I keep going to Smiles on Madison because the receptionist are amazing. It takes basically nothing for them to remember you and your voice forever, and it is so sweet. I have been going here for many years and I have seen many different dental hygienist with only one issue from a hygienist who didn’t work there and was just covering there because of an emergency. They put thorough notes in your file that help you down the road, for example I am someone who gags a lot so they know to be careful with x rays and such without me saying anything.

I recently had an appointment with the Dental Hygentist, Eileen, at Smiles on Madison. I have been to several dentist offices in my years, and I must say, I was very impressed. My teeth never looked or felt so clean. She took the time to properly educate me on how to floss and brush more effectively and efficently without making me feel inadequate. Shockingly, i was doing it all wrong. She didnt push any products forceably. (That was a big plus) Dr Kim was through and made sure to answer all my questions. It was a great decision to come to the folks here at Smiles on Madison. I would recommend them to anyone looking for excellent dental services. As a side note I have taken Eileen’s advice and
purchased a Sonicare toothbrush and water flosser. I definitely have noticed a difference than in conventional brushing and flossing. What a great investment. Thank you Smiles on Madison!

I had been a patient of this dental clinic for over a year meeting a new dentist at every single visit, but since Dr. Kim purchased the practice in March of 2017, the level of service and consistency of personnel has risen to a level of excellence. It makes such a difference when the owner is actually the dentist on the premises. I took my elderly mother in for a cleaning. They were the BEST! They were so gentle and patient with my Mom. They cleaned her teeth first with a gentle tooth brush and gauze, so no constant flow of water and spitting (hard on the elderly I am told) also they kipped the pumice sanding, without being asked, as that would be hard on her also. thank you!

I have been going to Smiles on Madison for almost 7 years. Always a good experience, easy to work with my insurance, etc. But today they really outdid themselves! My toddler fell and clearly loosened his front teeth. I was a wreck, especially with this happening in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Kim answered my emergency call immediately and was able to meet me at the office in an hour. He was so kind to this very panicked mom and really great and gentle with my son. He also reached out to a pediatric dentist colleague to review our xrays. We have a plan of action and my son’s teeth are going to be okay. I could not be more grateful. They will have my business for life!

Update 7/24/20 “During the Apocalypse” Needed a quick checkup for possible cavity/root canal…no waiting, very safe, lots of “safe distance” and best practices temp check, place I-glass. Though I have postponed my routine cleaning-now that I’ve been inside, will definitely schedule – they’re being very careful. Same excellent service, as always! —-Great service, friendly staff – no hassle. Our whole family (wife, daughter and son) and myself have been very happy with our experience. We have been patients for 2+ yrs and had multiple visits. Scheduling is always very easy (they usually have weekend hours, too) and send reminders (very helpful). Dr. Kim and Evelyn are great and very thorough. We’ve also had more involved procedures: cavities, root canal (ouch) and all very professional and easy. They are also very fair with billing. I was recommended to go to Dr. Kim from a close friend of mine and I had an extremely pleasant experience at Smiles On Madison! I have not had the best experience with dentists in my early years, so I absolutely dread going for even check-ups. I saw something that looked like a cavity and I was super nervous to go get it checked, but also wanted to get rid of it before I would require a bigger procedure, so went in for my annual check-up + potential cavity fill. I especially do not enjoy first patient visits, because the initial check-up took TWO hours at another dental office and it got me exhausted. But to my surprise, my initial x-rays and checks were finished within one hour (probably less). And even better, what I thought was cavity was just staining from a chipped filling and I was told that I didn’t need to worry about it unless it was really bothering me. Dr. Kim was amazing and the receptionists were super friendly as well.

