My entire family, including one very anxious kiddo, adores Dr. Gross and his staff.  The office runs on time, hygienists are sweet, gentle and super kid friendly, and Dr. Gross is fun, engaging, thorough, and conservative in terms of treatment. We have had no issues getting late afternoon and Saturday appointments. Billing is straightforward. I highly recommend Dr. Gross and his practice.

My 10-year-old daughter had an emergent situation with a broken front adult tooth and fortunately, Dr. Gross took us under his wing. He handled her with kit gloves and his staff was exceptional.   Dr. Gross was extremely gentle and patient with my daughter, explained how he was repairing her tooth along the way and in fact, he did an exceptional job restoring her tooth. This is round one of the repair process, however, I feel extremely lucky to have Dr. Gross as our new Pediatric Dentist. One step further to explain “new” dentist as we were not a patient of Dr. Gross’ but referred by my adult dentist.  Upon moving to the South Bay, I have been searching high and low for a Pediatric dentist whom I can entrust, and feel so grateful that Dr. Gross is now my daughter’s dentist. Thankfully we are in the best hands possible and I give accolades to Dr. Gross.  Last but not least, I am not one to write YELP reviews, although I had to take the time to recognize what a wonderful dentist Dr. Gross is, his staff, and how his lovely bedside manner translates to working with children.

this is my first yelp review ever. i love dr gross and all the people who work there SO much, that i had to sit down and write this. of the staff: they’re nice. they’re smart. and they’re very accommodating. of dr. gross, he’s got a great way about him. makes you feel very comfortable. explaining options and procedures very thoroughly. he’s not only talented, he’s fair, trustworthy and very easy to talk to. we actually LIKE going to the dentist. go figure

The thought of taking our three-year-old autistic son to the dentist for the first time was daunting, but from the warm and inviting greeting from the team of dental assistants to meeting the kind and friendly Dr. Gross, we knew we were in good hands. He put our son at ease by letting him first explore the room at his own pace. Dr. Gross was willing to do the examination standing up as our son felt apprehensive about sitting in the dentist’s chair. At the end of the exam, he told us to take our time leaving the room, so that our son could  continue to play and get used to the rocket chair. We couldn’t recommend him enough!

Dr. Gross has an amazing method for tooth extraction that is completely painless.  My son had had some trouble in the past with what we called a “dental emergency”.  Dr. Gross put this bad experience in the past with his wonderful bedside manner and truly compassionate procedure which involves numbing the area with mini shots around the tooth.  He didn’t even feel the second shot and then the tooth extraction was completely painless.  It was not a fluke either, we have had several teeth pulled and it’s easy now.  In and out of the office, too, never a wait.

We have been visiting Dr. Gross since my two daughters were 3 years old (circa 2004), and it’s always been a great experience.  His office is super kid friendly – fish tank, t.v.s to distract nervous patients, colorful floors and walls, friendly staff, and an overall happy environment for a usually not so happy group of kids (since, as we all know, the dentist usually never makes a kid’s top 10 list).  Also wanted to share the icing on our cake of successful dental visits – yesterday my 10 year old daughter had to have a tooth pulled at Dr. Gross’ office.  Well, let me tell you, the angst she expressed for a solid hour and a half prior to the appointment would have led you to believe we were taking her to the Westside Pediatric ToothTorture Chamber.  Upon arrival for the appointment, Dr. Gross’ open dialogue with my daughter and friendly disposition, coupled with an equally friendly and competent assistant, calmed her down immediately.  Rather than one big shot in the mouth with a giant needle, she received numbing cream and several tiny shots of novacaine with a tiny needle.  She ended up laughing her way through a good portion of the procedure – apparently it tickles.  I’ll take laughing over crying any day – thanks Dr. Gross!

Dr Gross has a kind and supportive chairside manner. He helped us answer the confusing question of whether a tongue or lip tie was a problem for our one-week-old son. He was recommended by our pediatrician but is unfortunately out of network. We went for a consult and he reassured us with a lot of information so we could make our decision easily. And when he saw our baby get fussy for a feeding, he gave us the exam room to nurse for as long as we needed. His kindness made all the difference for two sleep-deprived, all consumed with keeping a newborn alive, brand new parents. We hope to change our insurance to be able to bring our son to him once he has teeth.

