My entire life I have been afraid of the dentist. I’ve always had awful teeth. A mixture of genetics and bad habits. I usually manage to avoid the dentist for 2 years at a time, even if something is noticably wrong that warrants going in asap. It took a really bad emergency root canal(if you’ve ever needed one,you understand the urgency) to get me to look for a new one. Thanks to ZocDoc I stumbled upon Dr. Hammes. Of course I was nervous…1. For what I KNEW I needed done 2. For what would be discovered that I needed done from my own neglect of visiting the dentist regularly. Once I got there and started talking with him, he was very transparent. Obviously being me, I knew it wasn’t going to be great news. The way he talked me through what’s happening and what we would need to do, I felt not only confident about moving forward with the treatment plan but also coming back to make sure I never put myself in this situation again. And that was before work was even done. Before, during, and after, Dr. Hammes gave me his genuine professional consultation with recommendations on what would happen before during and after. I in general am a lot of work in terms of teeth. He worked with me on a plan that would easily coincide with my dental insurance but also didn’t leave me paying an oral car payment out of pocket(I hit my insurance limit). He is so fairly priced from what I’ve seen and compared over the years. I still have a bit more work to go, because I have put so much neglect into my teeth that I require more visitations than a small town funeral home BUT I am no longer afraid. I look forward to the appointments because I do not feel shamed. I can’t say that what I need done is better than I expected, but I understand it and finally have a dentist that partners and consults with me. After each procedure he makes himself 100% available. If I’m nervous about side effects or something that feels not quite right, I can get ahold of him no matter the day or time and get helpful advice or reassurance.It feels productive getting it done, and I’m excited for the completion of my tune-up. No one else will ever touch my teeth.

I was pretty skeptical of all the 5 star reviews when I was searching for a dentist last week, but I’ve just returned from my first visit with Dr. Hammes and the Washington Dental Care staff and I had to make sure I boasted about the great experience. Breaking it down: -Ease of booking: I booked through opencare on the spot. Took one minute. I then got a confirmation via text message and documents I could fill out via zocdoc. -Reception: The ladies working there are wonderful. Prompt and helpful. I got documents on zocdoc but I’m lazy and didn’t fill them out. No problem! They had it all covered. -Actual dental service: I have never had a dentist and not the hygienist spend as much time as Dr. Hammes did with me. He practically did the whole cleaning (albeit not a generic one). Also, I’m a baby, and he offered to numb me for the deep cleaning needs. Having experienced a deep cleaning through pure grit, I really appreciated it. -Pricing Transparency: They covered everything with me before they did it and even followed up on some concerns I had with my insurance company. Very professional group here – I will be back!

I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Hammes. He is by far the most professional and KIND doctors I’ve ever had the pleasure of having. Not only is he very educational, but goes out of his way to ensure his patients are healthy and well taken care of. Last time I was in his office, I was going through a rough patch and he noticed something was off and took the time to just ask me if I was okay after the actual appointment. I was really taken aback by the fact that he (who is extremely busy) would take the time out of his day just to be kind and make sure I was okay. The world really needs more doctors like Dr. Hammes. He also actually got me to finally floss…he’s a true miracle worker 🙂 I recommend Washington Dental Care to anyone. You are in great hands with the entire staff! Thank you Dr. Hammes for being a true healthcare provider in an era where that becomes less and less frequent.

Dr. Hammes not only did a great job cleaning my teeth, but he also put in the effort to explain to me why and how different things are happening to my teeth. I am now taking home with me more knowledge about my teeth, which will help me keep my teeth in great shape.

Washington Dental Care provides excellent customer service. The atmosphere is very welcoming & relaxing. Keshia the front desk reception is very friendly and she makes you feel right at home as soon as you open the door. She also takes the time to process your personal information with discretion/confidentiality. Nada has a pretty smile and she makes you feel very relaxed while she is preparing you to be seen by the dentist. The office is very clean & organized with top of the line dental technology that will truly amaze you. They also take all kinds of dental insurance, just give them a call first or check out their website to see if your insurance is acceptable. Dr. Peter Hammes, DDS is very professional and I especially love how he takes the time to explain and share with you, your dental results. He is also very patience and he don’t mind answering your questions. Overall my son & I had a wonderful experience. We would definitely recommend this dental office for all of your dental care needs. Just give them a try you will definitely leave with a beautiful smile. 🙂 🙂 🙂 P.S. Did I mention it was close within my neighborhood that was a added plus.

Great place with great staff! By far one of the best dentist I’ve experienced! He explains everything and makes sure you are comfortable. Recommended for anyone looking for a new dentist! Also, they have parking!

I came here for an emergency dentist appointment today. I was in massive pain for quite some time. They accepted my insurance and took me in right away. Dr. Cecchini and the dental assistant (don’t know her name) were was so personable and easy going. Great group of professionals who are very nice and accommodating; Very knowledgeable and patient. Dr. Cecchini did a root canal on one of my molar tooth and I am feeling much better. I still have more sessions, but I trust he has great hands and will be able to solve some of my dental problems. Thank you so much.

If it were possible to rate this place more than 5 stars, I would. Dr Hammes and his staff were a delight. I came in because I scheduled an appointment on Opencare and thought I scheduled for today. Well when I arrived I was told it’s actually in a few weeks and I felt embarrassed. Dr. Hammes told me not to worry and squeezed my appointment in right then and there. The whole way through the cleaning and check up, he was very thorough. The technology used in his office was nothing like I’ve ever seen at any office before. I’m so happy that I’ve found a forever dentist. When I moved to the city a few years ago, I could not find a good dentist at all. I felt like most were out to try and scam me by having me get unnecessary work done or wasn’t very thorough or informative. Dr Hammes was very honest about the work I needed done and offered simpler solutions. He saved me from getting unnecessary work, money, and time. I actually look forward to my next cleaning.
