My girlfriend bought me a cleaning and x rays “gift” through Living Social, to Dr. Ron’s dental office. From the secretary to Dr. Ron, they couldn’t be nicer. His assistant, a nice young lady, was also super nice and gentle. During all cleaning, we chit chatted (well, I talked less, of course, lol). Great people and amazing professionals. Dr. Ron, thank you so much. I’ll definitely go back.

Before i met my boo bear / juicey caboosey / bae / boyfriend of almost 3 years, my longest relationship was a solid 3 months. maybe 3.5. for that, i take a very strong stance of “it’s a him, not me” rationale. however, others (aka known as “the cynical”) would say i have commitment issues… buuuutttt not when it comes to taking care of my healthy teeth and gums! enter dr. ronald darren baer, DMD, PC … SWM, 50ish, resident of midtown west, practicer of karataaay, etc. i have been a loyal, willing, thankful patient of his since 2010. (that’s 7 years, bitches!) he has seen me through 12ish (perhaps more?) fillings, 4 bondings, 2 crowns, 3 apartments, 1 dog and hundreds of unsuccessful ok cupid dates. he’s a keeper. and that’s not just because i get so comfy that i pass out on his exam chair from time to time, but it’s because he’s thorough. patient. and happily helped me finance my godawful crowns at 25 during the height of my quarter-life crisis. so yeah, i might find it frustrating to have a conversation with him with several instruments in my mouth since he has a habit of starting a convo with me mid-procedure, but he wins for being my number 1 dentist. thanks, dr. b, for always being woke AF. three cheers for your sweet crew as well. hey, annivae and thalia, that’s you! btw. since shit happens, don’t forget to cancel your appointment 48 hours in advance to avoid the gnarly cancelation policy.

I found this dental office listed on my Aetna website and I chose it due to proximity to my work place and couldnt have been happier! *I was able to make a check up and cleaning appointment within days (while some places can’t book you for weeks!) *It’s a very small office, but the staff is very efficient and pleasant. When I got there around lunch hour, I didnt have to wait for any patient and they took care of me promptly. *The dentist, Dr. Baer, is very personable and explained every single thing he was doing (and I was only getting a cleaning!) and answered all questions I had. I only went for a cleaning, but would definitely go back for any other services!

I used a Groupon for exam, cleaning and xrays. Was 5 minutes late to my appointment but the receptionist was very nice about it. There was no wait. Filled out some forms that included questions about your dental/oral health and the receptionist clarified all of them for me. Dr. Baer and his staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Baer asked me questions about my dental history and took notes. Everyone made my visit very enjoyable and no one tried to upsell me anything. Dr. Baer made recommendations for better oral hygiene and dental health and created an optional but recommended treatment plan for my consideration. Again, no pressure. He personally performed the cleaning himself with his assistant’s help and they did a great job (no blood, no water spilling/spraying). I asked plenty of questions and he patiently answered all of them. After I left, Dr. Baer emailed me to follow up on something we discussed during my visit. This shows he cares about his patients and wants them to understand their dental situation. Overall a pleasant experience and I would definitely go back (whether I have insurance or not). Highly recommended! I’ve seen many different dentists over the years (and have worked in a dental office before) and I can say he is one of the best.

Let me say that my mom was a dental hygienist for years so I’ve got pretty high standards. But for some reason I just went with whoever I found on my insurance website. I lucked out. Big time. Here’s a few reasons why he’s the best in town. 1.) No waiting. You know how when you go to the dentist you wait in the lobby, then you sit in the dental chair and wait, then a hygienist comes in and takes some x-rays, and then you wait in the chair a little more, and then the dentist comes in and finally says “hi” and looks at your teeth, then he goes into another room and deals with another patient and you wait some more, and the hygienist comes in again and preps some implements, and then you wait some more, and then the dentist finally comes in to clean your teeth, but by then you’ve blown about 60 minutes just waiting around? Not so with Dr. Baer. He’s got one dental room, which means he’s got one patient at a time, which means he’s not bouncing from room to room, which means it’s all about YOU. And it’s faster. 2.) Great dentist I never knew how badly my previous dentist sucked until I went to Dr. Baer. He didn’t try to sell me on anything unnecessary, but when I mentioned that I wasn’t overjoyed with the job my previous dentist did with my crown, he did (politely) suggest that perhaps a better one could be done. (When I told my mom this, she said “OH THANK GOD – that thing was horrible, but I didn’t want to hurt your feelings.) Talk about an improvement. His *temporary* crown was already better than the permanent one the previous dentist put in. And when it came down to actually creating the permanent crown, his instructions to the lab was unbelievably detailed, right down to the hand coloring: “slight calcification striae towards the top” with blah blah blah stuff I couldn’t understand. His attention to detail paid off. When I saw the crown (which he presents in a Tiffany’s box) I couldn’t believe it. And when it was in and I looked in the mirror, I actually pointed to the wrong tooth. It was so realistic I got it confused with one of my real teeth. 3.) Great staff Super friendly, but not in an annoying way. Completely accommodating. 4.) Good guy Great bedside (or “chairside”) manner. I really did luck out finding this office.
