I have always dreaded going to the dentist but Dr. Bernal is incredibly honest, calming and efficient.  His staff is top notch, too! Everyone is extremely kind and they take such good care of me every single time. I’ve been going here for almost a year now and I’ve had the full range of procedures done – wisdom teeth removed, cavities filled and regular cleanings. I whole heartedly recommend East Austin Dental to anyone in the Austin area. Dr. Bernal is one of a kind and made pulling teeth a breeze!

This place is amazing. I was using a chain dental facility (Peak Dental) before and they tried to tell me I need this, that, and the other thing. When I switched over to East Austin Dental, they rebuffed all that. You can tell this place isn’t trying to create things that aren’t there just to make money. The Dr, hygienists, and front staff are always great, fast, and organized. Plus, they have screen on the ceiling that you can watch The Office! What’s not to love?

Was able to coax my 12 year old to Dr Bernal and Im sooo grateful to the whole staff who made our visit easy and comfy. Weve been set straight on good dental hygene and not in a negative way but a way that made us feel positive in taking back control before its too late! James brushed his teeth this morning w out me having to nag! Thank you East Side Dental! Oh and what a cool spot for a teenage boy!

I had been using a dentist in San Francisco over the past few years and it was costing me a fortune, not to mention everything that he did either cracked or fell out. Dr. Bernal not only fixed everything that my previous dentist had screwed up, but made the entire experience about a million times better in addition to higher quality work. I could actually feel the difference immediately the first time I ate after getting my dental work done by him. The office staff is so amazing, friendly and the office itself is a really great space. Would highly recommend Dr. Bernal to anyone!!

I can’t say enough good things about this dentist office. First, everyone is beautiful, kind and charming- they make you feel right at home and well taken care of. I’ve had a cleaning and a filling repaired (two different visits) and each time I felt little to no discomfort and was in and out under 40 minutes. The office itself is swanky and comfortable, it feels luxury. This dentist is as good as it gets!

Dr. Bernal cures dental anxiety. If that statement grabbed you’re attention then this review is for you. For the first time in 37 years, I’ve finally walked away from a dental appointment thinking “Wow… That was a really good experience.” I’m not saying “that wasn’t so bad” or “that was easy.” I mean this was the experience that convinced me to fix problems I’ve been putting off for years and preferred to forget existed. This was the experience that inspired me to join Yelp and write a review! Dr. Bernal and all the staff at East Austin Dental are wonderful and more than deserving of 5 stars.

★★★★★

Absolutely the best dental experience I’ve ever had. Have gotten a deep cleaning and two fillings repaired and was in and out in record time. The day after the deep cleaning, I would have never known I had it done. With other dentists in the last, my jaw would have been throbbing for weeks. Had two fillings replaced today… I was in and out in less than an hour. On top of all of this, they’ve got awesome art in the office and play great music. The staff is super nice. I can’t wait to go back for a cleaning in 3 months!

I have been a patient for a year (more or less) and done 2 cleaning visits and 1 set of x-ray. The doctor and assistants are very good and they have a great facility, very modern, neat and clean. Due to a sore throat and sickness, I had to cancel my last appointment. I was not charged the cancellation fee, which is good and I appreciate it because I do not wish to get anyone sick. My past concerns with East Austin Dental has been that it takes a few months to schedule any appointment, because they are all booked. However, I sent an email to the practice and the owner (Dr Bernal) contacted me right away. He did his best to find me an alternate time for an appointment. His phone call was very appreciated and it showed to me that East Austin Dental really cares about its patients and is genuinely trying its best to accommodate all of us. I was pleasantly surprised and felt very happy that he took time to call me to help me out.

I have to say, Dr Bernal is a real stand up guy, he really stands by his work. His practice is really awesome from start to finish. Very attentive to what’s going on, listens and makes it all better. I hope to continue coming here for many years. Do not hesitate to go to his practice you’ll never want to go anywhere else. Thank you Dr. Bernal.

