I’ve been with this orthodontist throughout the years as they’ve helped me navigate through my ortho treatment, they’ve always shown the upmost care with my treatment plan and my wellbeing in general. Dr. Vonny was my orthodontist for a little over 2 years now and I have to disagree with the 2 previous 1-star reviews. For me, getting braces was long overdue and because I had an extreme overbite, was going to be an arduous journey but I couldn’t have done it without the attention I received from Dr. Vonny and her staff. When I first met Dr. Vonny, she was the 2nd orthodontist I had a consultation with and was the first to show a genuine concern not with just my treatment plan but with my severe overbite. She had encouraged me to look into a procedure to correct it to the point where she pushed hard for it, knowing full well that only I personally would benefit from it. I eventually did go through with the procedure (separate doctor) to correct my bite and it was life changing – in a very good way. Thank you Dr. Vonny. My visits with Dr. Vonny for the most part were pleasant. Yes, their office is extremely busy but isn’t that a good sign? Peggy was always friendly towards me and very resourceful. Their previous receptionist, who no longer works there, did have an attitude from time-to-time but was always willing to accommodate should I needed to reschedule; she normally warmed up if you were nice to her first. Dr. Vonny’s assistants/technicians Ruby and Tina were great! They were always diligent, helpful, and kind. Anytime I had a wire that was too long, they made sure to shorten it and smooth the edges so it wouldn’t stab the back of my mouth, and always triple checked to make sure that it didn’t bother me. They also went above and beyond to make sure the scans or molds that they had made were accurate, I appreciated that and it saved me from making multiple trips. Now that I’m done with my treatment, I can’t thank Dr. Vonny and her staff enough. I can’t even imagine how hectic it is for Dr. Vonny and her staff to go back and forth from their Beaverton office to their Salem office throughout the work week but long story short: I highly recommend Dr. Vonny.

Every since my baby teeth fell out, I knew I wanted to have straight teeth but I didn’t know my wish of having a pretty smile would come to a reality until Dr. Vonny gave me a chance. After being rejected by many, many Orthodontists for braces because my cross&underbite case could only be fixed through jaw surgery, I knew that I’d never have that perfect smile like everyone else. Just like Dr. Vonny I didn’t let that defeat me, so I decided to visit Dr. Vonny’s office in 2016 but I wasn’t fully convinced. Dr. Vonny was highly recommended tome by my dentist Debbie Huyssoon. At the time I came to consult with Dr. Vonny, my bite was off, my molars were not touching. I had orthodontist work done many years ago and had spaces that were never closed. To make matters more complicated, I have TMJ and a bridge. After careful consideration, Dr. Vonny told me that my case was very difficult, but she felt she could help me. She used invisaline braces. Two plus years later she completed treatment. I’m so grateful for Doctor Vonny and staff as they fixed my jaw!! When I first saw them I could hardly open my mouth, my jaw popped and hurt constantly, I couldn’t really chew anything, and eating steak or burgers was not an option. I was in a car accident and right side of my face was crushed and my jaw broken pretty bad. I had multiple facial surgeries and opted to try braces to fix my jaw. Yelp can be so bizarre with how varied the reviews can be at times. Dr. Vonny was recommended by a colleague and a family friend after I had consulted 3 Orthodontists in the Portland metro area. From The moment I walked in the door to the moment I left, I felt confident in my decision to pursue Invisalign. Kandy spent 2 hours with me and scheduled me the same day to Come back to have my invisalign attachments placed. Upon spending more time with Dr. Vonny, I have experienced nothing but warmth, professional expertise and a nonjudgemental presence. All of which I admire both professionally and personally. I also LOVE receiving treatment from a female orthodontist. In addition, I had to have an additional appliance placed, called a carriere. the first week was painful. Not only did I receive a phone call from Dr, Vonny, I received two just to check-in. I felt seen and truly cared for and surely I am not the ONLY patient she has in her practice. Finally, I had to call the emergency line due to breaking a part of carriere and I received texts ASAP to come in on Monday. Regular metal braces are still the most widely used, yet other types are gaining popularity including clear braces and Invisalign. Dr. Vonny Ngantung was born in Manado, Indonesia. She attended the University of Indonesia at Jakarta for her dental school education, where she graduated summa cum laude and ranked first among her classmates. Dr. Vonny completed her Orthodontic Specialty training at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center in 2000. “My career objective is to be an outstanding Orthodontist, dedicated to providing quality dental and orthodontic care that is in the best interest of my patients.” Dr. Vonny is a member of the American Dental Association, the Oregon Dental Association, and the American Association of Orthodontists. She also continually expands her dental education through study clubs and continuing education. Dr. Vonny takes pride in creating great smiles that last a lifetime for all her patients.
