just three weeks ago, my dad did some searching and we found Dr. Son’s office after getting a CT scan. I was diagnosed with actinomycosis. We heard about how the doctor uses ozone to treat various conditions, so we thought we’d give it a try. Amazingly enough, after just the second day, my swelling went down and I could open my mouth a little bit more. After the fourth day I could open it up an inch and a half! If I were religious I’d say that this was a miracle. 🙂 Additionally, the doctor’s technique for injection was extremely painless. He numbs you up before treatment, but even the process of putting the needle in doesn’t hurt at all. All in all, if it were possible I would give this place 5000/5. Friendly, caring staff, superb dentist, this place has it all. Anyone struggling with a case similar to mine should definitely check out David Son, DDS.

I had my first visit yesterday, and it was amazing. Dr. Son and his staff have a great way of explaining dental treatment. I came home for the holidays from Delaware and his front office staff was able to accommodate my crazy schedule, while I am in town.
I was referred by a friend that goes to this office and I am so happy I made the drive because it was well worth it. I was able to have my teeth cleaned, digital x-rays, exam and some decay removed in the same day with out a hassle. There was no “selling” here like I have experienced in the past at other offices, and they cared about what my goal was. Dr. Son’s skills are very high! He discovered that my last dentist didn’t fill a few of my teeth properly that could have caused decay under my fillings, thank goodness he found them. Earlier this year I needed emergency care for an infected tooth. I called in the morning and was told to come right in. They took care of me immediately and spent the time needed to successfully complete their work. Also, I just received a cleaning and it was actually a pleasant experience. All of the nervousness I used to have about going to the dentist is gone!
The staff and state of the art equipment give them the ability to take care of the needs of their patients. Dr. Son’s knowledge of dentistry is amazing. He has suggested and done work for me and I will go nowhere else.

I flew (a long distance) to see Dr. Son as I had more than a few dental and medical issues. My friend from Newport Beach has been raving about him, and she had convinced me to make an appointment with Dr. Son who practices holistic dentistry. At first appointment, I was convinced that I made a right decision. He is not only an expert on dentistry, but has a vast knowledge on naturopathic medicine. I have never met more caring doctor than Dr. Son. He removed all my mercury fillings safely with special equipment and I was wearing an oxygen mask throughout the procedures to prevent from inhaling mercury. (…)I can honestly tell you that he has gentle hands, makes sure you’re completely numb before drilling, talks with you and explains what he’s doing throughout the procedure and he does have a good sense of humor. I haven’t experienced any unbearable pain after a procedure; but he offers his after hour contact info in case something was to happen. Since my first few major repair visits, I have gone back for routine cleanings and x-rays, nothing else has popped up since and no repair has been needed on the work that he has done! To me that’s quite a testimony to his expertise and follow up care that I do at home now. Bottom line: I would recommend anyone and everyone to Dr. Son. He isn’t cheap; but he is worth every penny!

Dr. David Son earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the Ohio State University. Earning this qualification didn't keep him away from continuous education and he went on to follow a UCLA residency in sleep apnea, several courses at UC San Diego for TMD, and training at USC for dental implant surgery. He is also a Naturopathic Medical Doctor. Dr. Son is passionate about dentistry; with an in-depth understanding of the impact oral wellness has on the lives of his patients. He practices biological/holistic dentistry, putting into practice what he believes about wellness. He loves the time he spends with his patients, sharing his insights with them, so that they gain a proper understanding about the importance of dental health.