I never thoght I would be leaving a five star review for one of my least favorite things (visiting the dentist) but here we are. Dr Bernal is great. He is knowledgeable, listens, and most of all, wont try to convince you to buy things/get procedures you don’t need. One time we only did one of two scheduled procedures and afterwards he walked with me up front to the receptionist and confirmed with them twice that I should not be charged for the second procedure. It really meant a lot that he cared so much that I was not overcharged. All of the receptionists and hygienists are super nice, easy to talk to, and personable. Dental work is so much more enjoyable with the awful looking (but so helpful) sunglasses and Netflix playing on the ceiling above you (yep, you can pick your own show.) Also, in true Austin fashion, the office is super funky and filled with art from Dr Bernal’s own collection. They also validate parking if you park in the Corazon garage (entrance on San Marcos St.)

Dr. Bernal is absolutely AMAZING! And all the staff – they are always so friendly and helpful. I love that I can watch Netflix while they do work – just need to remember to keep my laughter at bay during 30 Rock. I had bonding on my front 4 teeth due to some flecking of enamel coming off and causing divots in my teeth – it caused them to be discolored in weird areas and my teeth were very sensitive. I had some bonding done to them years ago but those kept chipping and they stained very easily. Dr. Bernal recommended veneers since the bonding kept chipping and I’m SO HAPPY he did! I looooooove my teeth and my smile more than I ever have! Can’t say enough good things about this place and Dr. Bernal – go here!!!!!

Did not think I could have an experience this amazing at the dentist. The staff was friendly (and sexy especially Jeff), the work was thorough/ affordable, and the whitening was free. The office is conveniently located off 35 in downtown Austin and the appointment was just as quick as it needed to be! Also you can watch Netflix above you during the appointment. I would highly recommend East Austin Dental to anyone looking for a Dentist in Austin.

Wow- the entire staff here is really amazing! I was having horrible tooth pain and was stressing about the surgery as well as the costs. Dr. Bernal and his staff went out of their way to assure me that everything would be okay and helped in every way they could. They made me feel calm and taken care of. I’ve always really dreaded the dentist and they really treated me with so much kindness. I am super grateful and will definitely be coming back. Come here for your general dental needs! They are truly wonderful!

I just moved here and found East Austin Dental on Yelp and could not be more pleased. They book up far in advance but the office team worked to get me in as soon as possible. The office is very cool and so is Dr. Bernal. He was honest with me that the cosmetic work I was requesting would not be best for my teeth in the long run, and suggested a more conservative route saving me hundreds of dollars. The work he did displayed attention to detail and I enjoyed the way he communicated with his patients and his team.

first dentist visit in 2 years…whoops! staff was friendly from time I called in to my teeth cleaning to meeting Dr. Bernal to even leaving after they took my money! Colette did a fantastic job cleaning my teeth and was even nice enought to say my teeth weren’t that bad, haha (she and team brought out the real tools , oh dang) . And why is it the attractive women are the ones to clean your teeth…I guess it is to motivate you to keep clean 🙂 Huge compliment to all the staff and especially front staff Lindsey and team! I recommend them and will be back. Oh and to mention I came 1 hour earlier and was prepared to wait but they squeezed me in and yes, they were full of appts that day so 6 stars for that!

Dr. Adrian Bernal and his staff are wonderful. I previously had dental trauma at other doctors in the past and I have sensitive teeth – I’m a tough case. Dr. Bernal and his assistant took the time and care to make me comfortable and ensure I was fully numb. The work was meticulous and PAIN-FREE. I had at least three cavities fixed. I am so thrilled I found this office. Very high-tech, all the latest equipment, and even great lighting (non-fluorescent) – this helps patients stay calm. You can watch TV overhead (Netflix). Good location with parking validation. This is not your stodgy grandpa’s dentist office – it’s very modern. I 100% recommend Dr. Bernal!

