I am glad I found that office the staff and the MD are great. I was scared to go to dentist in that past I did not trust anyone working on my teeth . I had a lot of work done one them by that office and all was easy not pain not nothing it was great . I did recommend a few co workers and they thanked me for giving them the Dr. name they are very happy with him as much as I am with that office . I do not want to change them now at all . I am very very happy with them .

First visit here. I chose it because of the great reviews and short distance from where I live. I was able to make an appointment for Saturday morning, 2 days away. The assistant Viki (sp?) did my x-rays (14) and she was quick! Dr. A. Bokser is very pleasant. He ended up doing my exam AND cleaning my teeth. It was all very efficient, which is exactly what I want in a Dental office. I highly recommend for ease and efficiency of scheduling and service! See you in 6 months for my next cleaning!

It had been way too long since I’d been to a dentist. Was prepared for a nightmare of an experience for cleaning and cavity filling. Brought on entirely by myself for not having been in years. Ended up having four appointments at one per week to clean, deep clean and fill three cavities and I can’t say enough good things about how well it went. Man, what a feeling to not be self conscious about smiling again! And the amount of pain and/or discomfort I experienced was so far away from what I was expecting. 15 min after I felt fine with the only exception being a slightly sore jaw the next day from one of the deep cleanings. Talking like .25 on the scale of 1 to 10 pain chart and the day after that it was perfectly fine. Entire staff was extremely welcoming and courteous. By the fourth visit I got the same feeling you get from walking into your usual bar where the bartender already has your drink poured for you before you even take off your coat. Professional AND welcoming. Timely too. They see you right at your appointed time and I don’t think I was ever sitting in the chair getting worked on for more than 45 minutes. All in all, this dynamic duo husband and wife team can’t be recommended enough. Their professionalism and expertise are supported by a fantastic staff. 6 stars and 3 thumbs up.

I have been a patient of both Dr Alex and Dr Irene for 10+ years and have been to both office locations over the course of time. I have always been treated with respect and professionalism by the staff and my dentists. I recently went for a routine cleaning which turned into emergency root canal. Had it not been for their thoroughness, concern and combined efforts to save the tooth I would have ultimately suffered great pain. Outstanding work done. I had a lot of work to be done including several fillings and a crown. If you’re avoiding the dentist because of fear of pain, don’t worry: you’re fine here. I experienced a very small amount of discomfort considering the years worth of work I needed. If you arrive on time: you’re seen on time. I don’t like going to the dentist as probably most people but when we found this cabinet based on Yelp reviews me and my wife decided to go and try it , we made a great choice and I am very happy with everyone working there . I had to fix 6 really tricky cavities that I thought some of them would need root canals but Dr. Alex Bokser managed to fix them perfect with very little pain, no need of root canals and for a great price . If you are looking for a dentist this is the perfect cabinet , always ready on time for the appointments and very professional . I can’t say enough good things about them .

I’ve been living in Astoria for a couple years, but had opted in the past with dentists closer to work in Manhattan. Never stuck with one for some reason. I finally decided to look for a dentist in the neighborhood and found Dr. Alexander Bokser on Google. I came in a couple months ago for my regular teeth cleaning and it was quick and efficient. I had issues figuring out my insurance when I first arrived at the office, but the receptionist was incredibly proactive and professional as they assured me once we found the info what the next steps would be cost wise. It definitely put me at ease. I have my next check up set up for next January. Definitely recommend! UPDATE: 03/12/21 I went back for my regular cleaning and the staff was stellar, as always. It turned out that I had a cavity and I would have to make another appointment to return. Dr Bokser however saw an opportunity to fit me in immediately after my cleaning and did a great job, in record time. It made my day and I felt super valued as a patient.

Just visited this practice for the first time- booking the appointment was easy, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the office was clean. I don’t remember the last time I had a cleaning done by the dentist and not a hygienist or an assistant, but Dr. Bokser did the cleaning and clinical exam himself. Honestly, the best experience I ever had with a dentist. The staff is truly great. Artemis, the incredibly friendly and helpful receptionist, calmed my nerves as soon as I walked in by laughing at my (admittedly) cheesy jokes and handling and explaining the interaction with my dental insurance company. After a very, very brief wait, Dr. Alex was able to see me (slightly ahead of my scheduled appointment, I should add). I’ve got to say, he was exceptionally patient and professional, taking time to really explain the procedure I was about to have done and answering all of my questions and concerns. After living in Astoria for a few years, I’ve finally found my dentist!

I just moved here a few months ago and needed to find new doctors for everything. I have been googling for all of them and will say that I’ve had a 100% success rate with all the reviews through Yelp, Zoc Doc and Health Grades. Dr. Alexander Bokser is great. Very friendly and personable. I mean, who doesn’t hate going to the dentist? It’s so much easier when the staff is amazing and the office is clean. From the moment I walked into the door to the moment I left, everyone was great. My dental hygienist was very friendly and professional. She did a great job without leaving my gums inflamed in pain. It’s about a 5-10 minute walk from the 30th Ave stop, so it is very convenient from the train station. I’m so glad I found Dr. Bokser and his staff! Will be referring people to come here.

