I should have written this review a decade ago but here we are. Dr Yoo is awesome. Plain and simple. Let’s keep it real, I am a huge, HUGE chicken when it comes to dentists. Even worse, I have crap teeth and gums. Never once in all my 10 years of seeing Dr. Yoo have I ever felt scared, uncomfortable or in pain. I always leave saying “I’m so glad I came. I feel so much better!”. If you need a dentist, your a huge baby, only want necessary procedures at fair prices, Dr. Yoo is your guy. Also, Louis, Dr. Yoo’s assistant is the perfect mix of professional and comforting. GO! You know you’re overdue for a cleaning!

Dr. Yoo is very knowlegible and recommends the right procedure.Always pain free. He is also very down to earth, patient and kind. He takes time to answer questions and concerns. Can’t say enough good things about this office. You MUST SEE for yourself!! If you have ANY dental fears, DEFINITELY go see Dr. Yoo. You’ll love him.

I’m embarrassed to say this but I only see dentists whenever I’m in need of specific services like crowns or a wisdom teeth removal. I personally have been traumatized as a child going to the dentist so it’s been really hard for me to just go in let alone for a check up. I knew that the older I get, the more I need to take care of myself. It’s recommended to get a teeth cleaning every six months which I have neglected for 10+ years. I know gross but I’m telling you, I just couldn’t get over my fears for a long time. After reading the reviews and the fact that I’m not too far from Hana Dental, I had the courage to see Dr. Yoo. He was an angel. I expressed my concerns and he took care of me. Him and his staff. Not once did I feel like he was trying to upset me anything. He didn’t express any concerns and told me that I can go ahead and come back to get other work done when I was ready. Highly recommended if you’re afraid of going to see a dentist. Thank you so much Dr. Yoo.

It was that time again. ..Or as many of us know, it had already been way past that time. With money being tight & heading home for the holidays, I needed some crucial work done on the disaster I’d created for myself when I was younger. I didn’t think twice when it came to who I needed to call. This gem of a practice in Koreatown, on Wilshire Blvd, is run by one of, if not the best dentists I’ve ever been to. Dr. Yoo’s office is clean, professional, and utilizes the most current technology. Along with a friendly personality, great techs (Luis is the man), and affordable care, I’m not sure why anyone in Los Angeles would go anywhere else. I was able to get an appointment quickly, and now am excited, and unworried about biting into mom’s Xmas turkey when I fly home next week.

This review has been due for a month, but here I am. I discovered Dr. Yoo/Hana Dental on Yelp, after much research on dentists who are experts in root canals and also do not charge an arm and a leg, as we didn’t have insurance. First, Dr. Yoo and his assistant Luis are extremely skilled in their profession. Dr. Yoo seems to have his own techniques that he has mastered over time it seems! Additionally, they both know how to calm nervous patients, are extremely well mannered, and very humble. My 75 year old mom, was petrified to see a dentist, but Dr. Yoo handled her anxiety so well from the minute we met him. He explained what was to be done, answered all our ‘detective-style probing’ questions, and made my mother feel extremely comfortable. I watched in complete admiration throughout the two sittings at the finesse with which he did his work. He and Luis are a class act together. Luis seemed to read Dr. Yoo’s mind expertly handing him instruments etc as needed. The root canal did not hurt one bit shockingly, and my mom did not have to take a single painkiller. Dr. Yoo, you have a major fan. You should have heard my mom describing how simple the root canal turned out to be. Well, experts always make things look simple right? So to all, if you ever need dental work, do not think twice, head to Hana Dental for the best work.