Stop looking and READ!!!! (And I never write reviews!!!) The office, staff, and Doctor Bernal is exactly what service, kindness, positive outlook, professionalism, and COURTESY is all about!!! I walked in with an emergency (false alarm) and was greeted with a smile, compliments, patience, water, and lots of pleasant conversation…the receptionist, Lindsey, is a doll… I was immediately taken back to where Dr. Bernal (also a hell of an artist) looked at my tooth, gave me x rays, and took the time to chat, check, and double check the situation…with no rushing from room to room…no schmoozing…and answering every question with thoughtfulness and care… A calm, smiling diagnosis with respect and no fillers…You feel like the only patient there…and there is no rush or business like atmosphere…quite a RARE combination in this day and age… WHO DOES THIS?!!’ They do… And with free parking, flexibility with appointments to do whatever it takes to see you, and taking so much time to LISTEN and deliver, this is your new dentist! Affordable and professional…with a calm, easy going bedside manner to boot??? Thank you for making my experience so easy, fun, and courteous!!! I’ll be back for a cleaning…and to chat with the best, fun staff there is out there! Thanks all! Eric ericoshea.com Comedian (NYC, Austin)

I had my first visit to East Austin Dental this week. I was greeted by very friendly staff, and asked to fill out a medical information form. I absolutely love that they have this on a laminated sheet, and that they give you a dry erase marker to fill it out. They save loads of paper this way! I had no wait upon arrival.  My dental hygienist Colette saw me immediately and was very friendly. She was also very thorough and did a good job with the x-rays, cleaning and flossing.  Dr. Bernal was also very thorough and I felt like he gave me very good information.  The office has a clean, modern feel.  Parking is in the garage on the west side of the building, and the dental office covers that cost.  Overall a very good first visit.

Almost afraid to let everyone know about how AWESOME this dental office is! Everyone in the office is simply wonderful – personable, friendly, remember your name. Dr. Bernal is patient and very gentle, making sure you are comfortable and all your questions are answered. Love being able to watch Netflix while having dental work – makes the time go by so quickly. Thanks to all the team – Lindsey, Mallory, Jeff and of course Dr. Bernal – y’all are The Best!

This is where you need to go, no need to look for any other place. East Austin Dental is fantastic! (and I hate exclamation marks). I have to get my teeth cleaned 4 times a year and dread it every time, but this place changes all that. The environment was warm and friendly; Lindsey was amazing at my paperwork and was so nice and sweet. Mallory was, well, I probably shouldn’t use the term Tyrannical Monster but….. Just Kidding; Mallory was an absolute pro at getting me set up and assisting the Doc; not to mention her excellent choice of flix for me to watch while being cleaned. I’m not sure who was nicer, Lindsey or Mallory. It was as if they were having some sort of contest to see who was more like an Angel. Gift bags? Are you kidding me? As for the cleaning and post cleaning care and suggestions, Adrian Bernal was perfect. That guy … my teeth were nasty, and that guy not only took his time cleaning and polishing, but was gentle while he did it . My teeth are way sensitive and I have no complaints. My teeth were handsome and presentable after he cleaned them. Afterwords, he gave me excellent and much needed suggestions without being a patronizing prick. This is the place.

Went for the first time today and am already looking forward to my next cleaning – my teeth feel squeaky clean and pearly white again! Free teeth whitening, welcoming staff, painless cleaning, catch up on your Netflix shows during the appointment… what’s not to love!?

After horrible experiences, I had not been to the dentist in years – eeek. From start to finish, the team at East Austin Dental was top notch and I’ve already told 3 close friends they should check it out. I felt they took noticeable extra precautions to deal with Covid19 and I left there feeling with a whole new outlook on “going to the dentist.” It’s modern, the team is very welcoming and warm, and they are not there to ‘drill and bill’. 5 stars across the board.

After looking around for a long while finally found a good dentist in Austin, now my dentist Dr. Bernal. Very happy and satisfied with extremely friendly and professional service. Location is awesome too, in the hip and happening part of the city, cherry on top they validate parking in the building property parking lot, can’t beat that deal. Tough to get short notice appointments clearly validates their excellent service and hence the high demand. What worked for me was calling regularly and checking for openings against cancellations and be ready to be seen on a short notice 🙂 I am a happy camper.

