I actually came to Thelen and his team about 2 years ago, in a last minute effort to use the dental insurance I was about to lose thanks to leaving my job. My mom’s afraid of dentists so I’ve been maybe twice in my life – as a result, my teeth aren’t in the greatest shape. I’ve heard horror stories of people basically being shamed by their dentist so I put off going for a long time. Eventually I settled on Thelen because he was close enough to my home that I could run back and hide under the bed if needed. Thelen and his team were so good that first time, I’ve waited 2 years to go back to him. My husband has perfect teeth (not a cavity to speak of – damn him), and I can honestly say that they treat me no differently than they do him. I really appreciate the professionalism here. I’ve had: routine cleanings, root canals, fillings and crowns done (told you I was in bad shape), and on my most recent visit (around the middle of May) I had a tooth extracted. Yanked right out of my head! All of the services performed have been impeccable – Thelen and his team are great at making you feel comfortable (as comfortable as you can feel in a dentist’s chair, anyway) and are very, very good. Yes I heard the drill in my head; that’s pretty unavoidable. What I didn’t feel was any pain during my procedures (the worst being a small “pinch” when they shot me up with the numbing agent for the root canals and tooth extraction) or shame about the condition of my teeth. I wouldn’t say I look forward to going to the dentist, but I definitely dread it a lot less knowing that I’m in great hands with this team.