My 2 year old chipped her front tooth on a Saturday. My neighbor recommended I take her to see Dr. Gross. I called on Monday morning right when they opened and they were able get us in ASAP! Dr. Gross was amazing. He examined her quickly, didn’t subject her to an X-ray because he didn’t think the root was affected, and was able to put some bond on her tooth within minutes so it wasn’t so sharp. Even though it’s still a chipped, it looks way better than it did before is so much less noticeable. Although Dr. Gross is out of network for us, we’ll continue to take our daughter to see him! The care Dr. Gross provides is worth it!

I couldn’t be happier with the first visit that my two kids had with Dr. Gross and his amazing staff today.  The front desk was so welcoming and made the process of checking in, even as new patients, so easy and fast.  The waiting room is bright and cheerful and inviting and made my kids feel happy right away.  Any nerves were surely immediate calmed.  The hygienists were so good with the kids and walked them both through exactly what they were going to be doing to clean their teeth.  Dr. Gross has such a wonderful patient manner and made us feel like we had been his patients for years.  The whole environment is great for kids.  My kids are thrilled to be patients at Westside Pediatric Dental Group.  So glad my sister-in-law recommended them to me!

Dr. Gross was referred to us by his colleague, as someone who could possibly help my then 21 month old son with severe cavities. We were told by various pediatric dentists that he would need to undergo extraction of his dental caries which means general anesthesia. My wife and I were concerned that given his young age, anesthesia could be risky. Thank God however when we finally met Dr. Gross who was very courteous, pleasant and examined our Julian. He went ahead and gave him a treatment of silver nitrate which ARRESTED his teeth from decaying any further and lo and behold, it worked like magic! We were so pleased with the results, and very grateful to find another alternate way to treat his cavities. It has now been over 6 months with a few more treatments and his cavities have not worsened. Dr. Gross is very personable, a good listener, and has reassured to bring us peace of mind. Thank you also to the office staff who are always so nice when we come in. Julian loves that he can get a free toy every time he comes in 🙂 Thank you to Westside Pediatric Dental Group and Dr. Gross!

I took my infant son to Dr. Gross to have a tongue tie release.  Our experiences with Dr. Gross and his staff were top notch.  His front office staff went out of their way to get us in ASAP as well as check benefits for us since they were an out of network office.  Upon arriving at the office, a young patient (maybe 3 or 4) came out and declared “that was fun!”  Not something you hear to frequently at a dentist office.  Finally, Dr. Gross did an excellent job treating my son, and also reached out a few days later to check on his healing.  Will definitely be back!

Dr. Gross is my hero. I came to see him after being told by another (not good) dentist that my child had 7 cavities. This other dentist wanted to put silver crowns in my child’s mouth. So, we left and I called Dr. Grosses office and made an appointment. Dr. Gross listened, asked questions, and then gave me some options. He’s awesome. And his staff was extremely professional and kind. They all smiled at us when we walked in the door! I know that seems trivial but it made us feel welcome. Everyone should trust Dr. Gross to care for their children’s teeth.

I have been bringing my daughter to Dr. Gross since she was 2 years old.  When she tripped over our dog and one of her front baby teeth started to darken, I was so upset.  I went to see Dr. Gross and after learning her adult tooth would not be damaged, I asked about fixing the baby tooth.  Dr. Gross calmly and politely told me, “Mommy, this is something we treat mommies for, not children,”  I have never questioned him since then.  My daughter has no cavities at 15 years of age thanks to sealants, thorough and frequent cleanings and the good care and advice Dr. Gross and his staff give.  He is my go-to person for all things relating to my daughter’s teeth, and mine for that matter.  If only he would start providing dentistry for adults, it would be fabulous!  Kudos to the office staff also for keeping things running so smoothly.  There is no waiting time and the reminders are sent out to keep us coming back in a timely way.  They are extremely organized and efficient!

