My daughter just finished her Middle school years in braces from Dr. Martines. We are delighted with the end results. She not only had gaps between her front teeth that were obvious, she also had malocclusion bite on one side of her mouth. She only chewed her food on one side because the other never touched. I was visiting LA recently from another country while having an ortho emergency! My face was swelling immensely and I was in a lot of pain! My hotel had found this office for me. Within 25 minutes I was in his chair and he was cutting my painful wires for me! He was pleased to do it and the swelling went down almost immediately. I am so grateful. Both my children completed their orthodontic treatment with Dr. Martines. He is very personable and knowledgeable! It seems as though every child that attends Larchmont Charter School that needs braces sees Dr. Martines and that right there says a lot! The office is run very well and even though it is busy we never seem to wait. Everyone in the office is very nice, but I have to say my favorite person is Gina! She runs the front desk, always has a smile on her face and is very outgoing! Whenever I call and need to change my child’s appointment or have any other issue she is always there to help. She is just a GEM!!!! I recommend anyone who needs orthodontic work to come to Dr. Martines. You will not be disappointed!

Dr. Martines and his staff are extraordinary!! Both my teenage son and I got Invisalign braces. I don’t recommend getting this type of brace via a regular dentist. Dr. Martines worked on tweaking the manufacturing of the braces several times because he is an orthodontist. A regular dentist would likely let the computer do all the designing. The office is bright and friendly with excellent orthodontic technologists. They are understanding and fair in their pricing. I cannot recommend this terrific team highly enough. From the front end staff to the actual ‘mouth work’ I give them an A plus!! I have attached the a before and after version of my upper Invisalign braces. Amazing results. My results were made even faster by using a little device called Acceledent. This was an added cost, but well worth it for me. I had a tricky case and had waited a long time to get braces. Using the device (bite plate you hold in your mouth for twenty minutes per night; it pulses and helps expedite the process) cut seven months off of my treatment…that is a big chunk of time!!

If you want an honest, experienced orthodontist that cares about your teeth, come here! Dr. Martines is a great doctor in the Larchmont neighborhood, so you can grab a nice meal nearby after your appointment. The team, from the front desk to the assistant staff, are great! The treatment coordinator Sharon is professional and knows a lot about how to make treatment work for each family/patient. I am very happy so far with my treatment, and owe it to this office! Compared to other offices, who might be bigger, they provide customized attention and better quality of service than other places. I like that they know me when I walk in, and I’m not just a number like other orthodontists in LA. Love it here!

I am long overdue in writing this review but, better late than never. I had Invisalign with the marvelous Dr. Martines a few years ago. I had worn braces as a teenager, so my teeth were actually straight. But my bite was off, causing excruciating pain in my back teeth. I had initially gone to an endodontist, thinking I needed a root canal. He told me that I actually had an inflamed ligament due to an open bite. He recommended orthodontia to correct it. I did a lot of research to seek out a really great orthodontist when I found Larchmont Village Orthodondics. I didn’t want to wear braces again, and related this to Dr. Martines. He told me about Invisalign, which seemed the best option for my particular case. Within a couple of weeks, I was out of pain and noticed the difference in my bite. Every visit to Dr. Martines’ office was a good experience. His staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. And it is not a high-production factory environment, where you see a row of different dentists at each and every appointment. Dr. Martines is the only orthodontist there, and oversees every step of his patients’ treatment. Dr. Martines has all the latest equipment and technology geared to making your orthodontic outcome a success. From front office to chairside, every member of his team is top notch. I still continue to wear my retainers to keep his wonderful hard work in place. I could go on and on about the great experience I had at Dr. Martines’ office but will simply say, you will not find a better orthodontic specialist anywhere. Dr. Martines is truly the most excellent and professional orthodontist you will ever find. I completely recommend him!

I’ve gone back for a few visits since my original post. Every time I go, everyone in the office is kind, helpful, and friendly. Gina takes care of the appointments and always gives me a call the day before. The technicians always try to do quick work, and are very understanding of my odontophobia (dental fears/anxiety) and let me take mini-breaks between bouts of work done on my teeth. I know that some things are going to hurt (it’s braces, afterall, and your teeth are moving), but Dr. Martines and his technicians always try to make things go as smoothly and pain-free as they can. I’ve had to have my teeth filed, I’ve got spacers on my teeth (to widen my bite), and I’ve had upper and lower braces put on at different times, and have had wire tightenings and adjustments. I think they’ve done the worst part of the process now, and I know that I’ve been in good hands throughout everything. I’m glad I’m getting my orthodontic work done here with Dr. Martines. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

We looked at several orthodontists in Los Angeles. A very well known ortho in Bev Hills and three more in Los Angeles. A friend from school told us about Dr. Martines. She had done a SPREADSHEET on various orthodontists, their pricing, how invasive they could be and dispositions (towards tweens.) We are so grateful she introduced us to Dr. Martines. MUCH LESS expensive than the others, a very non aggressive approach to braces and a gentle, fun personality full of knowledge and kindness. Many years later, our sons braces are off. Dr. Martines has not only assisted us with advice (we moved 100 miles away) helping us find a dentist and even speaking in depth to a dentist concerning our son’s retainer, (our son stepped on his retainer) helping us find a cosmetic/oral surgeon dentist for various needs and has truly been one of the MOST AMAZING DOCTORS THAT WE HAVE EVER MET. If you are looking for someone that will put your child at ease, not break the bank and leave your child with a gorgeous smile, this is your guy. His office staff is friendly, outgoing and downright loving. This place is TEN STARS

