I originally got braces 4 years ago from another orthodontist, but I had a terrible experience. I wish I had known of Dr. Stieg and Watchel’s office back than! I needed braces again because I had a baby molar on the bottom that needed to be extracted since no adult tooth ever came in underneath it. The baby tooth is larger in size than an adult tooth, so my midline was not only off, but also my previous orthodontist had given me TMJ from attempting to use headgear. Dr Stieg fixed that popping and awful headaches by aligning my teeth right!!! I used Dr. Maleki for my Periodontist work of tooth extraction, rod implant and my adult sized tooth cap. They have a working communicative relationship with Dr. Steig & Watchel. It made it very easy for me because I have such a busy schedule. They are precise with their work to perfection. The staff, & Dr. Stieg, who primarily worked on my teeth, are amicable, take time with each patient and I can genuinely say I’ll miss coming in to catch up with everyone. They made me feel like family and that means so much to me, as well as any patient I know would like to be treated.

Can’t say enough about my experience with Dr. Stieg and his team. The front desk staff is always so sweet and easy to schedule with-they’ve even worked me in after I showed up late for an appt due to traffic-and their reminder system is fantastic. Their technicians all truly care about what they do and you can tell.  Dr. Stieg is simply the best, he is always so thorough, detailed and explains things so thoroughly. Love the treatment plan they came up for me with my Invisalign, I’m not even half way through and am really loving the results so far. Thank you guys for doing such amazing work and being so personable along the way.

This place is great. I got my braces done here years ago and still get compliments on how great my teeth look. I recently came in to get retainers replaced because my furry friend ate them. The process was quick, easy and friendly. I love coming here. Everyone is super nice. The dr, front desk and assistants are all so friendly. Most often businesses like this are rude and don’t wanna help. But here is the opposite. Everyone is super knowledgeable and friendly. My three sisters and I have all gotten our braces done here and I’m so glad for that!

Recently I decided to get fitted for a retainer because my two top teeth moved after not wearing a retainer for over 20 years. I went through orthodontistry hell to get my super straight teeth and I’d like to keep ’em that way. My original orthodontist I found here retired and I was sent over to this place. They are fantastic. The facilities are great and have a spectacular view of Old Town below. If I were a teenager going through braces trauma, the view would help a little. 😉 The staff are super pleasant and were very accommodating with the insurance switch from office to office. The doc has a great sense of humor as he notes that my two teeth really aren’t that bad, but he gets my vanity and is working with me to move these suckers back! My teeth are sore as hell, but that’s my fault, not theirs! Lesson: wear your stinking retainers folks!!!

I would highly recommend this orthodontist for any child or adult.  The service is amazing from the receptionist to the staff to the Orthodontists.  They treat everyone like family and they are the best!  They have don’t my children’s smiles as well as my own.  I have relocated over the years and still drive an hour to see them!! They are the BEST!!!

Dr. Stieg and his staff are TOP NOTCH!! From my consult, to being fitted with braces, to the super high tech equipment they use in office, my entire experience has been nothing short of 5 STAR! If you are looking for an orthodontist and dental staff that exhibit excellent care, compassion, and professionalism, then you need look no longer. Dr. Stieg even has 2 offices, and takes appointments on Saturday which is extremely convenient! What’s even better is receiving the text message reminders for my appointments, so there is no need for an appointment card (that I would usually lose anyway!!). Overall I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Stieg and his entire staff! Don’t settle, this is office offers it all!!!

This practice is the best.  Efficient, effective and kind.  They did a great job on braces for two of our children and were very patient with our oldest son (and me) as his treatment progressed slowly due to his own reluctance to wear rubber bands.  Always positive and encouraging.  I wish Arizona had more medical professionals like these.

If you have ever read a single word I’ve written and didn’t believe it, now is time to start. These guys changed my life. I cannot express that with enough emphasis. They literally changed my life. You know that thing about you that you can’t really shake the feeling of hating? Hopefully most of you don’t have it but I suspect a lot of people do… You know, you’re like, god, I’m so awesome except for this one little thing. I hated my teeth for years. Like, hated. Hated smiling. Hated pictures. Hated hated hated. They weren’t even that horrible but I’m such a teeth snob about women I was sure there was no way anyone could find me attractive with my two stragglers. And then in my LATE teens my parents agreed to pay for braces. Greatest blessing of my life. So we went to three or four consultations and the orthodontists performed various tests and we received quotes that ranged from $10,000 to $40,000. Most of them said I would need surgery to fix my alignment issues. Most importantly we just didn’t click with any of the docs. So we got a referral to Drs. Steig and Wachtel and the stars, in fact, aligned. They were the least expensive and offered the most logically sound solution. No crazy jaw realignment surgeries. No craziness at all. I seriously could not recommend them more. Everyone in their office is super friendly. They walk you through the process. Answer all your questions. I’m not sure if they still do it (I’m assuming they do) but they used to work out a payment plan. Seriously top notch in every way. The joy that I experienced after my braces came off was almost inspiring enough to make me want to become an orthodontist. It brought me more joy than any other event or series of events that have ever occurred in my life. When all was said and done, I felt like a new human. They told me later that they took my original impressions to their industry night where they talk about tough cases. Their colleagues all agreed I needed surgery. And then they busted out my final impressions gansta style and blew away their colleagues with the course of treatment. These guys are brilliant. If you don’t like your teeth, you will after the guys get done with you.

