I’ve been to many dentists in my life, most of whom outsource root canals, extractions, braces, gum wellness, implants. Finally I found this dentist (Desert Ridge) that does it all for me, my wife, and our kids. I’ve had two implants by an “implant only” place on 7th St. who advertises “$1,000 implants”. After bone graphs, anesthesia, I paid close to $8,000. Plus the bone graphs and other fees that dentist charged – I’ve now learned were completely unnecessary or inflated. But Desert Smiles Dentistry is fair & honest and saves me time & money and I love that I found them. One stop shop for everything ! Love it – Love it !!!!!!

Ok first of all, guess who is actually afraid of dentists? That would be me! Due to previous experiences (at a dentist in Flagstaff) which involved lots of crying and absolutely no compassion, I put off going to the dentist for a few years. So, after I moved from Flagstaff to Phoenix I had the inkling suspicion that I had a dreaded cavity, and sucked it up and made an appointment here (it’s my families dentist). First of all, ABSOLUTLY WONDERFUL customer service! I told them about my previous experience and they took the best care of me. Explaining every thing hat was happening, introducing each individual that stuck their hand in my mouth, and being extremely compassionate every step of the way. I would recommend this place a thousand times over. Also, the fact that I got an appointment the day after I called in was actually amazing!

My family suggested that I engage Desert Smiles for my denistry needs. My first visit was an excellent experience. The outer office personnel staff was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Rosemary, the Dr.’s Assistant, was very personable and exuded a high of expertise for my personal needs. Dr. Mehta is extremely professional and caring. He provided several alternatives for treatment. He explained every step of the various processes. The office staff explained the costs in relationship to my insurance benefits. I would have to say this is the best experience I’ve had a dental practice. Beginning with the front office staff to the hygienists to Dr. Mehta, everyone in this practice is unfailingly polite and helpful. This is the first time I’ve ever had Novocain that I haven’t felt awful the rest of the day. Plus the quality of the dental treatment I received there is excellent. I highly recommend this practice!

This was my first time going to a new dentist in over twenty years and I couldn’t have had a more pleasant experience! The ladies at reception were SO welcoming, and my hygienist made me feel so at home and comfortable. I came in to get a chipped tooth fixed and Dr. Mehta did a fantastic job! I was referred to Dr. Mehta by Dr. Velangi (implant) who was referred to me by Dr. Trent Lally (root canal). These guys are seriously like the Avengers of Dentistry! When I was a kid I had a dentist who was horrible, and I had been scared to get any major work done for the past 20 years. These 3 guys were professional, caring and extremely skilled in their crafts. Dr. Mehta’s office was so efficient and had impeccable communication, they even wear head sets. Every time I was going to ask for something they already thought of it. Dr. Mehta and Rosemerry were so patient with me through the process of getting my 2 front teeth made, they told me the room was mine until I am happy with the end product. I can now smile again, watch out ladies! Seriously thank you guys.

I Called to make an appointment for my son and Melissa got him in right away and was very pleasant on the phone. When we got there the front office staff was very friendly and the office was spotless clean! Kristen clean his teeth and was very thorough with his medical history and any concerns I had. After he had his teeth cleaned he saw Dr.Mehta for an exam and 2 cavities. Dr.Mehta was awesome!! my son has always been scared of the needle and he said he didn’t even feel the shot. He explained the process to him and that made him feel much more comfortable. We found a dentist for life I would never go anywhere else.

This is by far the best dental office I have ever been to! The staff is beyond amazing! I had to be seen quickly and they got me in right away. They scheduled me literally ten minutes after I called! It was so great! From the moment you walk through that door it is nothing short of absolutely pleasant. I am a person who is so afraid of going to the dentist because I’ve had a few awful experiences but the staff showed me kindness and compassion. The doctor is amazing as well. Today was an emergency visit. Melissa at the front desk was pleasant, full of smiles and concerned for the well being of everyone in the office. I especially was pleased to see her take everyone’s temperature when you first arrived. What I liked most is that she openly announced the patient’s temperature and that gave me peace of mind. Rosemary was super bubbly. She was singing and humming to the songs. I needed this burst of energy and positivity. She was very engaging and personable. I’ve never had someone hold my hand when getting a shot. She has such a kind and compassionate spirit. Dr Mehta also was personable and took the time to explain everything. He was gentle and displayed confidence. This is a great team and I’m so glad to have found my new dentist!

