I had my dad do a filling on me today since I was having some sensitivity to sweets and knew I had some tooth decay on a back molar. I wish I had done it sooner. I know…I am embarrassed that I had a cavity as a dentist but it did give me a lot of empathy for patients. I thought my dad did a great job and I didn’t have to even tell him what to do for any of it. 🙂 I even paid him for it…well worth it. Thank you. I love my teeth. Its nice to feel so much trust where even a dentist feels so vulnerable to have their own work done. Now I have to get rid of this numbness feeling!

Hi Thanks for fitting me in. I understand I have a follow up in four weeks. Will that be when the temp crown is put on? Right now, it feel like there is a big hole in the tooth waiting to be filled. It is also a little achy. Nothing like the pain I experienced last Friday-Saturday. I don’t if this soreness should be expected right now ( 2 hrs later), but I thought I’d mention it. What food restrictions should I be on right now? Thanks

Simply Dental has given me faith in painless dentistry. When our insurance changed and I had to leave my previous dentist, I was sure I would not find another dentist that I could tolerate. My biggest fear is the shot and my previous dentist had a sort of “method” to giving shots and I wasn’t sure how that experience was going to be anywhere else. At my first appointment with this office, I was set at ease immediately by the friendly staff greeting me. The hygienist was very gentle but thorough and when Matt came in, he was also friendly and gentle. I had to go back for dental work and was quite nervous about it but when I arrived, I was put at ease and they made me completely comfortable, even giving me a warmed blanket to help me feel cozy. I would say that they go above and beyond to be great and though they may be Simply Dental, to me they are extraordinary dentists and staff!

The visit with Dr. Ruby Thomas was excellent the staff was very nice and caring, I was called in the back right away he thing is I just feel it was kind of rushed when I was seen by Dr. Ruby I know he has other patients I still think he didn’t get a good look inside my mouth, I have an abscess on my gum the tooth in between my gums hurts, I’m due for a deep cleaning in September why do I have puss and blood in my gum? I need the tooth pulled out with another on the side I don’t think I need a deep cleaning, I feel like I was rushed out and not looked at good.

Since graduating from dental school in 2004, what Dr. Thompson appreciates most about dentistry is the opportunity to change someone's life and make them feel and look better. He enjoys listening to what his patients want or need to change and finding them ways to help them achieve their goals. Having had the opportunity to practice in several areas of the country, he always finds his way back to Utah. Together with his wife and two sons, he loves to experience new things, travel, and most of all he enjoys all the best of the outdoor lifestyle Utah has to offer. He spends his free time camping, hiking, hunting and fishing, and participating in competitive sports with their dogs.