I hate going to the dentist which is why East Austin Dental was my first dentist appointment in over 5 years. All I have to say is this place is awesome and I’ve decided to make East Austin Dental my permanent dental office. Great staff, awesome office, affordable and Dr. Adrian Bernal is cool as sh*t. To top it all off, I watched Dumb and Dumber while my teeth were getting clean. Can’t get much better than that.

This is a first class office. Dr. Bernal and the entire staff at East Austin Dental are incredible. I went in this week with an incredibly painful headache caused by a cracked tooth. It was a difficult diagnosis as the tiny cracks in my tooth caused so much pain but were hard to see, even on xray. He ran different test to pinpoint the pain, and went out of his way to confer with other colleagues about the diagnosis to make sure I had all options for treatment. Dr. B was honest, up front and made me feel good about what was going on throughout the process. During these crazy times, safety was a priority for his office staff. They were prepared with hand sanitizer as you walk in the door and employees were wearing mask for everyone’s protection. And a nice bonus, you can bring a netflix show to watch during your appointment on the screens in the ceiling!

Michael N. from Buda, TX (Source: Yelp)

★★★★★

One word to describe this practice: HONEST. Dr. B and his staff are awesome. I bit a cherry seed pretty hard a few months ago and thought I broke one of my front teeth. It was loose and bleeding at the gum. I came into the office about 5 minutes before closing. Dr. B graciously took the time to see me that day, and schedule me for a follow up the next week with Dr. Potter. I have friends with nightmare stories about their dentist over diagnosing their issues…leading to unnecessary work being done. This translates to more money going out if their pockets. With my issue, Dr. B could have very well told me my tooth needed a root canal and a new crown (which I’ve done before…and it ain’t cheap)…and I probably would’ve went along with it. But he and Dr. Potter didn’t over diagnose and was conservative with my treatment plan. Dr. Potter actually splinted my loose tooth using the two surrounding teeth. This allowed the loose tooth’s ligaments to heal back up. I live over 15 miles away in Hays County and don’t mind the long drive for an honest dentist.

Kexin Y. from Austin, TX (Source: Yelp)

I found East Austin over a year ago when my previously incompetent dentist in Lubbock failed to tell me my teeth needed serious maintenance. I came in for a root canal, and everyone was soooo nice and accommodating! Dr. Bernal and all of the staff genuinely care about you, and going to the dentist is no longer a chore because of the level of care I know I will receive. Dr. Bernal just finished repairing all of my teeth (thanks incompetent Lubbock dentists!!!) and I know I am in more than capable hands with him as my dentist. Also, small aside – I have a pretty difficult name to pronounce in English because my name is mandarin, and everyone here makes sure they pronounce it correctly which means a lot. It shows how much this place cares about their clientele, and I am sad that I am leaving Austin in a year because I love this place so much 🙁 Tl:dr- come here if you need dental work done!!

