I called Dr. Poulus as i had loosened a crown at 7pm in the evening before leaving for a week-long trip. he had been out that evening but returned my call at 10pm. He informed me that i could use some super glue and it would hold for a couple days and i could see a dentist while on my trip. After returning home a visited the office and he cemented the crown back in place at a cost of $10. WOW!!!! Ever get out of a dentist office for that sum?? I found the staff and Dr. Poulus very professional and friendly. I am changing my dentist to Dr. Poulus.

I called the office number at 6:30 a.m. in severe pain from a tooth infection. Dr. Poulis answered personally and asked me to call the office at 8:30. He assured me that they would get me in that day. I did call back, they booked an appointment for me that morning. Though I see Dr. Stevens (he is excellent!), Dr. Poulis actually called me back the same morning to ensure that I got an appointment. Dr. P is mine and my families go to dentist for ANYTHING down to just a simple cleaning. He is the sweetest and most patient man you will meet in his field. I hated the dentist, he helped me get over my fear with his small talk and distracting me w/ photos of adorable fluffy animals on the ceiling. He is constantly talking about his love for the profession & constantly learning the new tech coming out & new procedures to better advance his skills and keep his patients happier. Dr Poulos has been my dentist for over a decade and has helped me overcome my fear of “the dentist”!!! I have had some different procedures performed by him and have always been extremely pleased. However, the most impressive was a few months ago. My whole side of my face was hurting when I woke up on a SUNDAY. I phoned in to leave a message for the first available on Monday. Dr Poulos must have the phones always forwarded to him over the weekend. In less than an hour. I met him at the office … and sure enough I was in need of a root canal. In which he took care of that very day!!!! I could go on and on about him… ~~ however the STAFF is equally amazing and truly treat me like family.

Dr. Poulos saved me before my daughter’s Saturday afternoon wedding! My front bridge broke out around 1 pm, while I was anticipating wedding pictures at 4 and ceremony at 6 pm. I was in town for Spring Training from CA. And the first day I was here my temporary front tooth that my dentist back home had put in place a couple weeks before (during implant process) broke loose. So here I am on a Saturday morning in Scottsdale in need of a dentist. I called numerous other dentists from Yelp that said they couldn’t do it or wanted to charge me for a full “new patient” exam with X-rays and all that. I then googled “dentists open on Saturday in Scottsdale”, and found Dr Poulos. Called, got him on his cell phone, explained my situation and he new exactly what I needed. He drove to his office on a Saturday morning and opened up for a patient he had never met. I spent 10 minutes in his chair and he cemented my temporary front tooth back in with plenty of time to make it to the A’s baseball game. If he goes out of his way like this for a new patient, I could only imagine what great service anyone would receive on a regular basis. Hats of to you Dr. Poulos!! Many thanks

I have been a patient of Dr. Poulos since 1985 (when I moved to Arizona from Chicago.) From the first time I went to him until now, I have always felt as though I was in good hands. Dr. Poulos is not only an excellent Dentist, but he also genuinely cares about all of his patients. Because of cancer treatments, my teeth have been a huge challenge to him, but he never makes me feel like an imposition in any way. He has treated me with such kindness and care and I feel very blessed to have found him. I must also say that his entire staff is so wonderful and friendly. No matter what work I have to have done, I always leave his office with a smile on my face. Dr Paulo’s an his staff was extremely helpful when I had an abscess tooth. I hurt so bad and called him on a Sunday evening he actually answered himself rather than some machine and offered to go into his office that evening. I decided I could wait until Monday and was in the chair within minutes of my appointment time. He was fast, gentle and compasionate. His staff was just as awesome. Gentle dentist and all good. Great cleaning person (I know they have a title and I am not trying to be disrespectful, I am just drawing a blank on the word – I am getting old). Everything was great. My husband woke up with a toothache on a Sunday and I called this office. We had never been here before. Dr. Poulus answered the phone himself and had my husband in his chair within an hour. I thought I had already reviewed Dr. Poulos but it appears I have not. That’s unfortunate because this office is great. The doctor is always friendly and down to earth. The staff is fun and happy, which says something about their workplace. The prices are good and they work with me and my insurance to make things financially palatable. We started coming here when my husband woke up on a Sunday with one of those oh-my-gawd deadly toothaches. Dr. Poulos got us in that same day, even with a full schedule and never having seen us before. We needed a new dentist and this showed me he was a caring person and he proved to also be a great dentist.