If you are looking for a peds dentist, stop looking and select Dr. Gross now! His pratice has grown from when I started seeing him in the early ’90’s, but Dr. Gross and his office are just as excellent today as they were when I was a kid. My sister and I both saw Dr. Gross from age 4-19. He is the BEST peds dentist in town. No matter how busy, him and his staff alway make you feel like you are the only patient for the day. If I had not moved out of the area, I would take my children to him also. He kindly gave me the name of a dentist in my new area who I love also (almost as much as Dr. Gross).

I wish I could go see Dr. Gross. Goodness knows that if I had as a child, I would never have been scared of going to the dentist. I brought my daughter in yesterday for an infection in her gum. For starters, she had very little fear going as every experience she has had with Dr. Gross has been positive. But once she got there, he was so gentle, disarming and comforting, she felt she could get through anything. As a mom, I totally appreciate his conservative nature in regards to medicine. He is never quick to perform a procedure or do anything over and above what is absolutely necessary. (My wallet also appreciates it). I LOVE that my daughters (4 years and 8 years) look forward to going to the dentist and are proud when they leave. We live all the way in San Pedro but make the trip to Santa Monica because I couldn’t imagine taking them anywhere else for dental care.

Dr. Gross and his staff are always friendly and warm. They nearly always run on time and are very efficient and organized. Three years ago, Dr. Gross corrected my son’s tongue tie (which had been missed by our pediatrician and multiple lactation consultants), which allowed me to nurse him without pain. We have taken our kids here ever since!

Dr. Gross and the hygienists and staff are superb.  He listens to your concerns and is very sweet with kids.  The dental chairs are all covered in fun colors and the cartoons keep the kids entertained. Props to the waiting room to the fun fish tank and toys too!

Dr. Gross and his assistant were super nice and helpful. They both sat with me and explained everything in detail. They were also good with my 3 1/2 week year. They made sure he was comfortable and allowed me the time to breastfeed after. I did not feel pressured to make any decisions when Dr Gross explained required dental procedures. The office is very nice and decorated beautifully for kids. The assistant stayed with me the whole time to ensure my questions were answered and I was settled in with the baby.

Dr. Gross has taken care of my families dental needs for a while now. Not only is  he an amazing dentist, but their office is filled with amazing staff ready to make your experience one to remember. It’s their smiles that make your child feel at home. The dentist doesn’t always have to be a scary place, It can be a fun and exciting experience. All smiles from the Johnson’s!!!! Thanks Dr. Gross! Special thanks to Vilma that made my baby giggle the entire time and Adriana that left my teeth looking super shinny!

Dr. Gross is AMAZING!!!!! My son had not yet ever gone to the dentist before and he is already quite reticent about doctors in general.  He was unsure of the dental gear as well as the hygienist masks.  Dr. Gross and the ENTIRE staff were and are amazing!  We just had our second visit and I cannot believe how well and easy it went.  My son sat on my lap in the chair with very little resistance and his teeth were polished and driving home, he told me he wanted to go back to the dentist!  Thank you so much Westside Pediatric Dental Group!!!

Dr. Gross and his staff are absolutely wonderful! Last week, I appreciated that they were able to fit one of my sons into their busy schedule, so besides being wonderful, they were very accommodating. The front office staff are so nice! My twin boys have been going to Dr. Gross for a number of years and we have always had positive experiences. We think that Dr. Gross is warm, friendly, and very thorough. He is also honest and doesn’t overcharge for unnecessary procedures. The dental hygienists are fabulous as well and they do a such a meticulous job at cleaning my boys’ teeth. I highly recommend Dr. Gross and his staff!!

Our son is two years old and we took him to Dr. Gross for his first dentist appt.  We arrived a bit late since it was our first time coming to the office but the staff was very sweet and friendly and didn’t chastise us for this (as can happen at other places!)  The first thing we noticed was how kid friendly the waiting room was, with toys to play with, an interactive toy screen and fun art and colors on the walls (we went to the Bev Hills office since this one accepted our insurance, he also works out of Santa Monica).  We were brought in right away, Dr. Gross was very personable, friendly and had a great manner with our son, I don’t know any two year old that enjoys having somebody hold their mouth open and peer into it but Dr. Gross had a great hand and it all went pretty smoothly.  Dr. Gross took his time with us, answering all of our questions and getting to know us, we felt very comfortable .  No cavities and our son got to choose a toy out of a toy bin as a prize, he decided on the truck.  🙂  So glad we’ve found a great pediatric dentist!

