I’m not big on going to the dentist, but Dr. Moon made it as stress-free as possible. I needed to have a wisdom tooth extracted and I tend to get anxious when having dental work done. The entire staff made it much smoother and easier than I could have imagined. The admin staff at the front was friendly, the dental assistants were friendly and professional, and during the procedure itself, Dr. Moon was careful, patient and precise. The only downside is the lack of options when it comes to anesthesia. I would have preferred nitrous oxide instead of the needle stuff, but the pain was not as bad as I thought it was going to be, especially post-op. I traveled all the way from Humble, Tx because of the positive reviews (I’m originally from California and didn’t know any dentists out here), and I wasn’t disappointed. the 35 min drive was worth it to be taken care of by such friendly and capable people.

I was one of those people who would never go to a dentist who didn’t provide the nitrous oxide before the dreaded numbing shots, until I met Dr. Moon. In my search for a dentist close to home, I’d already been disappointed by a couple. Certain I’d need to visit a dozen more because I’m so picky, I went to my first appointment at Urban Dental in need of a root canal. I was absolutely terrified, so when Dr. Moon informed me he doesn’t do the gas I was ready to bolt. Amazingly, he was somehow able to coax me into staying (I have NO idea how), but in the end I never felt one bit of pain. Since then, I happily make appointments and never feel nervous or afraid. (That’s saying A LOT!) I figured I was doomed to spend the rest of my life terrified of dentist visits. I couldn’t be happier and more relieved now that I’ve found a trustworthy, caring, friendly dentist. Thank you, Dr. Moon!

I have been a patient of Dr. Moon’s for many years and he is the best dentist I have ever come across. Not only is he a skilled dentist, but he is very efficient and spends time when needed. The work that he does is always top-notch and the professional suggestions always spot on. I originally came to him for a second opinion from another dentist that basically told me I needed a ton of work. Whereas the other DDS was trying to pad the bill, Dr. Moon was honest and essentially told me that none of the suggestions that she made were necessary. It was refreshing to see a Dentist that is not only a true professional but also honest. I have been a patient ever since.

The plan for the day is ‘No Pain’.” This is what Dr. Moon said to me while in the chair for my root canal. That plan was executed successfully. Alright, I’m a big baby at the dentist, I’ll admit. The thought of a standard cleaning makes me jittery. But Dr. Moon and his staff do a great job calming the nerves. I hadn’t taken the time to find a dentist since moving back to Houston, preferring to travel and visit my old dentist, but when my tooth flared up and I needed an emergency visit, I scoured the reviews and found Dr. Moon. Yelp certainly didn’t let me down on this one, Dr. Moon and his practice are definitely 5 stars. It starts by meeting with Tracy, the sweetest person alive, at the reception desk. She walked me through filling out my forms, answered all the questions I had about them. Next up, Damary came in and helped me with my x-rays. And I do mean help. My tooth was so painful that I couldn’t hold the plate in place, so she held it there for me while taking the picture. Dr. Moon came in next, introduced himself, gave me an examination, and explained it to me straight: Alright, you need a root canal, but to be honest, I can’t kill the pain in that tooth today. You hear the stories about the horrible root canals that hurt and leave you knocked out for days? That’d be yours if we did it right now. Let’s hold off for a few days and let it calm down a bit.” The guy is great. Honest, direct, patient, and concerned with your comfort. Give Dr. Moon a visit and you won’t ever look back.

I am a LONG time patient of Dr. Moon’s. When I started with them, I was not all that regular with my dental care–if it ain’t broke…–however, they are so easy to deal with that I now do regular checkups and cleanings. I’ve had old fillings replaced and other procedures and everything has gone smoothly. I am needle-phobic and DREAD getting the numbing needle but Dr. Moon does a great job of distracting me. Tracy is a gem at the front desk: patient, professional and welcoming. Damary stays on top of my coverage. I had a few different hygienists over the years and all are stellar. I never thought I would enjoy the dentist, but this works for me! Also big bonus points for NOT wasting my time by keeping me waiting beyond my scheduled appointment time. It’s rare to find that in the medical profession. I’ve recommended them to many of my dental fearing friends and all have been pleased.

