What I like about this dental office is the wonderful people who work there. Victoria, at the front desk is friendly and helpful. Sarah gives me a good dose of gas, so my pain is never a problem. She is also a very careful and gets my teeth and gums as clean as possible. Dr. Skeens treats people like they’re his friends and doesn’t suggest things that are not needed. My husband and I travel more than 30 miles to get there and it is so worth it.

I have been going to Dr. Skeens for the last 15 years. Each and every visit is met with the upmost expertise and extremely knowledgeable staff. Sarah, during a recent cleaning, found a hole in my crown. After Dr. Skeens removed the crown the decay turned out to be significant and there was a good chance I could lose the tooth. However, Dr. Skeens took his time and with his many years of experience was able to save the tooth. So grateful. I don’t have enough good things to say about Dr. Skeens, and his office staff. They are wonderfully professional and make you feel safe secure/not afraid every step of the way. I’m new to the practice but it was my first experience and having the doctor make my crown in one day visit while I’m in the office no second appointment. What an amazing way to save time and the crown fit perfectly no issues. Sara the hygienist is unbelievably GREAT. Due to recent orthodontic treatments my lower teeth are no longer crowding each other. Exposing stains that have been there most of my life probably. I came here with the suggestion of my wife and he is far and away the best dentist with the best practice I have ever been to. I was most impressed with how thorough everything was from the 3D scan of all your teeth to the imaging aspect. I had no idea you could even see your teeth that way. It’s too bad all the good reviews of this terrific dentist are in the “not recommended” page. Please read them — I agree with what people say. Dr. Skeens has a great chairside manner, knows what he’s doing, and tells you what’s going on every step of the way. He has a great staff as well, from the people at the front desk to his dental hygienist, who is very thorough. I have to admit, I had kind of a negative image of a lot of dentists — just interested in making a lot of money, uncaring about their patients, etc. Dr. Skeens is the exact opposite of this. Read his biography; you can see this is the kind of person you want to have taking care of your teeth.

In February of 2007 I purchased this long term dental office from a previous dentist who started it in 1986. The business has been around for 30 years. In January of 2014 we moved into our brand new state of the art facility, which is in the same exact business park as the old office, but is now visible from Encinitas Blvd. My name is Dr. Greg Skeens and I attended Chaffey College for 3 years and then 2 more years at Cal State San Bernardino majoring in Biology. I worked at Frito-lay paying my own way through college. I graduated with a 3.85 overall GPA. I attended Loma Linda University School of Dentistry for 4 years on a Navy scholarship. I finished all clinical requirements 6 months early and then became a faculty member at the dental school until graduation in May 2001. Upon graduating I completed a one year Advanced Education in General Dentistry(AEGD) residency. Then I spent two years deployed with a marine unit where I was the sole Dentist for 2,220 marines overseas on a ship and in Kuwait, Iraq, and Kenya. During this deployment I providing several hundred native people with Humanitarian dental care. After the Navy I purchased my office in Feb 2007 in Encinitas. Seven years later we moved into our brand new state of the art facility in January 2014.
