I’ve been going to Dr. Shojania for about 3 years now and I have never been happier leaving the dentist office. They are honest and straight forward, never pushing you to buy any particular product or to get unnecessary treatment. I finally found a dentist office I actually love going to. Implants, fillings, and cosmetic work – I needed it all! I never completed this review which I had started in 2012… A good friend referred me to Dr Shojania. My “original” dentist in LA had begun to charge a lot more and do a lot less as he entered what I think can be a “burnout phase” that Docs can slide into as they get tired of the same old routine and are perhaps thinking about retiring. As a result, I had put off going back to him as my mouth “exploded’. I am pretty particular about dentists because I fell victim to a dentist in my younger years who eventually lost his license and took his own life. It came out years after I had been a patient that the guy was a nut – and a dishonest one at that. He had drilled extensively to fix non-existent cavities to increase his revenues. As a result, most of my teeth had been filled by the time I was 15, and in my 40’s as my teeth died and cracked I put off dealing with the situation as I mentioned above – a huge mistake! By the time I got to Dr. Shojania, I needed 5 extractions of molars that couldn’t be saved, at least 3 fillings, and a bunch of cosmetic work (including veneers on my two front teeth). It was a ton of work, and she referred me out for the extractions so that I could have posts screwed into my jaw. The surgeon she used (whose name escapes me years later) was amazing – and he handled all of the surgery in one visit. This would allow Dr. Shojania to give me implants – which are more expensive than bridges, obviously, but are more of a lifelong “fix”. I worked with her and her terrific assistant Cici, and probably had about a dozen appointments to rebuild my mouth, but the two of them worked in total sync. Cici kept me completely organized, always called the night before to confirm appointments, and through all this work they kept the atmosphere as comfortable and professional as any dentist could have. A lot of things could have gone wrong with all the work I needed – but Dr. Shojania did an outstanding job. I just logged into Yelp to find this review was never finished – though I started it in 2012! I am happy to say that today, 3 plus years later, her work has all held up perfectly and my teeth look great (and function) perfectly. I have moved back east and have not seen her in years, but I wanted to complete this review and give her the top rating I think she deserved.

Dr. Shojania is a down to earth, does-her-own cleanings, personable and kind dentist. If you’re tired of LA dentists wanting to upsell you on strange cosmetic/cash offerings, filling zillions of non-existent cavities to make a buck, or pushing you to poorly trained staff for 90% of your visit, look no further.   If you want a good dentist you can trust, Dr. Shojania is perfect.

I have been a patient of Dr. Shojania for over a decade.  She has been incredible, from immediately calling back for an emergency toothache of my 7 year old ((the night before a trip to the UK)), to routine cleanings.. to complex issues- she is amazing. I have sent my close friends to Dr. Shojania and everyone just loves her.  Not to be forgotten,Cici, in the front, is outstanding as well. She takes excellent care of us too! I actually look forward to going to the dentist!