I have been going to Dr. Moon since he opened his practice. Past fears from bad denistry have long since been erased, due to Dr Moon and all his happy staff and pleasent surroundings. Conservative and thorough approach with him and the hygenist. I now live an hour away and continue to see him. Thanks Urban Dental for the years of great service!

So did quite a bit of research before moving to Urban Dental. The main reason for my move was because the previous place I went to was located where I grew up at down south. The reviews are pretty much on point here. The staff is extemely nice, kind of unreal nice, like unhumanly nice. Most, if not all are female and not too bad on the eyes too I have to admit. Dr. Moon is very personable and easy to talk to. He takes his time reviewing xrays and concerns with you. I really liked the patient onboarding process with the current status documented on file for historical purposes. They track gum level, cavities, etc. My cleaning was the least painful I’ve ever had. I usually walk out with bloody painful gums but not from here! It’s hard to say if this place is great for serious dental work but for my cleaning it was an excellent experience.

Going to the dentist doesn’t rate too high on my list of favorite things. After a particularly nightmarish journey into one of those chain places off I-10 (from the insane wait time to the cockroach that I spotted hanging around my foot), I ended up making an appointment with Urban Dental based on Jenny W’s review. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Moon and his staff (Tracy, Damary, and Thuy). Everybody was extremely friendly. Everything went smoothly and I was outta there within the hour. Dr. Moon is very personable and had some good tips about restaurants and food in Houston. The office is bright and relaxing. Going to the dentist was as painless as it can get. I’ve been going there ever since.

Dr. Michael Moon was referred to me by a friend. I usually have serious trust issues with dentists, but I trust Dr. Moon. Dr. Moon is more on the conservative side when it comes to additional dental work. Before coming to Dr. Moon, I visited 2 other dentists who tried to convince me to replace fillings… fillings that had been put in place in the last few years. Dr. Moon advised no additional work was needed, especially since I was not feeling pain and my x-rays looked fine. Also, his staff does a really good job of validating insurance coverage. They ensure your routine check ups will not cost you a dime, and they waive the difference. His dental hygienists and staff are friendly, personable, and professional. The hygienists are very good about making you and your mouth comfortable — which doesn’t always happen at the dentist!

Wow, the best dentist I’ve ever had! I don’t hate going to the dentist, but somehow it fell through the crack when I got married and moved from Chicago to Houston. I also travel a lot for work, so I usually can’t plan ahead when I’ll be in town and available for an appointment. On a recent Tuesday, I found myself in town and working from our downtown office. Using my insurance provider’s website, I found Dr. Moon. Of course, I cross-referenced Yelp as well before I gave the office a call. The receptionist with whom I spoke was the most pleasant and patient receptionist I’ve even encountered. Although nothing was available this week, she set me up with the first available Friday appointment (which was over a month out). I described my travel/work situation, and asked her to please keep me in mind if anything opened up in the next couple of days while I was in town. Sure enough, not even 15 minutes after I called, the receptionist called me back to let me know that there was an opening the same day for a noon appointment. SCORE! I made my way over to their location in Midtown (the strip mall between Bagby and Brazos at McGowen). Upon entering, I filled out a few new patient forms. At noon, I was escorted back to an exam room where I was met by Dr. Moon’s assistant. She took a quick look at my teeth before taking a full set of x-rays. Once the x-rays were ready, Dr. Moon came in. I was lucky enough on this visit to have Dr. Moon himself do my cleaning. Since it had been a while since my last cleaning, Dr. Moon had to spend some extra time cleaning, but he took it like a champ, all the while explaining everything he was doing. Later, his wife (also a dental hygienist) finished up with my polishing and flossing and handed me a goodie bag on my way out. Dr. Moon and his entire staff are all very friendly, and this was one of my most pleasant dentist visits ever. See ya in December, Dr. Moon!