Hands down the best orthodontic Practice ever! In 2015 I decided to invest in Invisalign and it was the greatest decision of my life! Dr. Stieg and Dr. Wachtel are not only talented but kind, patient, thoughtful, and just down right amazing physicians!! I was in a military family and have seen many orthodontic specialists over the last 20 years but have yet to find a staff as caring, office locations more clean, and truly have not had a more pleasant experience getting dental work done. I have 2 young children and travel for my job, never once did I have an issue with scheduling or with the offices accommodating my needs (and they love babies)! I can’t thank them enough for all they’ve done for me over the last 3 years!!! I wish I could give 10 stars!

We visited this office for an evaluation for my younger son. We moved recently and had to leave a beloved orthodontist that was just too far away to make the regular checkups. My older one switched to a different Arcadia orthodontist and he has not been all that thrilled, after experience with our previous orthodontist for phase 1 (whom he really liked). As such, he suggested we make a different choice for his brother. That’s how we ended up here, based on reviews. I could not be more impressed with the doctor and staff. And, better yet – Saturday hours. He also was in no hurry to treat – he advised us we were at least 9-12 months away from braces for my son. We look forward to starting treatment here when the time comes.

Dr. Stieg, Dr. Wachtel and their staff are wonderful. Dr. Stieg was my orthodontist and my daughter’s orthodontist. The receptionists and the dental assistants are very kind and always professional. I’ve never had a bad experience in their office. When I had my braces taken off I had just finished my teaching degree. Dr. Stieg was so generous. He forgave the balance that I still owed. Dr.Stieg is amazing! We are residents of another country, and were visiting Scottsdale! My daughter had an emergency with her braces, and he saw her in his office on Good Friday within 15 min of my call! He remembered meeting us at a prior evaluation, and was able to fix my daughters emergency in 30 min. He was fast, efficient, friendly and so kind. We will be using Dr. Stieg for all our Ortho work and we highly recommend his office! Thank you Dr. Stieg and associates!

Short Version: Go to Dr. Steig, pay him whatever he asks for, do exactly what he says, HE’S WORTH IT. Long Version: The Office: Immaculate, relaxing, very open and airy. I go to the downtown Scottsdale, centrally located. I’ve been to the North Scottsdale office too, it’s like a spa. Nice warm colors, beautifully decorated. All in all a great physical place. The Fabulous Office Staff: AH-MAZING!! Let me just say, I’ll be getting my braces removed in a couple of months and I’m already having anxiety about what I’ll do with out these ladies lol. Seriously, I actually look forward to chatting up with these girls. They’re so friendly and welcoming. You can really tell they enjoy what they do and enjoy working with each other. Makes a HUGE difference. The Doctor: This man right here….. KNOWS what he’s doing. He is VERY confident in what he does (not cocky… although he definitely has a right to be) so he makes you feel very secure that you’re going to look gorgeous when he’s done with you. He’s also has a very relaxed but focused personality. Just and all around great person. I posted some pictures of my “grill” before and now that we’re 2/3’s of the way through the process… that should be enough to drop what you’re doing and call him immediately. BUT if it isn’t let me give you a few more reasons…. The Experience: When I went in for my consultation, he was extremely professional, didn’t try to sell me a bunch of stuff. He took some panoramic X-rays, and pictures of my smile, explained in detail how he would transform my smile from “meh” to “Daannnnggggg girl”. After reading Dallas G.’s review I was pretty hype…. Anyway, the finance guru sat down with me to talk cost…. gave me the option of using the metal braces or the clear ones and the price difference but again, not salesy at all… more like option 1 cost X and option 2 cost Y. I paid the bill and got the party started! Every single visit I was always welcome with warm friendly smiling faces, seriously felt like I was attending a girls book club or something … (well Dr. Steig isn’t a girl but you catch the drift). The girls and the Doc explained in great detail what the next steps were, what i should expect, what they were going to do, how my teeth would be manipulated. They all know they’re stuff. I NEVER had to wait for any of my appointments, I literally would walk in and before my butt actually hit the chair one of the girls would be walking me back to the chair. I was in an out in a reasonable time and NEVER had an issue with scheduling appointments. I stuck to the program and I kept progressing as promised. This is important: WHATEVER HE TELLS YOU TO DO, DO IT…. RELIGIOUSLY! If you’re thinking about going to this place stop thinking and just do it, it’s seriously will be the best investment you will make in yourself. He’s a perfectionist and it definitely shows. I have a couple of colleagues who have recently completed their treatment with a different doctor and their teeth still look jacked… now I know you definitely don’t want to be that guy/girl that paid a grip to get your teeth fixed and you still come out looking like roger the rabbit…

This place is outstanding. I’m 16 years old and it’s the best decision my parents have ever made. Both doctors are extremely nice and the staff is friendly and very professional. The price, as braces go, is not outrageous, and the quality of your smile is great. Some orthodontists try to make your smile as big as possible, but here at Stieg and Wachtel they customize your smile to what would fit YOU the best. I am very happy with my results and the way the whole process while here.

This is such a friendly practice, the staff are all so helpful. With 2 busy active teenagers they are always willing to adjust your appointments and never give you an attitude if you need to change things around. In addition my 3rd child has been in for consultations at no charge, assessing her orthodontia needs. Both Dr. Steig and Dr. Wachtel remember my kids and ask them specific questions about what is going on in their lives. Just a great ‘personal touch’ that is lost in some Dr. offices nowadays. Highly recommend Steig and Wachtel Orthodontics!