Honestly the best experience I’ve had at a dental office. I first moved to Seattle late September, and I had my filling fall out in October. I hadn’t bothered to look for a dentist because I was lazy and stupid, and I ended up paying for it big time by having my right back molar hurt like hell in late December. I was in a lot of pain, both physical and mental, as I was looking up dentists, trying to find one that would take in and see a new patient so close to the holiday season. Smiles on Madison was the first place that picked up my call and had an actual person answer (and not the answering machine), took my insurance, and had an opening the next day. I showed up the next day, filled out some brief paperwork, and Dr. Kim saw me around five minutes after. He was super patient and kind with me, and gave me a quick emergency filling since I had to leave town the following day and was unable to stay to get the possible root canal I needed. The filling lasted for around two weeks, and saved me from a lot of unnecessary pain before I was able to get the root canal out of town. When I came back, Dr. Kim was able to order the crown for me, and a few weeks later, Dr. Chua was able to put the crown on and did a full set of dental exams. Dr. Kim, Dr. Chua, and the assistant were all great, and made sure I felt comfortable the whole way, and talked me through every step to make sure I knew what was going on. If I was in any sort of pain, they didn’t hesitate to numb me some more and I barely felt anything. The receptionist was also prompt with billing my insurance and explained every line of my receipt to me and made sure I wasn’t getting charged for things I didn’t pay for. I’m definitely going to keep going back and feel safe knowing that my teeth are in their capable hands. Also, my new crown is awesome, feels great, and I’m so happy I can eat again on the right side of my teeth. 😛

I’ve been Dr. Kim’s patient for 12 or 13 years and followed him to his new location when he bought this business. Even though I’ve now lived in Federal Way for several years, I’ve stayed with him. That should testify to my trust, commitment, and complete satisfaction in him and his staff, who also followed him to Smiles On Madison. Sensitive to patient needs, he and his staff provide outstanding competent, compassionate care using state-of-the-art equipment. They take a gentle approach to treatment, so you always feel at ease. Moreover, enough cannot be said about Dr. Kim’s personal and professional integrity, honesty, and ethics. So far I have had a great experience here with the dentists, hygienists & receptionists. They were able to use most of the x-Rays from my last dentist because they were within a year, saving me money. They were friendly, the cleaning was great and the hygienist was very informative. They gave me a quote ahead of time so I would know about how much to expect to spend, and answered all my questions kindly. My filling has been a little painful after so I went in to have it checked it out and the dentist saw me, re-took an X-ray to make sure it was fully sealed, and they didn’t charge me for the visit. We’ve been going here since this location opened (so a couple of years and old owners vs new owners). Yes, there was a bit of a rough transition before Dr Kim took over–but since then, everything is back it being great. The staff is very nice, the dental hygienists are great (and really nice when you have sensitive teeth like I do), and Dr Kim is great too. My husband has his wisdom teeth pulled there, and we’ve both had cavities filled and all experiences have been positive. They don’t try to upsell you on unnecessary work and are very understanding. Highly recommend them.

If you are looking for a dentist you cannot get any better than Smiles on Madison. After having been through a TERRIBLE time at my last dentist I was more than leery of going somewhere new. With my insurance I have limited provider options so decided to try them. I am SO glad I did. Everyone in this office is incredibly nice, knowledgeable, professional and great at what they do from booking and billing to cleanings and major dental work. They really care about their patients and want to make sure that you are happy. They will never recommend procedures you don’t need and the cost and billing are up front and honest. Smiles on Madison was a terrific dental office! I recently moved back to Seattle and found Smiles through my insurance provider. Originally, I chose Smiles because the office is very conveniently located for me, right on Madison and in the same new building complex as Safeway. But the exceptional care is what will keep me coming back. Appointment set up was quick, easy, and the front desk staff were very friendly. They even gave me the option to e-mail new patient documentation to fill out ahead of time so I could just turn it in right when I showed up. This could be a great time saver for anyone with a long health history. The office itself is brand new, very nicely lit, clean and orderly, but with a surprisingly warm and comforting quality to it. I asked the staff, and apparently they actively strive for that ambiance by choosing specific color tones, furniture etc. Whatever they did, it worked and the environment was very calming. All the staff was fantastic and friendly from the front desk, to the Dental Assistants, Hygienists, and Dentists. They were professional and adept at their jobs, and did a wonderful job of describing what my dental health status was and enthusiastically answering any questions I had. I had an efficient cleaning in which a few cavities were found, but there was no judgment what-so-ever about this or my semi-poor flossing history. I never felt ashamed, they simply explained what I could do better in a polite and understanding manner. My return visit to fill the cavities was an equally positive experience. I additionally returned for a teeth whitening and was again greeted with a flawless experience. All in all, after three visits with excellent care each time, I will definitely be returning to Smiles on Madison.

Evelyn and Dr. Kim are great. I have been a patient for several years and the whole team makes dental care very easy and stress free. Scheduling is easy (often Saturday appointments work), they send confirmation texts or calls and once the visit is over they’re very helpful with insurance and billing. I have also used Smiles for Root Canal and even that awful procedure was pretty easy. They are pros and glad they’re so convenient.
