Dr Khorsandi is a most professional, an expert oral surgeon I have ever met. For three years I was suffering from dental implant malpractice with its dire consequences. Hopefully with expert doctors we could eliminate all lethal problems ; extraction of the failed implant, infection of IAN nerve, etc, etc. However, one problem lingered; I had terrible clicking in my jaw following the pain in temporomandibular joint , which doctors diagnosed as TMJ. No. It was not. It was a misguided diagnosis not indicating the real source of the problem. Dr Khorsandi detected a hard abscess on the implant metal left from previous infection, and also a bone recession. Dr Khorsandi had performed a most difficult and challenging surgery cleaning up the dental implants, bone grafting them from anew. My jaw clicking disappeared – I feel a perfect balance in my mouth, which before was slanted. I can not thank enough Dr Khorsandi. Dr. Khorsandi is a man who would detect the problems and give you back not only your health, but also your human dignity and self -esteem treating you as his own.

I would highly recommend Dr. Sam to anyone who is wants to improve their appearance and overall confidence, they should consider dental implants. I had lost several rear and front teeth due to gum disease and saw a denture plate in my future. Because of my fears, I thought that implants would be an extremely uncomfortable procedure, but, with Dr. Sam’s technique there was a minimum amount of discomfort. I was considering dentures, but, when presented with idea of dental implants, it was easy for me change and start the dental implant work. I have several dental implants, front and rear and it was not as uncomfortable as I expected it to be, plus Dr. Sam works quickly and considers the patients overall comfort during the procedures, so that there is a minimum amount of discomfort. Overall, I am totally satisfied with my implants. My diet has improved, I can eat healthier, salads, nuts, meats, all that I had to give up before, since all my molars were is such bad shape. Before, smiles were not a part of my profile, now, I just can’t wait to show off my brand new smile from ear to ear.

I was so nervous to get implants. It sounded like it was going to be something painful. I’ve had friends tell me horror stories about their implants, but I’ve got to tell you that I am not exaggerating when I say this was a walk in the park. I am so blessed that I was introduced to Dr. Khorsandi. It actually happened after an implant complication where my bone did not heal and my 3 implants failed to take. I was a mess durning my consultation with Dr. Khorsandi just not knowing how could this situation be repaired. He calmed me, explained that he will make sure that this is repaired correctly and that he’s not going to let me cry anymore but only start to smile again. He is so gently and caring to his patients. The following day after my surgery he called in the morning to check to see how I was feeling and to make sure I picked up my prescriptions. I wish that I can give him more than 5 Star Rating.

I was referred to Dr. Khorsandi and highly recommended. I am 64 years old and have had very bad experience with dentists. Whenever I had any work done It was always painful. I expressed this to Dr. Khorsandi he said you will not feel pain well thanks be to God he extracted a tooth pain free. I’ve been putting off a much needed dental procedure for years. My consultation with Dr. Khorsandi and his thorough explanation is what made me finally say, “Yes. Let’s do it.” Dr. Khorsandi took the time to explain what was needed and why it was important not to delay any longer. My procedure was spread out over two visits and the care I received was wonderful. A next day phone call from Dr. Khorsandi after both visits was an unexpected gift. DR. SAMUEL KHORSANDI is an amazing Periodontist. I was advised over 3 years ago by my regular Dentist to be on the safe side and get checked out by a Periodontist. During that time, I went to three different Dental Offices and saw two Periodontists for evaluation. I was not happy with any of them. It felt like they were pushing me into signing an expensive contract which it turns out they were. My wife and I looked on Yelp and saw that two of the Dental Offices we had been at had a 1.5 star rating. Patients who wrote reviews said they were pushed into signing a contract and that poor work had been done. I decided to keep looking. As it turns out, I happen to mention to my hair dresser that I was looking for a good Periodontist and if he knew of any. He said he did and he mentioned Dr. Samuel Khorsandi. I gave the office a call and set up an appointment. The moment you walk into the office, you notice how clean and well organized it is. Christina will greet you at the front desk and take care of you immediately. She is delightful and really does an excellent job at keeping things moving. I had barely signed in when they called for me. It was a privilege to meet Dr. Samuel Khorsandi. His presence and character put you at ease as he is a very gentle man. He evaluated my situation and gave me a meticulous and precise diagnosis. I was pleasantly surprised when he told me how much it would cost. It was very reasonable for the work that had to be done. On the day of the surgery, again, Christina got me right in. Dr. Khorsandi is a top specialist in periodontal disease and I hardly felt a thing from the numbing to the completion of the surgery. Dr. Khorsandi is very gentle with his hands and he and his assistants make sure you are always comfortable and relaxed. Everything went great. He was fast, gentle and did an amazing job. The whole experience was very pleasant and I healed quickly with little to no pain. Dr. Khorsandi is such of a caring Periodontist he called me the next morning to check and see how I was doing and if everything was okay. I couldn’t recommend Dr. Samuel Khorsandi and his team enough. If you want the best in the business and someone who is gentle, caring and does excellent work, give Dr. Samuel Khorsandi’s office a call for a visit. You will be pleasantly surprised. Getting dental implants is a bit intimidating, but Dr. Khorsandi brings a smile to this reviewer! As anxious as I was about removing a tooth and getting it ‘drilled out’ it was TOTALLY Painless. He practices Superior safety when arriving to his workplace in Downey with hand sanitizer to his PPE and even his staff following safe practices during this ‘crisis’ Phase 2 of getting the implant was also TOTALLY Painless….Wow!! Dr. Sam was attentive and professional during my dental visit. Because of gum disease, 95% of my molars were extracted. Full dentures were in my future, which I did not want. After a consultation with Dr. Sam, he explained the implant procedures in detail to me. My implant procedures were spread out over several visits, each one left me eager to proceed with completion of the process to see the finished product. Also, Dr. Sam advised me that this is a process, since in my case there was extensive bone loss in several areas due to missing teeth. With Dr. Sam’s gentle procedures, I had extensive bone grafts before the actual implant process, feeling minimal pain. After having a portion of my implants completed, I have improved my quality of life, I can eat and chew better. No worries about removing, slipping, painful or lost dentures. I actually lost a denture, since it was uncomfortable to wear and I would remove it at every possible chance. I am thrilled with my implants.

Dr. Sam S. Khorsandi has been practicing as a specialist in periodontics and implant surgery for over 25 years. A combination of knowledge, experience and a sincere care has made him extremely successful and well loved by his patients. Dr. Khorsandi received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from UCLA in 1984 and continued his studies at UCLA dental school to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1988. He then specialized in periodontics and implantology at Loma Linda University and graduated in 1990. His research project in graduate school focused on regenerative surgery of intrabony periodontal defects using ePTFE barrier membranes, resulting in a publication in the Journal of Periodontology. Dr. Khorsandi became a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology in 1996. This award is the highest recognition of achievement offered by the specialty board. This award is given to doctors who demonstrate continued professional development, knowledge and interest in providing the best and most up to date care to their patients in the area of periodontology and implantology. Dr. Khorsandi is a member of American Academy of Periodontology, American Board of Periodontology, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, International Congress of Oral Implantology, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and Los Angeles Dental Society. Dr. Khorsandi is married and has four sons. Outside the office, he enjoys coaching his sons’ basketball and soccer games, attending school concerts as well as swimming and going on family vacations.