Normally don’t write reviews. I highly recommend Dr Boxer, practice is owned by him and his wife. He is very professional, done a good job for both general dentistry work and crowns. Well equipped office and nice staff. I went to the office last year and didn’t do any work besides check up because had a wrong impression about doctor’s attitude, it seemed little arrogant. But since I needed to get job done this year and it was convenient location, I went there again this year. Had absolutely different experience, he was very friendly and straight to the point. I moved to Astoria a few months ago and went to Dr. Bokser’s office for the first time this past Saturday, and I have nothing but good things to say! The receptionist was very friendly and answered all of my questions about my insurance coverage thoroughly. When I was done my appointment, it was pouring rain and she offered to let me wait it out in the reception area because I had forgotten my umbrella. I waited less than a minute to be seen after filling out the paper work. The whole staff was incredibly friendly and pleasant and made the visit actually fun. Dr. Bokser was great. I would recommend him to anyone and I’m lucky to have found such a great, reliable dentist near my apartment! I will definitely be back. *I’d also like to mention that I am not “staff or a friend of staff” as another reviewer seems to think!

I find it important to say that this review came from the heart. I don’t expect any gain or loss out of writing this but to purely help someone in need of a good dentist in the NYC area and to help this small business. It is quite unfortunate how many times I called dentists around the area to hear someone answer the phone saying “Dentist’s office”, *chewing gum* or hating their life and sending micro-aggression tones in every word they utter as you desperately try to find answers for your concerns about your health, and make plans to up keep it. I called this office, and you can just tell. They care. Period. So in an age of paid and fake reviews such as those infesting Amazon, this is a place I genuinely recommend. I have an okay dental insurance plan so I don’t know how they would deal with lower-end insurance plans though. I am very comfortable and happy with their treatment and my mouth was absolutely messed up. I can’t share much about that since I’m self conscious about it but god did they give me hope and act on it. This is all I have. I hope this helps the potential patients as well as the doctors. p.s. I will update this to keep it genuine, and accurate as I continue to receive treatments.

Dr. Alexander and Dr. Irene Bokser rescued my dental health and restored my teeth!! Just prior to the Pandemic I’d undergone a lot of dental work for gum line cavities and a bridge that had cavities under the anchor molars. Two weeks into the Pandemic the temporary crown fell off, and within another month, two of the fillings I’d been given fell out. Clearly something was wrong. I was so grateful to Dr. Bokser that they took me as a new patient when Precision Dental opened for emergency treatment. The office was clean and Pandemic protocol was strictly observed. I felt safe and comfortable. The diagnostic equipment and tools are state of the art. And I have to say the administering of novocaine was the least uncomfortable I have ever experienced! Turns out I have had a lot of sub par dental work done over the past several years. The fillings were replaced, two more were discovered and filled. The molar under the failed crown was past repair but Dr. Irene was able to do a very tricky double implant and bridge. Within 4 months I was able to eat on both sides of my mouth … and smile and laugh without being self conscious of the huge gap in my teeth. Dr. Alexander has also adjusted my bite so my teeth actually fit together! I just can’t really express how grateful I am for the care I received from both Dr. Alexander and Dr. Irene and their staff. They’ve restored my teeth and my faith in dentistry – and the staff is wonderful, personable, professional and caring. They even helped with my insurance claims.

Last week I took my 3 year old son to the Dr. Bokser office for the first time. Although my son is not a hard cookie when it comes to doctors visits, Dr. Irene could examine and clean his teeth without any problem. At the end of our visit she asked whether he would come back to her, he answered YES (not an easy decision for a 3 year old). This office is equally good for adults as well as for children. First off,I am generally not a big fan of the dentist or getting my teeth cleaned. I don’t know the last time I was at a dentist’s office. That being said, everyone in the office was extremely friendly. I am a very outgoing person and love to joke around, and they were all on board and made it really easy and smooth. The wait time was very minimal. I was there early to fill out the information, but i went in about 5 minutes after my scheduled appointment and did not have any wait time once in the room. The front desk lady helped me out with getting all my info, and then I happened to run into the Dr. as I was walking to my room before evening meeting him and he struck up a conversation with me. (My leg is broken and he wanted to know all about it and then talked for a moment about his accidents.) Both assistants were wonderful with me, the lady taking the x rays was super quick. Dr. Bokser came in and told me everything that was up and told me what needed to be done. The cleaning was smooth and we had some wonderful conversation before and after the cleaning. It’s always weird to try to respond when being cleaned and I always find it strange when they ask a question that requires more than an uh huh or uh uh. She stuck to only those questions and saved the chatting for when I could respond. I HIGHLY recommend this office. I will be going back for sure! I never felt judged at all for being away from a dentist for so long, they were happy I was there!

He tells you whatever you need to be done with your teeth, not like some others that tells you only the problems that your insurance does not pay because they want only cash. The great thing about him is that he accepts some medicaid plans too.
