What a great dentist! The entire team here is amazing! They were very gentle and extremely knowledgeable. He does not try to over sell you on any extra work which I’ve seen at other offices. The office itself is exceptionally clean and very modern and new. The dentist was personable and took extra time talking to me and going through everything he was doing and looking at. Great experience I’ll definitely be back!

Dr. Whittemore and his staff are excellent! I recently had a wisdom tooth emergency that needed to be extracted. Not only were they able to accommodate me with an immediate appointment, but they were very professional and made the process very easy and as painless as possible. I would recommend them for any of your dental needs! Thanks to Dr. Whittemore, Brittney, Amanda, and Ariel for helping me through this :).

I couldn’t be happier with Dr. Whittemore and his staff – they are professional, efficient, friendly and they love what they’re doing. I felt so good the whole time I was there for my appointment . Excellent energy, light-filled office, painless procedure, interesting conversation ( with me mumbling in the chair ) and really good people. I have found my A-Team!

I have enjoyed my visits to Whittemore Family Dentistry. Brittany at the front desk is professional without being stiff. Ariel the hygenist offered suggestions and tools on how to better care for my teeth without being a jerk about it. Amanda the dental Assistant is super competent and quickly provides the dentist with the tools he needs to get the job done. I went to have some fillings done (which is not super pleasant in general) and I feel like the process went so fast because Amanda was so on top of what was needed next to complete the proceedure. Dr. Whittemore is patient, kind, encouraging, and willing to answer all the questions I have about what is happening. I also want to add that there is supposed to be some amount of pain after getting a filling done (and I had previously at a different dentist had extreme amounts of pain and sensitivity after) but after my visit and filling at Whittemore Family Dentistry I had no pain or sensitivity in the following days. It might be a fluke but I choose to think it’s the skill of Dr. Whittemore. The act of having dental work done is by and large not super pleasant but Whittemore Family Dentistry makes it as painless and pleasant as possible. My only complaint is that sometimes they play Maroon 5 which is awful even if you are not laying in a chair with 4 dental tools and someone else’s hands in your mouth.

I showed up late and on the wrong day, but they happily got me in with 0 min wait time. Great facility and staff. Front desk was very helpful and displayed confidence, dental assistant was very friendly, genuine and observant, dentist was polite and very informative. The hygienist (Ariel) seems to truly know her craft and take it seriously. I got the vibe that she is passionate about it, which is not easy to find (in my experience). I feel like she took really good care of my gums, and did her best to make my experience comfortable (while still thoroughly cleaning)

I went in to have some cavities filled. I’ve had very bad experiences in the past with doctors not giving me the Novacain correctly, meaning I was in extreme pain during the procedure. I expressed this concern to Dr. Whittemore who took it very seriously. He checked in with me several times during the procedure, and even took the time to explain to me why I most likely had a poor experience in the past. At one point I did feel the drill, and he promptly stopped, applied more Novacain, and proceeded with no more pain. It was honestly as good of an experience as one could expect from having a cavity filled

I had an excellent cleaning. I don’t necessarily look forward to getting my filling done next week (because who likes fillings??) but I am much more relieved knowing it will be done by Dr. Whittemore and his staff. I have already recommended this office to my girlfriend, and I will continue to recommend their practice to other friends as well. 5/5. Excellent customer service too.

I just got home from my first visit with Dr. Whittemore and upon entering the beautiful building, I was immediately greeted by a very warm and friendly office manager. What a great first impression. I filled out my new patient paperwork and was brought back for the appointment for my daughter. We needed a consult about my daughter and Dr Whittemore was so warm and very friendly. He listened to our concerns and what what we were hoping for. He was very detailed and organized in his explanation of what he saw and what the options were for treatment. He even recommended putting off costly treatment due to the growth of my child and problems that we could encounter and was was best at this time. I really appreciated his expertise and honest assessment of what should be done rather than just do the more costly treatment. He seemed to really think of what was best for her. Wow. I am not easily impressed so I am pretty thankful to have found such a wonderful caring, and honest dentist who I have heard does quality work. Can’t wait to see that in the future, as he has new patients now! Thank you, Dr. whittemore and your team for a great visit today! I feel very confident recommending him to my friends and family!

Great addition to the Sellwood neighborhood! Everyone on the staff is very friendly and clearly enjoys their work. The office is brand new and all the equipment is top of the line. If you are looking for a new dentist I would definitely check them out!
