I had a very complicated case of an open bite that my dentist and several others had said would require surgery and having my mouth sown shut for 10 months.  I wanted to avoid surgery and the 10 month process if possible.   I was referred to Dr. Ikeda as he is current on the latest procedures and technology.  He was able to fix my bite with non-surgical technics.  I now have a perfect bite and even straighter teeth!  Sweet Smiles staff, especially Jaime, took incredible care of me.  Jaime always confirmed I understood my instructions and next steps.   I greatly appreciate Dr. Ikeda, Jaime and all the staff at Sweet Smiles and highly recommend them!

Today I’m getting my braces on and super excited and kind of nervous as I don’t like pain and not good with shots! My sister Annika already comes here and she’s doing great. Dr. Ikeda is very like able and the office welcoming as it very spacious and clean. Aged Rodarte helped my mom by giving her financial options she couldn’t resist! She’s very good at explaining the process.

I’m an adult who came in to explore the possibility of Invisalign. Dr. Ikeda thoroughly reviewed my dental situation and explained it all to me. Mine was a tough case. His office did xrays and pictures as part of the consultation. He was honest about what he could and couldn’t do and explained why some changes could cause other problems. Ayde coordinated the consultation with a prosthodontist and submitted my info to Invisalign. Ultimately, previous dental work prevented me from getting the results I wanted. I chose to not go forward. Ayde totally refunded my deposit and one payment. They did not keep one penny even though they had spent hours reviewing my case. It is rare to find people like Dr. Ikeda and Ayde who are truly patient focused.

I Just got my braces on not too long ago Sweet an Smiles Energy in the office was very positive,the energy was so great that I conquered my fear an got braces ! Other orthodontist places have only positive energy in the room with the doctor but Sweet an Smiles you feel the positive energy everywhere not only with the doctor but with the staff an especially with Ayde Rodarte ,is very professional with managing what needs to be done if you have questions she will go over them into detail to make sure you understand completely.

Our experience has been very good so far planning Braces for my daughter. Ayde was very knowledgeable with financial questions and was reassuring to both my ex husband and myself as we are coparenting. She was also patient with additional questions that we had about procedures. The doctor, technician and hygentest were also friendly and patient. Looking forward to a great few years in this partnership.

Came in today for braces and let me just say Dr. Ikeda and his whole entire staff are great. At first I was hesitate to get braces since I’ve already gotten them before at another office but Dr. Ikeda and his staff explained every process to me thoroughly and made my experience great. I’ve gotten braces before and the difference between the two places is crazy you really see the difference between the two as Dr. Ikeda’s office is professional, clean and efficient. Not only is Dr. Ikeda great but the whole staff is too everyone is very knowledgeable and I definitely feel comfortable to let anyone there work on my teeth. If you’re looking for a great place to get braces then Sweet Smiles is the place to go!

Strengths: I have been skeptical of a lot of orthodontics locations, but this place has been a very good experience. From the orthodontist Dr. Hideki Ikeda to the very caring employee Jaime Colin, everyone will ensure you are well taken care of. Dr. Ikeda is likely the best orthodontist provider at this location and if you like him and want him to be your attending dentist, you can request that with the front desk. If preferred, you are even able to request your assistant/other staff members who will always try to be the one who takes care of you before the orthodontist sees you. As a provider myself, I respect that Dr. Ikeda always has valuable information to share, stays within his scope of practice, and does not overstep the boundaries like many other providers out there. All questions are always welcomed to be asked at any time. There is even room for some casual discussions if time allows. Unlike other dental/ortho offices that gladly take your money and then try to do their work without giving you periodic updates after each appointment, Dr. Ikeda is very OCD and a perfectionist which reflect very well on your treatment plan and progress. Jaime Colin is the one individual who has always tried to keep my spirits up and acted like a friend to me. He has a very nice personality and will keep a conversation going if needed. It is very rare to find this behavior at any healthcare provider’s offices because the other provider offices place a larger emphasis on profits rather than customer satisfaction and customer relationship management. Weaknesses: Although the online appointment system could be improved a bit so that patients don’t drive over 30 minutes away to find out the office is closed, this is a small detail for the amount of care you will get here. I suspect that it was just a minor detail that the unexpected pandemic had forced the office to close abruptly without allowing the online appointment system to catch up quickly enough. Opportunities: Some employees are not as polite and will try to pressure you into filling out reviews before the treatment is even done. I do not believe in this type of behavior and perhaps these employees should be retrained so that they can understand how important customer relationship management should be. Some other employees are very reserved and this may lead to some odd silences in between procedures such as X-rays or pictures. Perhaps this could be a bit of notice to those employees. Even though there are some weaknesses as described above, they do not warrant a loss of a star from the review. Every business/organization will never be perfect, but it is up to the employees who act in the company’s best interests to set an example for other employees.

I highly recommend Sweet Smiles….  Dr Ikeda is awesome!  Professional, efficient, genuinely caring, coolest Orthodontist you will find.  Even when I just go in for a routine check-up, when finished, Dr. Ikeda always takes the time to come over and check-up on me as well before I leave. His staff (special shout out to Jaime, he’s the best) are always professional, friendly and efficient.  I go to the Garden Grove location… Comfortable, friendly atmosphere with a great vibe every time I have walked into this office… always super clean!  Very modern & definitely kid friendly..   10 Stars!!