I sure am glad Dr. Wendt recommended Dr. Luis Martines. From the first appointment I knew I was in good hands. This whole staff is so kind, caring and experienced. They answered all my questions and concerns. Once I started treatment I could see the results instantly. My front gap closed and I was so happy!! Dr. Martines is a miracle worker. I have to say upon my initial visit to Larchmont Village Orthodontics I was a bit afraid of being the only adult in the office receiving treatment (I was approaching 30 when I got my braces) but along my treatment I began to notice that Dr. Martines has quite a few adult patients which relieved my complex. Well, I got my braces off today and I couldn’t be more pleased! My teeth are so straight and beautiful! Dr. Martines and his staff have made my entire experience through my orthodontic treatment the best it can get. The office is very modern and clean. The staff are patient, professional, efficient, and organized. Dr. Martines himself, is a fun, friendly, upfront guy who is willing to work with you in regards to what you would and wouldn’t like to do with your treatment. He provides options and downright honesty. Together they operate like a solid “family” team. I can’t say enough great things and highly recommend Dr. Martines for your orthodontic treatment!

I reviewed Larchmont Village Orthodontics before a few years back. I had Invisalign treatment back then and was very happy with the result and experience. I gave 5 stars then. This time, I took my 11-year old to Dr. Martines. His office is still super-clean, fresh, and very well taken care of. It’s a bright and modern environment with fun details to look at. My daughter feels absolutely comfortable there. She also loves the books in the waiting area. Little things like that should not go unnoticed… The entire staff, including Dr. Martines and his helpers know my daughters name, and everybody is extremely friendly and approachable. My daughter has an expander and braces now. Because she was so well instructed by the staff, she takes great care of her teeth at home, all by herself. Overall a great experience!

We love Dr. Martinez, Ann and the entire staff at Larchmont Village Orthodontics. Both of our daughters have been happy and successful patients there for the past year. Dr. Martinez has also shown tremendous patience with the many questions I asked him over and over and over again- and there have been a lot! In addition, after consults all over town with many different orthodontists, my father-in-law, a highly respected children’s dentist and oral surgeon for over forty years in the Central Coast, gave Dr. Martinez the “thumbs up.” My father-in-law told me to look for someone who teaches, and Dr. Martinez teaches at U.C.L.A. He also has great credentials according to my father-in-law. That said a lot in my book. It is always easy to make an appt. there, and when we have needed to stop by for an unexpected, but needed adjustment, they have always accommodated us. Also, last year, the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving, one of my daughters needed to get a quick, but necessary fix to her appliance. Being the night before Thanksgiving, I thought she would be eating nothing, but mashed potatoes if we couldn’t get it corrected. I called the emergency number and Dr. Martinez, who was standing in line at our local Trader Joe’s, came directly to the office in 10 minutes and made the correction. What a relief! We will be forever grateful for that fix! Would have been in a bind for the entire Thanksgiving holiday if we hadn’t been able to get the correction. especially since we were heading out town the following four days! Three cheers for Dr. Martinez- honestly can’t say enough good things about Larchmontt Village Orthodontics!

Larchmont Village Orthodontics is as good as it gets! I can’t say enough good things about this office. I moved from Texas to California and I had to find another orthodontist here in LA. As a transfer patient, it was very hard for me to find a good, honest orthodontists out here in LA because every orthodontist I met out here was obviously all about money. Every orthodontist I consulted with tried to get me to take out huge loans. I couldn’t understand why when my teeth were already halfway done, I just needed someone to continue working were my old orthodontist left off. I felt rushed and very uncomfortable asking questions. I just felt like I was just another atm machine to them…until God lead me to Larchmont Village Orthodontics. Not only is Dr. Martinez a WONDERFUL orthodontist, he is honest, thorough, and precise. I can tell he really enjoys what he does! He explains every single detail and loves to answer any additional questions you may have so that you are absolutely clear about everything. He is a perfectionist and I love it! He continued working on my teeth where my old orthodontist had left off. He even fixed all of my old orthodontists mistakes and corrected my overjet,which my old orthodontists said “could probably never be corrected” because my case was so severe. I got my braces off 3 weeks ago and I’m so happy with the results! I seriously cried when I looked in the mirror when I got home. I couldn’t believe how beautiful my teeth were! We offer a range of braces and treatments to meet the unique needs of every individual patient. This includes Phase I and Phase II treatments, traditional metal brackets, ceramic braces and Invisalign®. Dr. Martines established Larchmont Village Orthodontics in 2009 to provide the most technologically advanced orthodontic care in a family-oriented setting. We are dedicated to providing one-on-one care to each patient while using the highest quality materials and techniques available to create confident smiles and healthy bites. As a local parent, Dr. Martines is committed to care for each patient as if they where a member of his own family. experience. He received his dental degree at Loma Linda University where he was recognized by both his faculty and colleagues with the “Professionalism Award” for demonstrating those qualities befitting a true professional. In 1994 he completed his Masters Degree in Orthodontics at Indiana University. His research earned him a NASA award for his contributions to space and life science research. Dr. Martines is a lecturer and clinical instructor at the UCLA School of Dentistry Department of Orthodontics. He has also lectured to several graduate programs and study groups. He is fluent in working with cutting-edge techniques, including space-age wires and the latest generation in braces for gentle teeth movement with great results. Dr. Martines is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association and the Los Angeles Dental Society. In his free time, the doctor is an avid soccer fan and has traveled as far away as Tokyo to watch his beloved team win an international championship.
