As always it’s a pleasure to see Debby Knaur and Dr. “H”. Between Debby’s professional talents, un-matching compassion, and great sense of humor she’s shamed and assisted me in keeping my teeth for 15+ years longer than we both thought when we embarked on this journey. Dr “H” comes in and checks me out pretty much each visit but he says I need Debby more than him, LOL. Dr. Abbey Horwitz graciously accommodated me on Dec 14, 2015 to check previous dental maintenance work. He made a few adjustments as my bite was off a little. There was no charge for this work, and he encouraged me to follow-up with him in a few days if I was still uncomfortable. I discussed future dental restorative work to be done, and he said he believed it was important but could wait awhile if I was not ready. Before leaving the office, Dr. Horwitz provided answered a question I had about teeth whitening. I have been utilizing this Dr. H.’s dental services for 25+ years and have always found him to be highly skilled, informative, personable and warm. There is a reason Dr. Horwitz: The Art of Cosmetic Dentistry is voted Winner/BEST at the Beach year after year. I feel blessed to have him as my trusted dentist!

I didn’t have a dentist so I called their practice because I was experiencing pain in my back tooth. The receptionist was very friendly and accommodating. I was able to get an appointment the next day. Everyone there has amazing customer service. The dentist does a great job as well. The entire staff is very knowledgeable and available to help you. I like that there are no hidden fees when it comes time for payment either. They have a long term customer.

The office is nicely decorated so much so that it doesn’t feel like a ‘medical’ office. We see “Lissi”, one of the hygienist, and love her professional and kind nature. We’ve seen both Dr. Horwitz and Dr. D. Dorfman… both are easy to be around! Today Dr. Dorfman filled my young sons cavities and did a fantastic job easing his nerves. He seems to speak “4 year old” pretty fluently…which was entertaining and calming for both of us. We should all watch out for “Cavity Bugs!”

I haven’t been living in Virginia long but one of my back molars were giving me tons of issues. I live in Norfolk but the first dentist I called wasn’t taking in new patients so I took a chance and called Abbey Horwitz since it had the most reviews and best feedback. I’ve now been there 3 times, they’ve done the pictures and a cleaning and have even filled a small cavity. Every time I go they are so nice and hospitable, the doctors really know their stuff. My molar ended up just hurting from sensitive and I was given sensitive toothpaste and the new Crest sensi strips and my molar has gotten significantly better in the past 2 weeks. I thought my tooth was so horrible and it ended up just being sensitive. I love all the doctors I’ve met so far, it made going to the dentist super easy and painless, they definitely make you feel comfortable. I won’t be going again for several months but I feel comfortable knowing they are my dentist. And super big plus, they take TRICARE! Which made my life so easy.

I tell this to friends all the time, but anyone who is looking to have the best experience as well as care than look no further! Every time I go in to see the hygienist Kristy Simpson, I just walk away feeling so well about myself, feeling like rather than being at an appointment, that I was just sitting with a friend. Root canal day!! I LOVE THIS PLACE! I’m so happy I found this office they are truly the best! I’ve had some bad experience prior to them with a different dentist and this office has changed my view on dentistry 100%. Everyone is so kind and quick to offer any help or guidance that you need. Their billing is also very good compared to other offices. My procedure today was honestly so easy I could do it again tomorrow! Dr Dorfman and his PA Trish were absolutely AMAZING!They both took that extra time to explain things to me and also to answer any and all questions I had. Abbey has been our go to guy for over 30 years!!! Perhaps his longest patient? Met him when we first moved to VB in 1980 and have been a follower ever since. It’s been a long while, since I’ve been able to relax in a dental office. I must say, the atmosphere is very bright and welcoming. The dental hygienist was really sweet, very professional and very comforting. I have yet to read a negative review about this dental office and I can now say that I 100% agree that this is THE BEST at the beach. After having negative experiences at other offices in Virginia Beach, I steered clear of going back for far too long and came to DREAD going to the dentist. Cannot believe my last dental visit!!! I broke a tooth on a Wednesday evening and knew I would need a crown. WOW, just WOW, never thought that I would look forward to Dentistry visits but Dr D and all staff was/is efficient yet gentle throughout the entire procedure(s) including billing. Since I am terrified by syringes, I insisted upon no local anesthetic. They initially questioned that decision but agreed to proceed with caution. The procedure was not painless BUT was amazingly tolerable. Wow, these folks are great at what they do and I am very greatful and happy to have found them. She is very calming, kind, and always remembers details from the previous 6 months. I am one of those extremely scared people of dental procedures and recently had to get a root canal.