I am not generally afraid of the dentist, but it is an inconvenience to make an appointment and go, so like many I put it off until I know there is an issue. Also, back story, I chipped my front teeth when I was a kid, so dentists always have a range of recommendations on how to make it look good. Desert Smiles Dentistry is absolutely amazing with scheduling. I missed my appointment a few times and they had no issues rescheduling and did not charge me any fees. Then, at the actual dentist appointment, it was better than expected. They ask you how you think your teeth are from 1 to 10, which is interesting. They seem to care about you. For me, they started work on fixing my tooth that is in pain right away, the same day, rather then scheduling another appointment. That is good service! Ariel is awesome! Regarding my front chipped teeth, they asked me about them, but bai ally told me they would not really even care about it until everything else was 100% good. That is a bit different from other dentists who go immediately to grinding or pricing out veneers right away. Lastly, location, location, location. This place is close to my house and the highway!

I have been with the Desert Smiles family ever since I can remember. With they’re relocation and transfer of systems/dentists. They have always treated my family just like their own. The Invisalign orthodontics they have are amazing. I am currently finishing my last two trays and things have gone extremely smoothly. I had such an amazing experience at my exam. I would have to say the best experience I have ever had at a dentist. Mel the receptionist worked hard to accommodate my work schedule and was able to get me in on a cancellation. I am 67 years young, and I have never met a kinder, more honest dentist in my entire life. I feel like I finally found a fabulous dentist, as well as a wonderful man. He replaced a loose crown, by being careful and not ruining it. He was able to use it to glue back in after cleaning it. I have had 3 other dentists tell me there was no way to save it. One even said I needed a root canal! I would absolutely recommend Dr. Akhil Mehta, DDS to anyone looking for honesty, brains, and kindness.

I have been to a few dentist over the years and this place is top notch. They are quick to respond by phone, they call you and keep you aware of any changes with your appointment, and they are reasonable with their pricing from what I have experienced. Their customer service is above average. The dentist is friendly and attentive. Their hygienist are also amazing and do a great job at tackling the cleaning of your teeth and keeping you informed on what you should do better to maintain the health of your teeth. I have moved quite a distance from them but I still make the drive because I like them so much.

I was greeted with such warmth and smiles. The receptionist was taking care of me through out the entire way. As I was taken in the Dental assistant was super nice she had such Wonderful energy and a smile that is so welcoming. The office is so warming and pleasant. They even has toys and books for children to be entertained. I was taken care of in such a manner that I felt so great and comfortable. The staff and Dentist was very attentive to my needs. I fell in love with this place. They went over all my options and gave me recommendation for what I need to have done. I love this place. The only bad thing I have to say is that I wish we found it sooner! My husband and I found Desert Smiles 2 days before our insurance was discontinued and 4 days before an across country move- calling to schedule and appointment was a Hail Mary and they were able to accommodate us for a cleaning. During our visit it was discovered that my husband need pretty substantial work and I had a cavity. We were nearing the Memorial Day weekend and they had no more openings. Instead of sending us on our way with x-rays in tow, they schedule us for the very next day after hours. The hospitality we were shown was unlike anything else we had ever experienced. Most importantly the dentist and his technician were impeccable. Lastly, I forgot to mention we had a 6 month old with us. The staff made sure we all were comfortable and that during the work she could be with one of us at all times. I couldn’t have been more pleased with the service.

I’ve been coming here with my dad and sister for probably 6 years and they’re all so nice each time. Brittany was so adorable and we chitchatted the whole time and she made sure to keep the scraping on my teeth at a minimum which I really appreciated.