We have been patients of Dr. Gross for 3+ years.  In the past 3 months, Dr. Bernard Gross has shown his true colors and outstanding qualities.  He has squeezed us in twice for different issues with my older daughter.  And today he became our God of Pediatric Dentistry!   I took my kids to have their teeth cleaned today.  While waiting in the lobby, my toddler fell and hit her face on a low table, ripping her frenulum (located on the the upper gum), and significantly biting her bottom lip.  We got lucky in that it ironically happened at the dentist’s office.  The nurses immediately started with gauze to stop the bleeding, and within seconds, Dr. Gross took his first look at her mouth and showed empathy for my little one.  As always, his friendly and funny beside manner calmed my nerves.  I cannot be more happy with his professionalism and attention.  Of course, his knowledge about dentistry is excellent too.

My six year old had had a loose tooth for sometime. By Saturday afternoon, the tooth had wiggled into a position that made it uncomfortable for him to eat. By no means an emergency, but he is a skinny little guy and can’t really afford to miss many meals. So we paged his dentist, and she called back promptly, prescribing Motrin. Unfortunately, her office just doesn’t offer weekend hours during the months of July and August. Minutes later, we were contacted by Dr. Gross, with whom our regular dentist shares some sort of reciprocal paging arrangement. He was unaware that we had already been contacted but I explained our situation and he too suggested Motrin. But he also went on to offer to come into his office on Sunday. Mind you, Dr. Gross’s practice does not offer Sunday office either. In fact the building was sealed and he lives a considerable distance away. But the prospect of my kid enduring the better part of two days in relative discomfort and unable to eat was of concern to him. I suggested we hold off until we saw how the Motrin worked. Well, the Motrin didn’t work, and so that Saturday night, we arranged a Sunday morning meeting. And so it was that at nine this morning, Dr. Bernard Gross went well out of his way to be of service to and care for a kid never met before. This was really meaningful to my wife and me as you might imagine. Dr. Gross is as personable and decent a guy as my story would suggest. His very tidy, kid friendly office, is lovely. Before my son was treated, he was well distracted by the beautiful fish tank and a great selection of toys. The treatment areas are bright and the equipment is as unintimidating as dental equipment can ever really be. Every aspect of the care rendered by both Dr. Gross and his assistant, whose name I wish I remembered, was perfect. Hours later, I received a follow up text and I was happy to report that all had returned to normal. Are you looking for a dentist? STOP! Look no further. Thank you Dr. Gross.

Dr. B. Gross was amazing, we were in and out so quickly, his staff were friendly, supportive, and extremely accommodating. I took my two month old in for a tongue tie frenulum cut and it was very easy to ask questions he made me feel very secure about the procedure and it was over quickly and my son was even smiling on the way out of the office. He even called the next day to check up. He was recommended by both my pediatrician and my lactate consultant.

Dr. Gross was recommended to us by our pediatrician,  My son is 3 and he’s had 2 very successful cleanings there. Today he had some sealant applied to some very deep grooves on his molars. The hygienists were very patient and gentle. Dr. Gross is warm, approachable, and has a great bedside manner. We had tried one other pediatric dentist who was very stringent about her guidance for keeping healthy teeth. As a positive contrast, at Dr. Grosses office I received gentle recommendations to rinse his teeth better after letting him eat pancakes from our hygienist today – much more pleasant than the other dentist who recommended we cut out goldfish and crackers completely. My kid got to pick out two toys from the bin today for having a cleaning and a procedure. He’s still a little afraid of the dentist but he’s pumped about his new bulldozer and car  We pay in full after each appointment and then submit to our dental insurance for reimbursement. I know each insurance company is different but if it helps to know – I received a 100% reimbursement for my son’s first cleaning. I’m expecting the same for the second cleaning but am unsure about what the coverage will be for the sealant. Also they told us that they’ll be moving offices a few blocks away by the summertime. I’m excited for the fresh new updated digs!