I originally heard about this office from other patients and decided to bring my children here for their dental work. They are very well taken care at this office. My daughter originally had a consult for orthodontics with Dr. Ikeda and when ready, I am planning on getting her orthodontic work done by him. After having my 2 year old and 1 year old, my teeth shifted a lot and there was minor spacing that I know needed to eventually be taken care of. I decided to make an appointment for a consult here once I found out the office did adult orthodontic work, as well. The dental assistant Jolleen is amazing. She did a phenomenal job walking me through the whole process of taking pictures and x-rays of my teeth. She made me feel super comfortable. Dr. Ikeda listened to all of my concerns and addressed them in the consult. He is an awesome orthodontist that definitely knows what he is doing. I trust my teeth in his hands. The financial options are definitely flexible and Aiyda assured me that they are here to work with me. It definitely showed as well. So take it from me, don’t waste your time going to different consults, which I did, and choose Sweet Smiles. The orthodontist and staff is amazing!

I found out about Dr.Ikeda through my kids dentist Dr.Pham which is the same practice. I’ve had braces before and due to not wearing my retainers, I have been experiencing a lot of shifting. So I decided to get back into them. Here’s how it went. When I called in to schedule my appointment, Crystal got me in literally the next day! Score right?! She has been so pleasant ever since and is always accommodating me and my busy work schedule. After my consultation with Dr.Ikeda, Ayde helped me with my financial options and hands down, made it so much easier for me! She was very thorough and made sure I understood what was being covered by my insurance. Every time I see her, she is always smiling! The entire staff actually is always happy, and smiling and welcoming. Especially Joleen. She has been my dental assistant since day one. she definitely makes it easy. She explains what she is going to be doing next and gives me advice. Instead of just sticking her hand in my mouth; which I really appreciate. HANDS DOWN I would recommend this practice to anyone and EVERYONE.

Dr.Ikeda and his staff are amazing! My sister and cousin’s experience with their braces has been a wonderful experience.Dr.Ikeda has given us outstanding care with first a professional consultation explaining and answering all of our questions and being super compassionate during his process with their braces. Scheduling appointments has been such a smooth process, and the back office staff are wonderful with the kids. We are super happy that we chose Sweet Smiles Modern Orthodontics for their braces journey and that’s why we will be referring friends and family to them.

If you need braces this is the place to go! Dr. Ikeda is top notch, he’s up for the tough cases like mine. The staff are amazing here, they are always smiling, they have always greeted me by name, if I have questions, they are great at explaining everything to me and making sure I understand. I have to say a huge thank you to Jaime! he is always the lucky one that gets to do the torture sessions with me, just kidding. Jodi and Brandon are also great along with rest of the staff. I recommend coming in and checking out the staff and Dr. Ikeda, you won’t regret it.

I am extremely happy that I decided to take my 9 year old to Sweet Smiles. After our initial consultation I was convinced that Dr. Ikeda was the perfect choice for my daughter’s orthodontic needs. The staff is super friendly and helpful I am especially thankful to Lexi for making my daughter feel comfortable at all her appointments. I highly recommend this office.

Dr. Ikeda and his staff are amazing. Braces for two boys are done effectively, thoroughly, and efficiently. Modern is not about the office, it is about the philosophy of orthodontics. Dr. Ikeda does an incredible consultation: reviewing bone growth, treatment scheduling, and (my favorite) complete comprehension of the treatment plan and philosophy. Dr. Ikeda makes time for his patients, even when he is busy. His staff is always pleasant, the kind of place where everyone knows your name. You get to know the staff as people who care about you. It’s this mix that makes Sweet Smiles an amazing office and business.

Love this office! So nice and modern. It was recently remodeled! They have tv on the ceiling and iPads in the waiting room. I took my brother in to get his braces consult and they did a great job. Jolleen took his photos and X-rays, she talked him through everything that she was going to do. Dr. Ikeda was very thorough when explaining what he needed

If you are looking for a top notch orthodontist then Dr. Ikeda and his team are it. I have a perfect smile now and it’s all thanks to Dr. Ikeda and his amazing team.  If you have a complex case like mine was, then definitely go here because Dr. Ikeda can tweak your teeth to perfection.  I was told by another orthodontist that I couldn’t get braces without having jaw surgery, but lo and behold Dr. Ikeda was able to perform my treatment without surgery and it saved me thousands of dollars. He is knowledgeable, skillful, and the entire team is very professional, kind, and compassionate. The office has up to date equipment with X-rays and scanners as well as television and surround sound so you don’t get bored while you are waiting. Everything is at your comfort level, and the staff are very welcoming. You also get email reminders and text messages so you will never miss an appointment. Choosing Dr. Ikeda as my orthodontist was one of the best decisions I have ever made and now I have a perfect white smile I can show off to the world. Thank you Dr. Ikeda and team!
