Dr. Nelson and his staff are absolutely incredible. He is kind, gentle, extremely efficient, a perfectionist who has your best interests in mind always, honest and funny. His hygienist Sue is wholeheartedly one of the coolest humans I know. She’s a sweet, funny, tell you like it is girl with a great laugh and gentle soul. Susan and Karla are added bonuses to his team, they always make me smile, feel like I’m loved, listened to and always welcomed like family. I would give more than 5 stars if possible. My family has been seeing Dr. Nelson for years. We changed insurance a couple times and he wasn’t covered so web as to try some other dentists and no one has compared to Dr. Nelson. His experience, honesty, expertise and actually sincerely caring for patience overall well being is one in a million. He has been there for my family for dental emergencies such as a chipped tooth, root canals, and has even taken phone calls and gone in the office to see my sister when the office is normally closed because she was experiencing a severe tooth ache. If you’re looking for a dentist, you won’t regret Dr. Paul E. Nelson.

If you are new to the area or looking for a new, really good dentist, look no further! Dr. Nelson is caring, kind, gentle, a good listener and does GREAT work. His office staff is helpful and very knowledgeable. The hygienists are very thorough. I used to be the world’s biggest baby about going to the dentist. Not any more. I have never had dental work done by Dr. Nelson that was painful. My neighbor recommended him to me a couple years ago and I’m glad she did. You will not be disappointed in him!

I have a lot of dentists in my family and my mom works for one, but when I have something especially tricky that needs handling (a tooth that needs drilling through the gum to pull down for braces, my husband’s chipped tooth), Paul is my number one preference because of his professional artistry. He is constantly taking classes to learn updated techniques, so you always know his work is on the cutting edge. He also has an office full of beautiful photography and fun music that keeps you smiling and your toe tapping where most dental offices make you constantly feeling like you want to bolt for the door. Finally, his dental hygienist, Sue, is always engaging in conversation– one of those people who makes you wish you didn’t have her hands in your mouth so you could just sit and shoot the breeze all day long! After a few visits, I decided the extra miles were worth the advantages of having Paul as my permanent dentists, other connections be damned!

First appt and front and back office staff are so very sweet and kind, they are everything and a bag o chips. If you can believe, they are even more than what is described here on Yelp. Medically and dentically (new word people) I am a hot mess express, but Dr Nelson didnt make me feel that way. I now have a dental game plan far exceeding any hope or expectations. I’ve been coming here most of my life. My parents took me here as a child because every other dentist scared me or was not good with children. This was the only place I was comfortable in, they are all the best, hands down. I used to drive all the way to Arcadia for my previous dentist, because he was that good…..so it says a lot that I was willing to change to Dr. Nelson. He is wonderful and the staff is great. I have gone to Dr. Nelson for years. Nice to see him on YELP. Having a dentist I can trust is one of the most important parts of my ease of mind. I have heard so many stories from friends who had dentists recommend thousands of dollars of treatment. When I suggested they get a second opinion they went to Dr. Paul. He more often than not told them they didn’t need all that work and could get by with less treatment. He is honest and works hard to make sure each patient has the perfect bite. One of the best dentist offices I’ve ever been to. Dr. Nelson is great along with front office staff and dental hygienists. No one pressures you into any services that you don’t need like the “deep cleaning” scams that a lot of offices try to push. The front office is super friendly and sends you postcards and texts when you’re scheduled for the next cleaning.
The dental hygienists are like old friends you see every six months. You get a chance to catch up on what’s been happening and where you’re planning for your next vacation. The cleaning is very good, thorough, and you look forward to coming back.

I don’t like to go to the dentist mostly due to high pressure sales tactics they use. I broke a tooth and needed a crown so I had to find a dentist to repair it. Dr Nelson and his staff are very professional and do not high pressure you. They tell you what you need and let you decide. Dr Nelson will take his time with you and answer any questions you might have without you feeling like your being intrusive. I recommend this dentist.

Let’s face it: going to the dentist sucks. There’s no way around it. Never will you ever hear someone say “OMG I get to go to the dentist today!!!” But if you must go to a denstist and you live w/in reasonable driving distance to Fullerton, let me tell you: Paul is the man to go to. He is super professional AND likeable, and will only make the best recommendations for what you NEED (vs. other dentists who oft-times make unnecessary recommendations w/ the purpose of fattening their wallets). You can actually trust Paul. *Note*: I’ve known Paul for a very long time personally, since I was in the 6th . I’m now 28-years-old, and I live in San Francisco but will still turn to him for advice or get serviced from him when I’m in town and need it.

A WORD FROM YOUR DOCTOR
Dr. Paul has been practicing dentistry in Fullerton since 1986. A graduate of the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry, San Francisco, CA. He comes from a family of dentists (his father and two brothers, also dentists). Dr. Paul has always had a fascination for science and a passion for art. For him dentistry has always seemed like the perfect blend of both. Providing individuals with optimal dental health is the primary goal of our office. Understanding what each individual wants is as crucial as recognizing what they need. Bringing those two objectives together in a comfortable and natural way is an art and science in itself.