I had an emergency need for a dentist on a Sunday. I truly did not expect to be seen but called My Scottsdale Dentist. Dr Paulos himself answered my direct call around 745 am and said, “Meet me in the office at 9 o’clock today.” I expected him to triage my problem. After a single X-ray and hearing my history, he diagnosed my problem and performed a root canal! I was not even someone who had been a patient there before. I had moved to this area 3 years ago but kept my dentist back in Washington, DC. Went to see Dr. Poulos with severe tooth pain this past Monday. He fit me in as I had an emergency and stayed over his lunch break to help. The doctor and his assistant helped me feel comfortable and relaxed (I get very nervous at any dentist). They go the extra mile to ease any anxiety . Dr. Poulos uses a device that made the injections pain free. Even though it was their lunch break they took their time and figured out exactly what was wrong. The doctor stayed an extra hour to perform the procedure. In no time he finished and sent me on my way with an appointment to put in my final crown next week. His compassion does not stop when you leave his office. On many occasions Dr. Poulos (not an assistant) has called to ask how I was feeling. Dr. Poulos truly cares about his patients from start to finish. He is by far the most experienced and compassionate family dentist in AZ. I highly recommend him for any and all of your dental needs!

Dr Stevens is the best dentist I’ve ever had! He took his time explaining to me my treatment plan, and allowed me to be a part of the decision on what I wanted done. If you don’t have a dentist, or even if you do, this place is what you’ve always hoped for in dentistry. My dentist is Dr Steven Poulos and he works here. He is by far the BEST dentist I have ever been a patient of. He is about safety, and preventative work, he has a wonderful and caring personality, great bed-side manner, he is informative, answers all questions, has emergency hours, has a great sense of humor and if that wasn’t enough, he is honest, gentle and does the best work in town. THE BEST WORK IN ARIZONA. He works wonders in the worst case scenarios. And he and his staff will make “going to the dentist”, a great experience. He does cater to the white knuckle patients too. He allows his patients the very special gift of being able to flash their smile again, and feel so proud about it. That’s priceless! The office also had a plan you can sign up for, and for a yearly fee of $85 dollars, it basically takes 20% off procedures. Look at the chart and you’ll see the money saved. There is no other dentist I would entrust my teeth to. He’s been practicing awhile, and knows everything there is to now about his craft. He doesn’t just do the fillings and root canals, he also works wonders in cosmetic dentistry too! He is by far the ‘Master” of his craft. I have been to other dentists in the valley, but it’s the quality that matters. It’s hard to explain when you are lucky enough to find a dentist that goes over and beyond, and possesses every positive adjective/adverb I can think of ……and does beautiful work. I just want people to understand that Dr. Poulos is grade A, and you should give him a try. You won’t be sorry, I can assure you that. His integrity and his obvious passion speak volumes. I know this is a long review, I hope you take the time to read it, as it’s all important. Please folks, he truly is the best dentist ever. I have gone to good and bad ones (sadly), and I feel so incredibly lucky to have found Dr.Poulos. I feel very passionate about him, and his practice. FANTASTIC experience with Dr Stevens and his staff. I’m in town from Chicago and my crown came off. I was beside myself and went on to yelp to find a recommendation for emergency service. Turns out their office was 2min from our condo. These folks got me in immediately and luckily my crown and the gum/tooth area was all in good condition, so they cleaned up everything and reapplied my crown perfectly. I no longer have insurance– and no problem! They offered me a new patient special pkg that included an exam and X-ray. I left paying less than $80! If I come back to Scottsdale to stay, Dr Stevens will be my new dentist. Thank you for superior service, and all with a smile!