This dentist has a gift! I am very happy to find Dr.Yoo. Both him and his staff are very friendly and professional. I came in for a broken and half finished molar that was giving me much pain and  trouble for years due to other dentists. I had a cracked molar with a build up. The Previous dentist spent hours painfully trying to get my crown on using Novocain.  They told I would need extensive surgery to cut back my gums to place a crown. By this point I was very stressed and needed to make sure. So I heard about Dr Yoo and decided to visit his office. He was very patient and understanding of my stress  despite being busy he was still able to crack jokes and make ease of the situation. **** HERE IS THE Best part:  he removed the build up with ease and placed a crown on that has been solid and he did not use any Novocain! There was not one bit of pain. I heard other people review say the same thing and it wasn’t until I experienced it that I understood. It was like miracle. What’s really great about dr Yoo is that he won’t brag. He is very humble. I almost decided not to go with him at first because it seemed as though he was not confident in treating me. But as soon as I had the procedure done i realized its his humbleness. His rates are very fair as well. I highly recommend his practice and I intend to go to him for my next big procedure because I have confidence that he will help me with my next procedure.

Dr. Yoo is excellent at what he does and has changed my perspective on dentistry. I walked in expecting pain and received none. Not quite sure what he does but all of my visits there were 98% pain free, I thought that was amazing. But he has a technique that is really working. Never have I been to a dentist in which, I’ve walked out every single time pain free. Not to mention that I never needed any pain medication after the numbing wears off. I have been going to his office for four months due to the excessive amount of work that needed to be done. He had to pull two teeth and it was pain free as well a couple of root canals. NO PAIN. I’ve recommended him to a co-worker who has been going to him and has nothing but good things to say about him. He made the entire process very easy for me. The staff is very friendly and his assistant is also very nice and very experienced. The receptionist is very sweet and would always call to remind me of my appointments, not because she had to but due to the fact that I would always forget what day I had to go in. I would recommend him to anyone who is afraid of the dentist. He will change that and make it a much pleasurable experience.

Dr. Jason Yoo at Hana Dental was the first dentist I have ever trusted. It’s amazing how he has little tricks that he has developed to minimize or even eliminate pain. I barely feel a thing when he injects a needle in my mouth – I don’t know how he does it but it works! I have been a loyal customer since 2004 and he has been consistently excellent the entire time. His assistants have also all been top notch – they handle the x-rays, cleaning and scaling professionally and they are also all friendly. The review about the receptionist is a bit unfair. She speaks English but her first language is Korean. Koreans can get a bit flustered or nervous when speaking English, especially if you get aggressive with them. For the first 10 minutes or so, I spoke to her strictly in English and she handled my insurance and other sign-in paperwork fine. When I busted out the Korean she was more friendly and relaxed but her English was fine too. But to me it’s all about the experience in the dreaded dental chair, and Dr. Yoo makes it smooth and easy. The best!

I went to Hana Dental to complete a crown on a recently root canal-ed tooth. The other dentist wanted $2000 for a crown! Hilarious. I found Hana Dental online and made an appointment. Glad I did. Dr. Yoo is super patient and vigilant about your comfort level. Absolutely NO PAIN (not even any pain from the poke of the Novocain needle). He performed the dental work quickly and effectively. The cost of the crown was even cheaper then his receptionist quoted ( he gave me a deal- a quarter of what the other dentist wanted) and the crown it’s self is better then the one the other dentist wanted to charge me $2000 for, both in strength and appeal. I was so impressed that I decided to have him do work on the rest of my teeth (at a huge discount again). This guy is my dentist for life. Go there. You will be happy you did.

I simply cannot rave highly enough for these guys. From the receptionists to the hygienists, to Dr. Yoo, everyone is warm and friendly, helpful, caring, professional, and affordable. I don’t have dental insurance, and as someone who fears the dentist anyway, I was scared I’d be forever doomed to horror stories of maltreatment and misconduct in my mouth. How wrong I was. How LUCKY I was to stumble into Hana Dental for a raging root canal a few years ago. Since then, and a couple more root canals later, I am so grateful to Dr. Yoo and his team for all the care they have given me, always going above and beyond what is expected. I am no longer scared of going to the dentist, either for the pain in my mouth or my purse. If you are looking for a dentist, RUN don’t walk to Hana Dental.
