The experience was already pleasant before I even went in. Both of the front desk ladies were polite and professional when answering the phones AND kept their promises. Sarah Garcia, at the front desk, went out of her way to answer all of my questions, and if she didn’t know the answer, she told me she would call me or email me when she found the answer… and she WOULD find out and call me or email me later. She made sure my files from my last dentist were sent over promptly and kept in contact with me daily, giving me updates and never left me hanging or made me feel like a nuisance. I really, really felt taken care of. When I went into Healthy Smiles, I felt comfortable because it was clean and they had the latest equipment – the last dental office I went to had very old equipment, and the staff there was friendly, but almost too friendly and too laid back to the point where it was unprofessional. It almost felt like a room full of students/interns – maybe they were; I don’t know. Anyway, I didn’t feel this way at all @ Healthy Smiles. I felt like I was in a friendly, professional, and clean environment. Dr. Lu is probably the best dentist I’ve ever been to. He made me feel safe. I went in to get some cavities filled, and I was super nervous because I hate needles…especially near my mouth. Dr. Lu could sense I was nervous and was very patient with me and explained everything in detail before he did anything…and he was actually GENTLE which isn’t something I’ve experienced with many dentists. He made me feel like an important person, not like a number, not like someone he wanted to get out of his hair. AND he called me about 2 hours later and asked me how I was feeling!!! Never have I experienced this top quality care anywhere. I will definitely be making Dr. Lu my primary dentist. Thank you Healthy Smiles for making me feel safe and taken care of!

Dr. Lu is an exceptional dentist. What I mean by exceptional is that he is non judgmental and offers suggestions on the best way to have a healthy smile! I have had several fillings lately and each time he is patient, kind and compassionate in his approach for me to find the best way to prevent cavities. I also had a crown done this week and he answered the phone after hours, scheduled my appointment the next day and was able to start the crown that same day! He was very sensitive to check in with me that I did not feel any pain during the procedure! I had absolutely no pain afterwards or soreness whatsoever! Remarkable, I am so grateful for his attentive staff and ease to not only schedule an appointment but for the highest level of care given through out the entire procedure. Dr. Lu even called me that same night to check up on me.

I’m still a pretty new patient here but so far what I have to say is that the staff at Healthy Smiles Dental Center really know how to make a person feel comfortable and cared for in a setting that is usually associated with high pitched drills, cold halls and pain. This office is far more calming than other places I’ve been to, and Dr.Lu has always been friendly and thorough with both his procedures and explanations for treatment.

I have been very pleased with this office for several years and confident that when Dr. Lu took over the practice that I would be happy with the change. Dr. Lu is knowledgeable and professional. I’m confident in his abilities. His chair side manner is incredible. His interest in me is genuine and he takes the time to explain each step of the procedure. When I had a simple old filling replaced, he uncovered that I needed a root canal. I was surprised to learn that he could do it right then. In the past I would have had to make an appointment with a specialist,etc. he could have asked me to come back another day. Instead, he did the root canal right then and I returned the next day for the crown work. He was able to work me in during his regular schedule the next day. I highly recommend Dr. Lu as well as his team of Candace,Tina , Andrea and Faviola.

If you’re looking for amazing dentists with lots of knowledge, updated equipment, and a friendly staff then, you need to check out Healthy Smiles. Dr. Lu was very friendly and informative. Dr. Dich Lu definitely exceeded my expectations. He loves what he does and he’s good at it! I’m usually not one that loves to go to the dentist, but I’ll definitely come back. Dr. Lu’s website presented his office as very welcoming. I called right as the Covid-19 lockdown started unfortunately, but Dr. Lu said he would check everything out to see if I could come in for an appointment when restrictions were relaxed. Going with Dr. Lu seems to be one of the best decisions I’ve made in my entire adult life. He is a kind, gentle, honest, informative and awesome dentist with a great team. I’ve had two different dental assistants while visiting and they were both amazing. Only after a few visits I am smiling so much more. We have a bit of a ways to go, but I am so thankful for Dr. Lu and the work he has done so far. Also, Sarah at the front desk is awesome and super thorough with explaining treatment plans. Great service. Great staff. Clean and modern office. Dr. Lu is very thorough and gentle. He takes his time and doesn’t rush you. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Love the TV monitors at each chair. Appointments always run on time too. I never have to wait more than a minute or two upon arrival. I do not normally enjoy going to the dentist but I definitely look forward going to see Dr. Lu and his staff. My family and I were patients of the former dentist and when she retired I was curious as to how things would go with the new guy. I was pleasantly surprised by his polite manners and his staff were fantastic as usual. This office has a unique feel to it and everyone from the front desk to the hygienist, Tena, to the assistants are amazing! I found Healthy Smiles through a lot of searching on the internet. I needed somewhere that accepted my university’s insurance, and had a capable/experienced dentist. There are so many clinics to choose from, and the reason I came here was because the reviews I found indicated he is not only a competent dentist but a friendly person. I’m happy to say Dr. Lu fulfills all the criteria I deem important. He cleaned my teeth thoroughly, explained to me problems I have and may face depending on how I proceed to take care of my teeth (both by myself and procedurally vis-a-vis professional care). I did not think there was any misinformation, as I had experienced with other dentists elsewhere. My previous experiences with various dentists include those either completely incompetent/awful or simply didn’t care for anything other than how much they can charge. Dr. Lu answered all of my questions concisely and precisely. He was courteous and treated me with the respect of an intelligent adult, which I appreciate. Furthermore, he gave definitive scientific bases for why certain procedures should be followed with regards to dental care, oral hygiene, and overall preventative measures to keep one’s mouth in good condition. My impressions of Dr. Lu are such that he will be able to intelligently answer any questions/concerns I may have in the future. Any medical professional should be able to convey all the implications for any procedure the patient chooses to undergo or forego. After all, how can a patient make an informed decision if his doctor keeps relevant information away from him? Simply having a license is a necessary but insufficient condition to being a good doctor. This has been my best dental experience so far.

Found this place through Zocdoc and the online recommendation didn’t fail. Dr.Lu and his office do stellar work. They are super on top of scheduling appointments and reminders. Whenever I come in I barely have a wait before being attended. After getting work done on my molars I am very happy with my results and much more comfortable with my smile. Their recommendations for future work are always well described and never pushy about it. The office is small and located around a shopping center in Santa Ana near the famous south coast plaza. I had a bunch of cavities and impacted molars that caused a lot of discomforts. After going to them for the last two years, My teeth is finally back in shape and even did Invisalign. A family member recommended this office to me when I was having a brutal toothache that kept me awake all night. This office was able to squeeze me in for an emergency appointment. I had seen a previous dentist who referred me to another specialist to take care of my painful tooth which needed a root canal. Luckily, this office does most procedures so I did not need to go to another doctor. They even worked during their lunch time to get me out of pain and to make sure I could sleep that night with any throbbing pain.