AMAZING, I wish I could give 6 stars! I had not had my teeth cleaned in close to 2 years. I know, that’s gross but the last dentist I went to I just wasn’t extremely happy with. I finally booked an appointment with East Austin Dental on a recommendation from a friend and I will tell you, I have found my dental office for life! Not only is the atmosphere and design of the office really cool, everyone I met working there is awesome. I am a very organized person but life still gets hectic so the confirmation call from Lindsay was really great to make sure I didn’t miss my appointment. She also called a few weeks ahead of my schedule to let me know they could squeeze me in earlier from a cancelled appointment. I wasn’t able to make it that day so she was happy to keep me in my current appointment. As soon as I came into the office I was immediately greeted by Lindsey and one of the assistants, Jason. Everyone was so friendly, it really calmed my nerves about going to the dentist. I was asked to complete paperwork and as soon as I was done, they were ready for me. NO waiting time! I also made sure to be on time for my appointment though. I work in a business where I am meeting with people constantly so I understand how important it is to be punctual or at least let them know if you’re going to be running late. I was then greeted by Colette, who would be the hygienist cleaning my teeth that day. I’m not sure where they found this girl, she’s so incredibly friendly and just a genuine person. She made small talk but I could tell she actually cared about what I had to say which is rare in this world. She talked me through what she would be doing then asked what I wanted to watch on Netflix. The TV on the ceiling is such an awesome touch. The chair was extremely comfortable as well. I get a little nervous going to the dentist but Colette was incredible. She is extremely gentle and I wasn’t in any pain at all which is a lot less than I can say about my last dentist visit. She even apologized a few times because she had to dig in hard in a few spots but I still never felt any pain. She was concerned about one tooth and that I might have the beginning of a cavity. At this point I thought I was going to be paying a lot more of out of pocket. At this point she brought Dr. Bernal in to meet with me. She showed him the area she was concerned about so he could take a look. After they both reviewed the x-rays they concluded that it could potentially turn into a cavity but they would just watch it for now. I definitely didn’t expect that from a dentist, I just assumed they would try to get as much money out of me as possible. This was such a pleasant surprise to actually be treated like a human being and not just a cash cow. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate both of their diligence and assessment. Speaking of Dr. Bernal, this is the coolest dentist I have ever met. Not only did he serve for our country but he’s an awesome artist with a lot of his work adorning the walls of the office. Overall his demeanor, staff, and office made me feel extremely comfortable. My teeth are all clean now and I feel great, but I can’t wait to go back in 6 months for my next appointment!

Since childhood I’ve been absolutely mortified to go to the dentist! So…I just NEVER go! I’ve never in my entire life left a dentist office happy until yesterday. I can’t stop smiling either! I was so scared and embarrassed about the condition of my teeth going in but Adrian and his whole staff made me feel so positive and comfortable about them. They’re all just so chill! I’m actually looking forward to my visit next month. Living in Austin or not, I will look no further for another dentist until I die or he retires! lol No joke. Cheers!

Today was the first time at this office and the first time I’ve gone to the dentist since I moved here to Austin and I have to say I don’t think I’m ever gonna change. This is probably the only place I really felt comfortable and everyone was so nice which made my nervousness go away! My procedure went smoothly and quickly! Having the tv play Netflix while all that is going on is definitely nice to have and something I’ve never gotten at any other office. TL;DR: if you’re looking for a new dentist I highly recommend them and also you can park inside the building I didn’t know they validate your parking which makes it’s super convenient!

It was a no brainer to give 5 stars to Dr. Bernal and his staff. I like to think I have some extra insight into the dental world having been a dental hygienist for 20 years. I am particular to say the least about my teeth and who takes care of them. First off the front desk is very friendly and efficient. They are paperless which is awesome, yay environment!! Parking in Austin can be a challenge, but not here! Plenty of parking in the parking garage and they validate!! Now to the dental cleaning, which I happen to love of course. My partner however, has very sensitive teeth and going to the dentist is not her favorite thing to do. I had cleaned her teeth for the last 4 years, now that I am retired it was time for a new hygienist. In comes Colette, super sweet, great chair side manner and great cleaning! Colette is very thorough, but gentle which are two very important qualities to have in a hygienist. My partner was very happy with Colette and will only be seeing her for future cleanings..success!! Dr. Bernal, where to start. Important qualities to me are honesty, great dental work (only if I really need it) and a calming chair side manner. If these are important to you then look no further because he is all of these. So quit looking around you found the right place!!

I will never go to another dentist again if I don’t have to. Dr. B and his staff are THE BEST!!! I have been a loyal patient for 2 years and in that two years we have preformed a lot of work and my gums have never been in better health. I don’t fret going to the dentist anymore. Here the whole team is welcoming, knows me by name, and they do what’s best for me. I would rate East Austin Dental with 10 stars if I could.

So happy to find East Austin Dental! Called to make a first time appointment and was super easy to schedule. Got on the list in case someone cancelled and was able to get in way sooner than my original appointment. I love the environment when you enter. Great music playing, artwork everywhere and very professional staff. My whole experience from the x-rays, teeth cleaning, and getting a cavity filled was enjoyable. Look forward to my check up!