Well let me just start out by saying that I am from the east coast and have used the same dentist my entire life until today. I had in impacted wisdom tooth that needed to be removed ASAP. I found Dr. Poulos on the internet and read some review from other websites so I thought I would give him a shot. Wow was I taken back when I stepped foot in his office. I was greeted the moment I walked in the door, and almost every staff member said hello and asked me how my day was going. The staff was all smiles, and it seemed as if they really enjoyed their work environment. When it came time to crunch the numbers and see how expensive pulling just 1 wisdom tooth was going to be, I was absolutely thrilled when I found out the cost was well under $400 per tooth (which is what I was quoted at about 10 other offices in scottsdale). I explained to Dr. Poulos that I did not have insurance and that cost was certainly an issue since I was paying out of pocket. He was very warm and friendly, and did not try to up-sell anything I did not immediately need or want. I would highly recommend Dr. Poulos and his entire staff to anybody that needs dentistry work done. He and his staff are extremely friendly, outgoing, helpful, and very cheap!! Give him a shot, I have no doubt that he will impress you as much as he’s impressed me!

A few months ago I suddenly developed unbelievable tooth pain – on a Friday night of all times. My old dentist had retired and I googled emergency dental services in Scottsdale. I saw that they were open on Saturday and not only called 1st thing in the morning, but Dr. Poulos answered the call himself and told me to come right over. Not only was I impressed that he was willing to immediately help me, but I also found that his whole staff was welcoming as well. Because of this, I decided to get a dental implant (which I had needed for some time but was afraid to get). Going to the dentist is not my favorite thing to do and I usually only go when I have a major issue. I have been so pleased with the service and attitude of everyone that I’m going to continue to see Dr. Poulos and his staff for all my dental needs. I highly recommend them.

Superbowl Sunday and my tooth ache had progressed into unbearable. I had left an emergency message the day before but my regular dentist didn’t bother to return my call. The pain so excruciating, I started to panic. I searched the Internet and found an emergency dentist referral hotline. I called. The referral service recommended Dr. Poulos in Scottsdale. I’m in Ahwatukee but no problem as he’s just off of the 101. I phoned. He personally answered and agreed to meet me within 45-minutes. I arrived in 35 and he greeted me kindly and carefully ushered me into a chair. An hour and a half later, he had expertly performed a root canal and built a temporary crown. His manner is extremely kind and disarming. His adept ability during the procedure felt nearly painless and definitely not uncomfortable. His price was very fair and his office’s follow up was excellent. Even if he was two hours away, which he isn’t, I have finally found a dentist worth any commute. He is truly professional and thorough. Highly highly highly recommend Dr. Poulos. On a side note, I would also suggest that his kind personality and his gentle disposition would be ideal for treating children.

