I’ve had so many good experiences here. Dr. Wood and his staff are kind, gentle, funny, and easy to work with. I’ve seen four dentists (my fault not theirs) and each was a happy experience. Yes, happy. I am actually happy when I leave Dr. Wood’s office. Everyone there is good but JoAnna Rubin is GREAT. I’ve had two procedures with her that I was terrified of, and I left with no pain and in great spirits. Thanks JoAnna! Parking: Free and convenient. Appointments: Easy to make. Staff: Lovely.

I’ve been coming here since I was a baby– literally, a baby! My first dentist was Dr. Woods and my whole family comes here. The dentists are wonderful– attentive, calm, helpful, friendly, and dedicated. I know most people can’t believe that going to the dentist is a nice experience, but every time I leave after a cleaning, I’ve got a big clean smile on my face! I recommend Dr. Woods, his daughter Dr. Jennifer Woods, and Dr. Chen because all three of them are fantastic. I’m going to Dr. Chen now and he’s been wonderful. If you’re looking for a dentist in the Santa Monica/West LA area, you have to come here!

Dr Charles Wood is an awesome dentist. I changed to him (and his daughter when he is unavailable) about 5 years ago and have been nothing but happy. His care is excellent, he is conservative and does not propose (as an interim dentist did) major work that is not necessary. He is kind, thoughtful, and a wonderful professional. And I have high standards. i cannot recommend him enough

Dr. Wood has one of the best personalities and demeanors of any doctor or dentist I have ever had. He is calm and always asks how you are doing. He never seems rushed and is there to answer any questions you may have. He also teaches and participates in Doctors Without Borders programs where he provides free dental services in developing countries. It makes you feel good to support a doctor who is such a nice person.

Fanciest new CO2 laser made a recent filling replacement a breeze, didn’t even need novocaine. I enjoy the whole crew at this dentistry very much – all very nice helpful. I have known Dr. Wood for some 25 years, both socially and professionally. I can say that he is without question one of the most talented, ethical and generous individuals I have ever encountered. The work done in his offices, whether by him or one of his associates, is always careful, thoughtful and comprehensive. I have been going to Dr. Charles C. Wood, DDS for many years, always takes great care of me, and my grandmother, too. Great staff, super talented hygienists (Jo Anna, and the the whole group), clean office with the latest state-of-the art equipment provides for a pleasant experience and super competent care. This is a top-notch operation, and I have had a lot of work done over the years (regular cleanings, fillings when needed, x-rays, mouth ulcer diagnosis, they even filed down a problem back tooth that was cutting my tongue and didn’t add to my cleaning bill). Coolest dentist in the world, heck he is even a surfer! A complete pro who makes everyone feel special, I cannot recommend Dr. Wood and his staff more for all your dental needs.

I had 2 of my amalgam fillings removed at Dr. Wood’s office, by the man himself, and i have to confess that i was pretty impressed with his professionalism and skill. He made sure that none of the mercury filling that was being drilled touched my mouth by using a magnificent device called a dam. I was out of there in one hour extremely satisfied. I highly recommend him!

I’m writing this review as a former dental associate (and patient) of 3 years. He is one of the most honest and proficient dentists I know. He taught for over 15 years at USC, and still goes on mission trips once a year for charity. I was a patient of Dr. Woods for over 20 years, until I moved out of the area in 2000. I have come back to him after all these years because I realized nobody is better, or even close in terms of skill, kindness and painfree dentistry. I have always been a dental chicken. Now, coming back to Dr. Wood I am so happy to be in such good hands, I almost like the dentist. He is a kind gentle man who is about as up to date on modern dentistry as anyone I’ve been to. The work he has done so far has been perfect and basically pain free. For me it is worth the very long drive to be back in Dr. Woods competent hands.

Charles C. Wood, DDS, brings more than 40 years of experience in general, family, and preventive dentistry to Westside Dentistry in Santa Monica, California, where he provides high-quality dental services to the men, women, and families of Los Angeles County. Dr. Wood began his professional pursuits at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry in Los Angeles, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery. During his career, Dr. Wood has held various positions, including chief of dentistry at Providence Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica. He’s also served for more than 20 years as a part-time faculty member at The USC School of Dentistry, teaching clinical dentistry with an emphasis on cosmetic dentistry. He’s received numerous awards for his dedication to his students and his work with underprivileged communities around the world. As a dentist, Dr. Wood works to provide quality care with compassion and gentleness. He loves spending one-on-one time with his patients and develops custom care plans based on their concerns and goals for treatment.