Dr. Gross saved the day when my 10 year old son broke his two front teeth skateboarding when we were there on vacation from San Francisco. He and the staff were warm and welcoming, even staying late to fix his teeth, turning what could have been the worst vacation ever into a reason to be grateful for modern dentistry. My son was eating pizza an hour or two after teeth were fixed and didn’t have to miss his much anticipated trip to universal studios. Thank you Dr. Gross and office from the bottom of this mother’s heart.

Dr. Gross and his whole staff are kind and as gentle as can be with my son and with every child I see go through their office. My son is second generation in our family to receive care from Dr. gross and his staff. My son, normally a very stubborn and self directed child went in willingly and sat down in the chair without any reassurance from me no doubt in response to Vilma, the dental assistant’s, kind and gentle demeanor towards him. His cleaning was a breeze and he left the office smiling and in good spirits with his goody bag of toys and toothbrush. I would recommend Dr. Gross to any family member or friend!

Dr. Gross and his staff are  amazing. Welcoming, caring, warm, personable, and most of all knowledgeable. I went there based on yelp reviews and online research for others in the area. I took my son for his first dental check up when he was 3 and was nervous but from the moment we came in the door we were greeted with smiles, my son was acknowledged and introduced to the play area. A nurse came out to say hi and explained what our first visit will be like and i knew then I had made the right choice. Not one tear from my son. At the end he got a toy and left very happy. We have been back for his second visit now for cleaning and the quality of service was the same high level as before. This team deserves praise and I absolutely recommend them.

Naturally, my son was a little nervous about his first dentist appointment and he had tons of questions on the way over there.  Well, those emotions were quickly forgotten as soon as entered the office.  Angela, the dental hygienist, was beyond amazing, and has a true gift for working with children.  First of all, she has the sweetest voice and demeanor!  She explained everything and let my son touch and experience the instruments before she put them in his mouth.  He was so intrigued by what she was showing him that by the time she actually put things in his mouth, he was completely unphased.  There were absolutely no issues and he was able to cooperate without any protests or struggle.  Dr. Gross was also very nice, friendly, and upbeat.  He made us feel very welcomed and attended to.  On the way out, my son asked me why the appointment was so short (time flies when you’re having fun!) and at the end of the day he told his dad, “Dr. Gross is MY dentist.”  A++++++++ experience!

I had to bring one of my 14 months old to get checked after she hurt her gums falling into a sharp edge of her crib 🙁 .   Westside dental was highly recommended by multiple friends. I was able to get a last minute same day appointment. My daughter had fun exploring the waiting room and the visit went so smoothly. We saw Dr. Gross today and he was amazing with her (I’ve also heard great things about other drs there as well).

Dr. Gross is an exceptional pediatric dentist!  He is incredibly calm, kind & friendly.  I appreciate that he treats children with respect and attentiveness.  He is never condescending, rather, he engages kids and parents alike with remarkable patience and thoughtful understanding.  He also explains things really well.  Our family also loves the professionalism of the office – it’s a high-functioning clinic from the front desk to the hygienists.  And everyone seems to have a degree in how to engage with kids in a skillful and friendly way.  In truth: my kids actually love going to the dentist.  And bonus: they have a great “treasure chest” of awesome treats and toys!  I swear the office must have a PhD in child developmental psychology.  Can’t say enough good stuff about it.

We were referred to Dr.Gross by a lactation consultant who diagnosed our newborn with a tongue tie. He quickly corrected his tongue tie which made breastfeeding so much easier. What a relief that was for a new mom who was struggling with breastfeeding. He made us and our baby feel at ease. We brought him in again who was 3 months by now to see if he was teething. He checked him out without an appointment and confirmed he was! Dr Gross is attentive, patient and caring. We’re so happy to have been referred to him! Thank you Dr.Gross! 🙂
