I have suffered from dental work anxiety since childhood (traumatized with painful exams, an impatient dentist and loud and awful dental instrumentation 40+ years ago) and it has always caused me to postpone dental work because I truly dread it. When a dental emergency happened two months ago, I was forced to face and fix a largely self created dental problem. I searched and found Gramercy Dental Studio with its great reviews and met Dr. Ira Newman. In a word, he is wonderful. His skills and excellence as a dentist are exceeded only by his gentle, supportive and warm disposition. He skillfully managed me, with my anxiety, and did extensive work for me over a course of weeks that was virtually painless. He also expertly referred me to a endontist, who was as kind and supportive as Dr. Newman, for the additional work that Dr. Newman assessed that I needed for good health. Dr. Newman finished my major dental work today and I couldn’t be happier with the result and the care I received from him. The staff at Dr. Newman’s office, especially Ashley, are superb too. They are highly professional and very pleasant on the phone and from the minute you walk in the door. The atmosphere in the office is positive and calm (lovely jazz melodies always playing!). I highly recommend this dental practice; and especially recommend it for anyone like me with anxiety about dental work.

One of the best dentist I have been! Dr. Newman is very patience, professional, honest, and care about the patient. He made the whole process very stress free and nice. The office staff are nice and helpful. The hygienist is also very professional and nice. I highly recommend and will definitely come back again!

I am always hesitant to use a new dentist but when this new office with state of the art facilities opened, i thought id give it a try. They exceeded all my expectations and Dr Newman was very careful,explained everything to me before and during my procedure . Lastly, i expected high prices for the city but theirs were very fair.

So grateful that I found Dr. Newman. I was reluctant to see a dentist after a bad experience 7 years ago. Every staff member at this office is so kind and want the best for you. I recently had my first visit with Dr. Newman. Certainly, nobody enters a dentist’s office without some trace of anxiety. But upon entering Gramercy Dental, all the smiles and welcomes of the staff put one quickly at ease. Dr. Newman gives a running narrative of what’s happening as it’s happening, which I much appreciated. Anesthesia was liberally dispensed and my pain-free procedure was soon completed. Highly skilled and personable dentistry practiced here. Cheers to the staff. I just had a follow-up visit with Dr. Newman. I walked into his office with a problem involving a particular tooth, the solution for which I was already aware of. Yet, after some discussion with Dr. Newman, he came up with an alternative procedure to solve the problem. He introduced me to a relatively new technique known as Biomimetic Dentistry. At the completion of the visit (less than an hour) I had a new tooth. Dr. Newman literally sculpted a new tooth for me. I know that sounds impossible, so I’ll repeat it. He sculpted me a new tooth! A tooth with all the form and curves of the original. My tongue darts to that tooth and signals to me: “Wow! New tooth!” And I must say, “No, tongue, it’s not a new tooth; it’s a Newman Phenomenon!” This morning I had a particularly crunchy breakfast cereal— something I would not have dared yesterday. Needless to say, I am smiling again. Thank you, Dr. Newman.