I went to Dr. Poulos as an emergency dentist. Dr. Poulos opened his office on Sunday at 1:30pm just to help me. I was in a great deal of pain, swelling, with an abscess that formed seemingly overnight. I LOVE his efficiency and how quickly he works – I was in and out in no time, the other reviews about his gentle/kind demeanor are true – very easy going, friendly, and kind, he made me feel comfortable. His whole staff is awesome, friendly, caring etc. When I came in, I was not feeling well at all, immediately Larissa lifted my spirits – the whole place is upbeat and happy and has a nice flow of productive people. After Dr. Paulos took an Xray and inspected the area, he referred me to get a root canal retreated at Canyon Endodontics. I ended up having 2 root canals done in the same visit. I set an appt with my old dentist to complete the work as the root canals are filled with a only a temporary filling. My old dentist wanted to charge me $4300. His plan was to re-crown 1 and put a new crown on the other. My gut said his prices were way high so I got a 2nd opinion. I consulted back with Dr. Poulos’s office who offered me in house insurance and quoted me a price of $910 for a crown. So I went in. It turns out I only needed fillings as my crown is good and my other tooth doesn’t need a crown. So today I got out the door with 2 fillings, a cleaning, insurance for my family of 4 all for $400. I saved $4,000 today!! WHOOO HOOOO!!! Praise the Lord I found Dr. Poulos. After living in AZ for about 16 years, I have finally found a dentist that I trust. I also think it’s really cool that I now have my own hygenist. There are several there. This is no small dentistry, it’s a really well run, efficient, family friendly place, and they are 1 big family. The hygenist, Kristin, who is a DOLL!, her mom worked there for like 16 years and now she works there and several of them have other family members work there, the girl who took my xrays has been there for 16 years too. These people love their work, they are all happy and it shows with their service, friendliness, and care. I’m thrilled with this place and now I fully intend to tell everyone I know! This place is wonderful. I had become a regular there for a over month due to a lot of necessary work. Every time I had a issue they were so accommodating. They got me right it and took great care of me. Everyone was really friendly and pleasant. Total pros, they all were great. With all the work I had done I probably encountered 80% of the staff. The prices were more than fair and that was a blessing as I have a newborn baby. The skill level of Dr. Poulos is second to none. Every time I was impressed with how little pain I had afterwards. I woke up at 3am on a Saturday, in excruciating pain. I googled emergency dentist and randomly called some numbers with no luck. I was preparing to drive 3 hours north to my family in order to get some help when Dr. Poulos called me, without me having even left a message, to see if I needed an emergency dentist. He also text me asking “need a dentist?”. I called him back and he said he could be there by 6:30. He was so fast and efficient, and he saved me thousands of dollars by not going to the ER, where they would have just told me there was nothing they could do. Let me just start out by saying that I have bad teeth, damn genetic bad teeth. I have learned to hate dentists because they have always made me feel horrible about my teeth. I KNOW THEY’RE BAD JUST FIX THEM!!! Is what I want to scream to other dentists. I found dr Stevens as I was looking for a dentist who specializes in clients who are afraid of dentists. I came to see him in need of crowns, bridges, and extractions. No problem here at north Scottsdale family dentistry! Merry Christmas Eve and I crack a tooth. Clean in half. Terrible timing as who is open on Christmas Eve? I called just about everyone who claimed to have emergency dental services. Nada. Seriously. Some office had an answering service who claimed they were open, the woman sent me to the office on 43rd Avenue and McDowell… and the were CLOSED! Oh my. Panic set in as I imagined my Christmas Holiday imbibing in Oral Gel instead of eggnog. Luckily my dad called HIS dentist friend who recommended I go to see Dr. Steven Poulos at My Scottsdale Dentist. I was able to walk right in on Christmas Eve (afternoon). I am so very grateful this office was open. I had to have a root canal. I have had a few of these before, so I’m no stranger to the process. Dr Poulous made it seem easy. It was quick and he paid attention to my concerns. He was gentle and thorough. There was minimal discomfort and he didn’t murder my jaw in the process (always an issue when the dentist puts those plastic mouth holder torture devices in. He didn’t use one ) Thank you to this office, the kind and warm staff and the Dr who was available for folks like me on days like this. Physicians like this are invaluable.

Im probally one of the worst patients to have. Really bad gag reflexes and nervous about everything. Saturday morning in a holiday eating breakfast I broke one of my molars on half. Called around to find everyone closed that day. I googled this place and man was I happy i did ,it took me longer to fill out the paperwork than to be ready to get the tooh pulled out No gagging, no pain no disconfort. Drove all the way across town, paper work filled out, all numed up, bad tooth gone and out the door all in about three hours. I will sure be back next time i or any of my family needs dental work.

This place is soooooo amazing!!!! I had a horrible night and woke up with my 2 front teeth chipped and no idea how i did it. Immediately i googled emergency dentists, I got an appointment at one place but it was for a lot later. I looked back at google and found My Scottsdale Dentist. I called them up and the woman that I spoke to was not only extremely nice, but very patient with me while I was looking for my insurance card and such. I also explained to her that I had a flight that I needed to catch at 1pm and she told me to come in immediately and she would see what she could do. The office is about 35 minutes from my house and I got there at about 9:05. I checked in filled out my paperwork and they called me to the back about 10 minutes later. Dr. Stevens was extremely nice even with my situation of having no idea how i chipped my teeth, he wasn’t judgmental, just mentioned that he heard i had a flight to catch and went about getting my teeth fixed immediately. They got me a temp crown and all set up and got me on my way in about 2 hours. I was sooo beyond grateful and happy that I was able to make my flight and no one was even able to tell that anything happened. I can’t wait to go back and get my permanent crowns in and once again would highly recommend Dr. Stevens did an amazing job and has a wonderful personality.
