The Boyd Dental Practice is simply the best in Manhattan. I have been going to Dr. Ned Boyd for the past eight years and have always been impressed by his professionalism, patience, and skill. He is personable, a wonderful listener, and exceptional at what he does. I had a broken tooth a few years ago and Dr. Ned came into the office on his day off to make a temporary crown for me so that I could go on a planned vacation with no worries. It is rare to find a dentistry practice that is consistently superior in every way. I have been a patient of Dr.Alvin Boyd for over 40 years and have recently seen Dr. Ned Boyd for specific work. Both doctors are authentically kind and efficient as with all the staff and Angela, the hygenist. The doctors inspire trust with their knowledge, expertise, and dedication to doing what is best for the patient. I cannot say enough great things about them. Even in the stressful times of COVID-19, they display a level of professionalism that is not typically experienced.

The care and attention I’ve received at Drs. Boyd is outstanding. Dr. Ned is my primary dentist, and he is extremely thorough, skilled, smart, and funny. He clearly explains all procedures and answers questions with ease and patience. Over the years, my main hygienists have been Jennifer Kuhn and Helen Schulberg, both of whom are excellent (and forgiving when I don’t live up to their high standards of home care!). The office is beautiful, immaculate and spacious, with a lovely waiting room–not that I’ve ever actually waited there; I’m generally shown to a procedure room as soon as I walk in the door! The receptionists submit claims directly to dental insurance and make scheduling appointments a breeze. I strongly recommend Drs. Boyd.

The staff at the front desk is always friendly, professionally courteous, responsive, and despite never looking hurried they are always quick. Everyone I see in the examination rooms — everyone — is all these things and more. My dental heath and cosmetic concerns are always fully addressed with dedication and sensitivity. These fine people provides me with excellent dental care and the feeling that I a valued part of the family. Bonus points for being in a building right above a subway entrance!

I’m in love with this office and I’m pretty sure I never thought I would say that about a dental office! The entire staff from receptionist to assistant to the dentist are on point with their work. I’m very much impressed and am quick to tell all my friends to come here. I went for a teeth whitening treatment and for 90 mins I was treated extremely well. The office is huge and you can tell it runs like a well oiled engine. Definitely go and see how wonderful they all are, shout out to Dr. Andrew!

Years ago a teacher told me ‘When you find the right accountant and barber stick with them.’ I’d like to add Dentist to this list. I’ve been seeing Drs Boyd for close to 20 years, and while they may be a little bit more expensive up front, you get what you pay for over the long haul in the quality of work. Also if Dr. Alvin Boyd ever retires, I know that with the next generation of Boyd’s already at the practice, that transition will be seamless and I’ll be well taken care of.

The Drs Boyd were recommended by close friends. They are utterly wonderful. Dr. Andrew who I saw had access to the most modern techniques and is also a master of gold work. Therefore he could diagnose the danger one ancient silver filling was in. And then had the “older” skill of using gold. Now I have a tooth saved and likely to stay that way. His assistant was as skilled at her vital role as Dr Boyd at his. The practice is clean and comforting. I recommend this practice with the highest enthusiasm.

Being fed up with mediocre dental practices for the past few years here in Manhattan, NY, I found Dr. Ned Boyd the3rd after running few Google searches. First thing I noticed from his website ( drsboyd.com ) was the fact that this is a family tradition of dentists in business since 1930… I was immediately drawn into this practice. After browsing and reading through his website I also noticed that they didn’t take insurance so my first thought was “wow ! So… they must be really exclusive” which made me even more interested in this practice since I was shopping for quality more than anything. I already knew from other doctors that I needed to have a root canal procedure done so I figured I’d pay good money to have it done correctly with an actual expert and not having a cheap/poor quality job done twice thus wasting money and time with some bullshit doctor out there. After visiting his office, being treated and completing my root canal/tooth crown by Dr. Ned III I have to say… You get what you pay for, you do get your money’s worth. Not only he is very knowledgeable and assertive with his diagnosis and/or procedures but he uses cutting edge technology ALL around… I mean the guy is like the “Bruce Wayne” of Dentistry. Overall my experience was very satisfactory, successful and I’ve got what I was looking for GREAT QUALITY DENTISTRY! Oh, and the same recognition goes for his wife down on the 7th floor, she was amazing as well in doing the root canal part of my treatment. Great couple! Thank you very much to both of you! Drs Boyd do everything possible to make your experience as painless and brief as possible. I changed cities in the middle of jaw reconstruction planning. I had braces- My orthodontist, Dr. M. Lemchen, knew Drs Boyd was the place for me to go because they communicate. They leave nobody in the dark and removed the leg/paperwork out of this very involved process. Since totally realigning my jaw, Dr. Ned has always delivered a strong lasting product, repairing all the damage a 30 year old underbite leaves and that includes self respect. I am lucky to be a Drs Boyd patient. Now excuse me, I MUST go floss.

I am a pre-dental student that spent the summer shadowing Dr. Justin, as well as all of the doctors at Drs. Boyd. When considering which practice to spend time at this summer, Drs. Boyd came highly recommended to me from a family friend who has been a patient for the past 15 years. I cannot say enough good things about this practice as a whole. As a student, I would spend the entire morning either in a treatment room observing as the doctors preformed procedures or in their lab as they prepared numerous appliances. Not only were all of the doctors extremely professional and knowledgeable in their subject areas, they were personable, accommodating and understanding with both the patients and myself. Knowing that not all of their patients would be comfortable with me viewing their procedures they were always considerate and cognoscente as to when it would be best for me to be in the treatment room. As true experts in their field, none of the doctors ever hesitated over my incessant questions, constantly inquiring about their techniques and decision-making. A special aspect of this office that may not been seen at every practice is that as a family business they act as a true team. The doctors are always asking each other for second opinions to ensure they make the right decisions 100% of the time. I feel as though my perspective on the business is unique because I was able to see the behind-the-scenes conversations to vouch for how concerned these doctors are for every patient. I learned so much in just a summer at the office and I hope that one day I will be a dentist as competent and caring as all of the doctors are at Drs. Boyd. I would recommend this practice to anyone in NY that is looking for top-notch dental care from a group of reliable and intelligent dentists.
