Thankfully, I have not had many visits to dentists in my life and no bad experiences.  I came to Dr. Barnes with a recommendation, and I feel compelled to leave a great review (which I don’t write often).  From Diana’s warm and professional attitude to Sandy’s detailed approach to cleaning, they went out of their way to make me feel comfortable.  Dr. Barnes is non-pretentious and curious which is great for some water cooler convo while you wait for your cleaning.  He fixed a small chip on my tooth during an exam and we had a sound conversation about my next steps.  It’s only been one visit for me so far, but I’m going back relaxed and no fear.  Would recommend to anyone, especially people who have fear or need extensive work done.  The office atmosphere is pleasant too, for what it’s worth.

My husband has seen Dr. Barnes for years. I went to Dr. Barnes for a broken crown after a terrible experience with my then-current dentist (who bought the practice from my dentist of 20+ years). Not only would I recommend Dr. Barnes to others, but I already have. It was such a positive experience. They were kind and caring with the procedures, made sure I felt comfortable, and overall are really nice people. I will be happy to transfer my care over to Dr. Barnes going forward.

I’m very proud to be an employee of Seattle Dental Associates. I’ve spent 40 years in the dental field 25 of those years with Dr. Barnes. I confidently refer family, friends and strangers to our practice. You will receive the best care and amazing dental work. Our hygienist Sandy had been there 22 years. You will always see the same faces every time you come in. Collectively we have over 100 years of experience.

8 years ago coming to this office was my first trip to the dentist in over a decade of course I was nervous that something was wrong with my teeth. I was immediately put at ease when Dianna took my dental health history . I’m not exaggerating when I say that the office of Dr Barnes is the best dental experience I’ve ever had. Sandy, Dianna and Dr Barnes are all very experienced kind and caring healthcare providers. They all make coming to the dentist as effortless as humanly possible. And I’ve never felt pressured or up sold on any extra dental work by anybody in this office. I really feel like family when I come here, and I can’t recommend them enough

Dr Barnes and his office manager/RDA Diana are fantastic. The have helped me get over major dental visit anxiety with their calm caring nature and wealth of knowledge. I needed a lot of work including crowns, root canals and Invisalign and they helped my take care of it all with patience and understanding. Highly recommended for that hometown dentist feel with a personal touch, but smack in the middle of downtown.

I have lived in a lot of cities, and thus been to a lot of dentists. This practice is by far the best!! Diana who runs the office, and is a RDA, has the most welcoming and amazing persona, and Dr. Barnes himself is kind, calming and takes great pride in his work! The two work together flawlessly (I found out they’ve worked together for 25ish years) and really know how to make a guy smile beautifully!! Don’t look anywhere else, this is where you need to be!!

Lovely Staff and Doctor Barnes is amazing! They empathize with the patient and do everything possible to assist their customers. Very experienced staff who made my entire experience extremely comfortable. Also love their office interiors and Christmas decorations this time of the year! Overall they are by far my favorite dentist in town, I am very impressed by them and will recommend to anyone who is looking for a great dentist in Seattle.

I have nothing but good things to say about this place. Sandy’s cleanings are great and I’ve never had a problem here. Diana is great – scheduling is quick and easy. I get email reminders of my appointment and a text the day of. Paying online is easy. Everybody is nice. I hate getting my teeth cleaned but they make it as relaxed and enjoyable as possible.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Barnes since the dawn of mankind (OK, 1981) and have had superb, professional treatment each visit. Dr. Barnes and his top-notch staff (Diana, Sandy K., and Sandy 2.0) have always treated me like family. If you’re in need of a dentist, I highly recommend Dr. Barnes.

I’ve been going to Dr. Barnes for years. He and his staff have taken great care of my teeth over this time. I always feel like for my needs we take care of it at the right level. They let me know of future concerns that might come up and if it gets to the point where it needs to be addressed (like me getting a crown), then when it was finally time it was easy. Thanks for all your good work!!!!

I’ve always hated going to the dentist, but I’m thrilled to say that I actually look forward to it now that i’m going to Seattle Dental Associates! I am so so so grateful that someone referred me to Dr. Barnes. Not only is he great, but the rest of the Seattle Dental Associates staff is phenomenal! Sandy is always such a pleasure to see, and she’s so gentle and considerate when cleaning! She’s made every visit I’ve had such a pleasant experience 🙂 Diana, the Office Manager, helped get me setup with a consult for my wisdom teeth while I was in the office as well. She’s incredible! So helpful and thoughtful and nice!! If you’re looking for a relaxing, skilled and thoughtful dental office, Seattle Dental Associates should be your next call. Thanks so much for providing such GREAT service 🙂

I arrived in America on my honeymoon with a dry socket thinking the visits to the dentist were going to be expensive. I got a quote of $75 and these people are truly amazing- they ended up packing it for free and sending me on my way. Thank you so much. Professional, excellent customer service and just all round wonderful. Go here everyone!!!

From the moment I decided that dentistry was my calling back in high school, I never changed my mind and never had a moment of regret about my decision. The driving vision for my entire career has been very simple: offer excellent care while making every dental visit a positive experience and do whatever I can to have a positive effect on the dental profession as a whole. These goals are still the basis for everything we do here at Seattle Dental Associates, and I look forward to sharing in a positive dental experience with you and your family. My entire education was received at the University of Washington, earning my Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology and completing my Doctorate of Dental Surgery. In addition to continually updating my education, I am also an active member of several professional organizations which allow several educational opportunities throughout the year. Being an active member of the community, both professionally and personally, has always been one of my top priorities. I am an Executive Board Member of the University of Washington Dental Alumni Association where I also served as the Dean Jones Lecture Chairman for 32 years and as President. I am the Regent of the International College of Dentists, supervising five northwestern states and serving on the Foundation Board. I am also a Board Member and Managing Director of the Washington State Oral Health Foundation. In my local community, I am the Board President of Sharing Alongside Ministry, as well at Shoreline Community Church. My wife, MaryAnn, and I met during our undergraduate years at the U of W. We have four wonderful grown children and eight beautiful grandchildren. My time outside of the office is focused on my family, but when I do get free time I enjoy fishing, listening to music, and traveling.
